Why all the hate? At least these guys are doing something they love, while most of you critics sit on your computers all day.
Got emmmm!
Envy plain and simple
Yeah fuck em
No better feeling than going to a barbershop and walking away with a great cut.
Na, I hate the hair down the back of my neck lol
+Thomas Costello hahahaha lolol
+Thomas Costello 😂😂😂

The smell of talc and after shave
Friendly reminder that you cannot be a "hipster" if you exhibit genuine knowledge and skill in your field of interest.
Unironically.
A sharp haircut never goes out of style.
And yet hipsters are only hipsters when you declare them so.
That mustache is legendary
This gives me hope for American entrepreneurial spirit and masculine innovation and fellowship. Great video.
I love anything that is concerned with true craftsmanship.
Keep it up guys.
now that is how a moustache should look
"My dad was an engineer, I don't really know what happened there."
I laughed so hard when I heard him say that.
Otorino my dad is an engineer, I’m a psychologist
I actually busted out laughing
Where is this place with so many gingers with American accents?
Boston maybe? We've got a lot of irish people
It's in Dallas Tx
Read the description.
@@iLOVEpicklesBRO28 Irish heritage, but they are entirely American.
$25 for a haircut and $30 for a shave? Holy crap. I pay $15 for a cut, and shaves are $10 at the barber I go to. They say no "frilly extra crap" but their prices say otherwise.
+Micah Murray you should go to Norway, if you want a "good" haircut its about 70$ and the "cheap" ones are between 30-40$
+SPUMPYY Quite expensive. Here in Germany you pay 8-12€ for a cut. Extra 10€ for a shave. Only women pay that much here, around 50€ to 100€ for a single visit at the barber. Insane prices.
+Micah Murray This is my shop, and I have been going since they opened. Once you know your going to get the best cut you have ever had every time it is worth it. I will never go anywhere else.
+Glassland Not entirely true. Depends on where you are going and how the quality is. I usually pay about 30€ ($34). 8-12 € is only cheapest buzzcuts and a Turkish salon which is ok but does not respect the head shape in any way the barbers presented in this video do.
In India it only costs 1 dollar for a haircut lol
I'm from India, A pro Photographer and I'm a bearded man. I have been following your channel from the last 5 months and It has changed the way I look at myself. Most of your videos have helped me to groom and be articulate with my thought process. This video is amazing and even though, the kind of culture you people have is not in India, I just see these men and wonder how dignified they are and love what they're doing. This is what manliness is all about, Living life with Dignity and Passion.
Thanks for the video and hope to see more about the US's Southern culture which we don't get to see much in Hollywood films.
I wasn't expecting that at the end!
Dude beat-boxing at the end.... so much epic!
That is epic
Ahhh Jukebox! went to highschool with that kid, he'd always be beatboxing outside the bus stop. That kid cool AF.
Back when I had hair, I only went to old school barber shops. Nothing like a barber trim and straight razor shave. My dad would take me for my haircuts as a boy and it wasn't until I was older that I realized it was as much about him teaching me how to be a man and relate to other men as it was about the haircut.
0:24 i got the sudden urge to play monopoly..
lol
asdf I
Well that's one of the best videos i've seen on Art of Manliness...
you need to do more.... all those years in Dallas and didn't know these guys where there!
My dad used to take me to the barbershop down the street. Dave, our barber, married an Amish woman so became some-what Amish himself. He picked up barbering after quitting truck driving.
Always a great cut.
Now I'm balding, so I don't worry about cutting so much. My wife just gives me buzz cut in the kitchen. But I would like to get a nice hot lather and straight razor trim. Last time I got that was at a nice little shop down the street from the base I was stationed at, run by these nice older Cambodian ladies who did great military cuts, complete with wash, hot towel, straight razor, and a head massage. All for $10.
I love my barber shop in Long Beach--The Lodge. It's just like this old-school barber shop featured in this video. The guys are friendly, but most importantly, I always leave with a great cut.
Daammmnnn i love this!!! I'm passionate and motivated in barbering and cutting hair. But after watching this, it hecka boosted up my my passion and motivation!!!
We have a barber who is fantastic! He's old school, self-operating, old West themed, and just a good old fashion men's barbershop. He's always pretty busy and he has regular locals who come in and just talk man talk (you know, politics, hunting, weather, work stuff, interesting topics of all kinds). He does a hang good job at hair cutting to. That's an important part Haha.
I am a huge fan of classic barbershops, I'm lucky enough to have one here in my town, and I'm telling ya, there are few things better than the feeling of a fresh haircut and a straight razor shave, it's refreshing, invigorating, and I tell people it's the men's equivalent to a facial, mani/pedi and salon job all wrapped into one.
Awesome shop!! Love the simpleness to everything!
Great video, love how it explained the barber culture and its revival.
Hooray for sharp beards and 'staches.Sweet beatboxing earns bonus points. Another great vid!
Great looking shop guys!! Dig it
We need more of this
I guess gingers do have a bit of soul. No but this was actually impressive
Awesome! Keep it going guys. Men being men. I wish this place was in my town!
"... whatever sex, they're just guys comin' in..." Huh?
I think he meant like whatever sexuality but he mis worded it.
Some guys are transgender, thus have a different biological sex than most men, but their gender is still male (gender and sex are not synonyms, they're two different things). Now, I'm not 100% sure whether he meant this or if he meant "whatever sexuality" as in sexual orientation and just misworded it, but if he didn't misword it, then that's what he meant.
chronicdizzle That's not what he was referring to at all.
Dreamcast Yeah I have my doubts about that as well, that was just the only explanation for his statement that would have been grammatically correct. I don't know what he actually meant
He might have actually said "sects," because he said "whatever color, whatever creed, whatever sects, doesn't matter."
I long for a barber shop in my city, great video!
There is a place like this in Lancaster, PA. The Black Comb Barbers. They do a great job cutting hair, beard trims, and straight razor shaving and even offer free beers haha
That was a sick beat!
that was great. i loved the beat-boxing at the end. good for them.
I wish there was a barbershop like this in my neighborhood, just good old fashion service.
That was a good talent right at the end!!
There's only one location of the shop they showcased... And I live really close to it, great success
I really wish there was an old school barber shop like this in my area. I've been buzzing my own hair for the past 15 years to avoid going to a salon. That's all we have around here. Even the PX only has a salon next to it.
this was really cool
My uncle became quite wealthy having a Barbershop in a great location. (at the stairs to a main train station). Location, Location, Location. He also provided shoe shines which really added to the bottom line.
This looks like a quality joint. If the haircut&shave is that good, it's well worth the $50.
That ending though! "IDK" Prohibition cuts, hell yeah.
Hey, we're here all the time!!
This is def a barbershop I wanna work in once I graduate school in a few months
👏👍 There was a time in the American Old West when barbershops were called tonsorial parlors; and a haircut cost 25 cents and a shave cost 15 cents. 😊
we need a shop like this in Delaware
I wish we had this kind of barber shop in Charlotte.
the beatbox at the end was awesome
Hey Brett, you should come down to Nashville, and check out some barber shops here. We have some that are pretty old fashioned and classic like Red's and Carson's Barbershop.
Thats one beautiful moustache!
Thumbs up, love this.
hey great video
Wow, that man's mustache is glorious!
This is exactly the kind of place I wish I had nearby. So hard to find a good barber shop. Heck, I think I wouldn't mind being a barber. Maybe when I retire.
I wish there was a place like this where I live in Vegas.
Why do I struggle to find a shop like this man
I wonder if they do full body manscapes.
Open up an extension in Boston, please!
that uppercut skate deck is sick
Art of Manliness, can you do a video reviewing a barber in NYC?
That ending... Word! 😎
That beatbox spot on
Would be useful to do a video about doing our own haircut. Really nice work, though.
Use to go to a hair cuttery... I redeemed myself though, about 4 months ago a "1950's" style barber shop opened up in my city much like this one they are fuckin legit
There is absolutely zero about this barber shop that represents the 1950's.
hondah35 hondah35 he did not say this barbershop has any representation of the 1950s. I think he is merely implying that it has a similar uniqueness to it. However, if he did in fact mean that the barbershop in the video has a 50s vibe to it, then he would be correct either way. The way the building is designed and the decorations in it would be enough to guess this is what the owners were going for. Maybe the the late 40s would be more accurate
that is the most epic moustache I've ever seen
I have long hair ( my parents thought it suited me due to my odd shaped head ) but I'd love an experience like this. I might have to give shorter hair another go.
I like the Masonic symbol made out of the scissors and the straight razor
Being the 15 year old lad I am, I get my hair cut at some salon near my house, I'm happy with the side part I have, but a place like this sounds much more up my alley. Problem is I'm not a very opulent fellow so I'm not sure if I'd be able to afford a regular trim at a place like this.
Wish they had some shit like that here in Washington. Maybe they have something in Seattle but other than that, good fucking luck.
brandon's mustache is awesome. Hoping mine can turn out as magnificent as his.
Awesome vid Brett! Where is this shop located?
+TPAfirestorm Bishop Arts District - Dallas, Texas
craaaazy beatbox, i wasnt expecting that lol
I'm heading there with my buddies Atticus, Enoch and Maddysun next week.
I went to a barber shop that I had been going to for some time. It had been taken over by women, they had The View on television. I felt like I was being punished for something.
I love going to my old-school barber. No frills, just a good cut and a close shave with a straight razor...if your barber doesn't have a straight razor, RUN!
Brasstacks barbershop is in oak cliff tx, my old stomping grounds, gonna have to stop by and see what yall can do to this mop i have...lol
Their logo (the scissors crossing the strait razor) looked a tad like a square and compass.
"...I don't know. " 🤣🤣 Great!
in my country those barber shops still exist but the couldn't cope up with the latest trends
That's a majestic ginger mo'
A Beatbox Barber! Very cool. :)
WolfRanger2008 Jesus died for you. He paid the debt for your sins by dying for sins on the cross. Be free from an eternity in hell by realising your guilty state before Christ. Believing that his death, burial and resurrection saves you and you will be saved, depend on him to get to heaven
For all you hipster bashers, most hipsters rock beards, but most bearded men are not hipsters. some men just like to be "dapper" as the one gentleman so eloquently put.
homie beat boxing in the end was a nice surprise...
Dat mustache omg!
art of manliness. you should have shown us a photo of the haircut when they named their favourite one. otherwise i didnt know what they were referring to
I'm gonna keep my long hair but this is impressive!
i know this might sound like a weird/stupid question but would i benefit going to a barbershop like that if i'm bald but have a beard? i'm very attracted to this kindof place not just for the cut but for the whole experience...
yes sir! they can shave your head with a straight razor and line up your beard! it's a manly experience that can't be found in a great clips.
You're from Jenks, OK but all the barbershops I see in your videos are out of state. What are some good Tulsa-area barber shops?
neat!
awsome
i liked the barbershop the moment i saw the JD bottle made into a sprayer.
This is very similar to Indian traditional barber shop except the price. Love this sort of traditional barber shop than modern saloon.
I go to a salon to have some pretty ladies cut my hair. Ill go to a barber shop when im married.
Ever since I was little I hated going to salons. I'm 14 and still don't like it. Barbershops are quick, cheap and that's all I need. My dad cuts my hair now though bc I only get buzzcuts
+fireonthemountain1776 If your wife won't let you go to a salon, you're the wife.
fireonthemountain1776 it'll never happen if you go to a salon ! They probably think you're gay no offense but it's pretty gay to have a chick cut your hair just saying !!! 🤔
AbominableHuman I say that if you go to a salon you'll always be somebody's wife !!! 🤔
I wonder if they cut black men's hair? I'm deff interested in going.
Any barber shops like this in Orlando, Florida?
We need a Brass Tacks in Alabama... or ANY manly barber shop that gives a "good" men's haircut. If I'm ever in the Big "D", I'm headed to Brass Tacks.
even tho i'm within walking distance of razorbacks which i know is fairly famous i go to a different one just cus ive been going there for a long time and i know the brother and sister that run it.
Whats with all the hate in the comment section?
"Hipster" is just the latest trend in a long line of stupid trends, anyone remember emo?
Beat boxing is a modern form of music first adopted by Americans of African ancestry, just like rock and roll.
Those are awesome cuts and even better mustaches.
and...
Gingers DO have souls.
great ending :)
0:32 i'm not a mustache man, but that's a fucking epic stache.
