I have an AX10 and it works for about 5 minutes and then just stops. It only operates on boost on my energy efficient pump. When I take it out to see if its blocked it is not. When it does work it does a good job but have found it to be very frustrating.

Hi Jo, If the flowrate going through the cleaner is good and it is installed correctly (very important that it is!) then it might be worth talking to your supplier about a possible warranty call-out

Mine did the same, it would run a few mins and then stop, the filter basket showed that the pump was sucking air. The problem was solved by putting fresh sand in. The steps that works is to let the pump start up to bleed itself, then switch it off (making sure that all air is bled form the cleaner pipes) then connect it and it runs perfect every time and cleans the pool well.

Was a very simple fix for me. The duflacky that sits on top of the filter basket and connects to the suction hose was not sitting correctly. I think you call this operator error! Once seated properly it worked fine and still going strong. 😁

Parts not expensive? I have had my AX10 for 20 months and it needs a new tune up kit @ $120. $120 every 2 years is not cheap.

Hi Tatsu35. I agree that $120 is not ideal but the tune up kit replaces most of the internals of the AX10 and should rejuvenate the cleaner nicely. Considering the total cost of the cleaner, $120 is not bad. Saying that, I would expect that would only need to be done every 3-4 years, not after 20 months. Have you spoken to the person that you bought it off about warranty? Those cleaners come with a 2 year warranty (at least within Australia they do) and if it is just worn down, you may be entitled to a warranty claim.

@@thebufferzone5404 Yes I spoke to them but they just said that they are wearable parts so not covered by warranty. Another pool shop who I have had around to do repairs to my pump advised that it's normal to need a tune up kit every 2 years and that is why their shop stopped selling them.

Actually, $120 is relatively cheap compared to some other cleaners out there..
