The fog on day one was thick! Way worse than anything we faced coming out of Maine in SCBR 2021. I ride that fog with my modular helmet in open face mode to be able to see something. I like this format / presentation for this series. Well done Pam,
Yeah that fog was pretty insane. My face was sopping wet just so I could see. The VespaChef shirt needs to make an appearance 😀stay tuned....Thanks Chef!

If it looked that cloudy on camera (which always makes fog not look so bad) then I can only imagine how thick it was to human eyes. Scary stuff! 😶🌫
You got that right! The camera can see way better than we could. And that fog hung on us for miles!

The long version is that I was using tricktracks and google maps. 1st day ever doing the scooter cannonball, trying to figure out the best way to navigate. Google maps was doing great and not following tricktracks exactly so when I split off the tricktracks (the official route) I wasn’t concerned. After a while I started to get concerned and zoomed out on the garmin. I realized that one of the stops was not pined right in Google maps and I was routed around it, not to it. After some rerouting I ended up riding about an extra 15 miles and riding the route backwards for serval miles. It was not fun passing numerous scooters going the correct direction (including the legendary PAM!).
Rough 1st day, good learning experience.
So sad I could not join. Probably never will.
Bummer. But hey, your old faco windscreen made the journey & scooter cannonballed on cdwise’s new HPE !!
