One of my favorite things from the long ago internet was a thing called “photoshop layer tennis”. 2 designers would send a photoshop file back and forth and had to keep building on what the last person did (within an hour I believe). Would love to see you all do something like that. Could either be spatial (person A does drums, then person B has to do chords on top of that, then person A does melody or whatever) or temporal (person A does an intro, then person B builds off that with the first verse, etc) or some mix.

You seriously inspire me. I have been too over critical of myself to the point where I don't release anything for years, and to see you nail this song in an hour just proves that capturing the moment is what music is really all about. Now we could take a picture of ourself and overly photoshop it til it's inhuman.. but we all need to live in the moment and just accept what is, and to fall in love with the imperfections of our creations. When we nit pick our work to death it ends up sounding lifeless. Thank you for opening my eyes.

I have a weird video idea!!! Go outside, near a busy street or park or outside a store or something, leave a mic(or phone voice recording, which I use way too often for my music lol) on for an hour, and just sit there (or hide it and leave and come back) See what you can make with nothing but the sounds of carts squeaking, dogs barking, cars, voices, whatever!!! Hope you try this!

Making a song in 59 mins sets the bar pretty low. Who cares how long it takes; shouldn’t the goal be to make music that is genuine, intentional, and interesting?
Goal, what goal? We can't achieve anything too useful with art, so who cares what the goal is? Art is anything that would make you and other people smile, even a challenge itself is an art.
Mister Pickles the goal is to make an entertaining video for his audience that expects him to make entertaining videos
Making truly great timeless music is a process that takes a long time and requires a lot of emotional exertion. Like sure he made a decent beat and sang some corny lyrics over it. But I don’t think he really made a “song.” Making music nowadays is so simple in the digital realm but there’s no replacement for true talent. It’s easy to get a nice vibe. Y’all don’t have to get so defensive just cuz I have an opinion, god damn
The truth is that technology these days allows you to put your creativity immediately into a song of your own. You don't have to practice guitar or drums or piano for years to learn what music is, these days it just takes a few months to learn the music software in order to successfuly be able to produce short catchy songs. Acoustic music is more complex, but it can't be tweaked and manipulated until it sounds good like digital music software allows.

Glad I found this and similar channels. I don't do anything quite to this level but I sit on a lot of tunes/grooves and they never see the light of day because I always want to keep nitpicking. It's a hobby for me and a release from the day to day minutiae that can drag you down. Music is powerful in that way. Very inspiring.

The song turned out really good. You should refine it now that you are done to show the difference between an hour and limitless time. It would also help you for future challenges because you would know what to work on.

Rhoden Craig The mouse gets me. Like you would think the software he uses must make use of that right click
M Wadud The mouse has a right click and a scroll wheel. The magic mouse works the same way your phone does with the touch sensor and a certain area in a certian movement causes that action. For example if you tap the mouse 2 it zooms in. If you swipe your finger down the middle it scrolls.
Don't forget the amazing bottom charging port that makes the mouse useless when charging.

You could do a challenge with many musicians where instead of everyone using a single sample, one person uses a single sample, then the next samples the song made by the previous musician. Each musician samples the song made by the previous musician by sampling the song previous. :3
