Shift+F12 has completely changed how I construct cities. Thank you. Also stormwalls is an amazing little mod. I've been using them to fill out the foundations when my buildings are too tall. Really gives it an imposing feeling.
That's what I love to hear. So many people are either unaware of the ingame editor or terrified to use it. But it's such a great tool if used properly, which is why I make these videos. To show people the possibilities and encourage them to give it a shot themselves.
Solid Shek outpost! Looks like something you'd see in Kenshi. I'm impressed that you've managed to get the wooden walkway to work in any base build - I tried it for 10 minutes once between storm houses and gave up. Would be cool to see Shek walking around in it and fighting some raids.
I love your eye for constructing these outposts and the commentary of what you were thinking as you made it is amazing! Would love to see your attempt at revamping some of the existing cities with the lore and aesthetic you have.
Absolutely epic, I'll definitely use this in my future playthrough. I assume I can just build stuff myself and then move things around with F12 to move things in place in order to keep the cost etc. Real? I'd be so happy to be able to build more freely
@Dyna1One absolutely. Just build with materials and then use the editor to move them where you want them. Just remember to save a reload once the buildings are moved to make them persistent.
@@HeroInHisHead Awesome! Yeah I've been watching your videos and shorts on building since I got the itch to play again (I get that once a year or 2) and I feel like this is gonna help a lot with the roleplay aspect
I really appreciate that! The response on these build videos has been awesome and I wish I had started doing them 2 years ago when people suggested it lol.
If you haven't had a chance. Check out my Shorts on just that subject actually where I go over many of the aspects to building in shift f12 as well as asthetic tips
do you use a mod that makes you able to place towers closer to walls? i always have them turn red making me unable to close the gap woth wall or tower if i wanted to
When you're in Shift+F12 you can place in the red with no issue because editor supercedes the restriction. The only restrictions that it doesnt over shadow are interior exterior requirements and node requirements. You can also manually move things into position after placement with has no restrictions
@bulkvanderhuge9006 it can be troublesome if used improperly. That is why I make these videos to show people how to use it safely. I have been using it for 4 years now and never had an issue that wasn't as simple to fix as a save and reload. If you follow my videos on building. You're totally fine. I have also had many people try and tear into me for making this content claiming I'll brick people's games. It's been 4 years and I've never had such a thing happen to me or anyone I've instructed and truthfully I couldn't care less about what that group of people has to say. The free dispersal of helpful and tested information is all I care about. Not the gate keeping of information due to ego
Honestly dude you should do a mod like "new cities" or something, just to add fluff and lore, because i'm honestly shocked at how small most of the nations are, and how they lack fortresses that the enemy could encounter. Like having a fortress of Holy nation and Shek Kingdom on the frontline. FCS is really easy to use. Basically what you're doing here is FCS mid game.
A base atop a plateau would be a great challenge for you and something I would be interested in. Probably will need some sort of bridge mod.

Great video! It could be cool to se a skeleton inspired build

Maybe my next base build I'll drop some cinematic defense shots in the end show
Sounds good, maybe a mountain pass bottleneck with bolts raining down...

Love it! This is a perfect source of inspiration for my only sheks run :)

so it's OK to use the Shift+F12 menu? Some people say "Don't use it!!" and others say it's OK.
