The point is supercell releases something broken, makes users spend their hard earned resources and wild cards on it (if you don’t use it you lose) and once people max it THEN they nerf it. It should’ve been emergency nerfed from the beginning like the goblin machine

One thing is gonna be broken so people invest time into it or money and then it will eventually get nerfed. Im free2p and i have her level 15 but im not crying abt her getting nerfed. It’s still the best tower troop so it doesn’t matter it just slightly closes the gap a bit but it’s still the best by quite a bit

I feel bad for wallbreakers. Dagger duchess can kill both of them for 0 elixir if they have no tank same for Canonnear but canonnear needs it
I think they went a bit too far with the dagger dutchess nerf. Card lost that initial high dps and is useless when out of daggers. Cannoneer also isnt viable so SC really made a mess of tower troops.

@azophi Im f2p too and have all 3 towers maxed(finished dagger duchess last week😐). Had a ton of books and cards saved over the years.
Only people who are celebrating are lower ranked players. I agree that the duchess needed a nerf, but this nerf was overkill. They essentially removed the entire purpose of the duchess and made her as useless as the canoneer. What’s the point of even adding new tower troops if they are all going to be non-viable options? Then supercell does really dumb mistakes like the issue with the goblin machine, and adding asinine cards like the evo drill.
This game is cooked.
Tower troops should be deleted from the game so I don't mind

I feel like cannoneer is the strongest tower troop atm. People still play against me as if they were playing against DD so they end up spamming a lot more on my side of the bridge which allows the cannoneer to get insane value. Sometimes I dont even understand how the cannoneer is able to take care of large pushes but it just simply does. Here are a couple of nice interactions that the cannoneer has. Kills firecracker, archers and dart goblin for basically no hits. Destroys giant even without the help of the other tower. If my opponent play a hog I can play an aggresive mortar hitting the tower and the cannoneer destroys the hog for no hits without spending extra troops. Sure its week against bait but there are so many good splash cards atm that really its not a problem
I've been playing cannoneer since I maxed it recently, and it crushes in this meta.
It's true. A lot of people just don't know how to play against it and spam small things at the bridge, thinking you'll just fold. I play it with a cycle deck so I can counter the small things. Then just bank elixir and counter. It has its issues, but it feels OP in certain situations.
E.g. pull a mega knight to the middle with something cheap, and the towers eat it.
Old dagger duchess and tesla was the most cancerous defense.

It doesn't kill a pheonix egg anymore right next to the tower when it's depleted. It seems like the nerf is a bit of overkill if you ask me

The rare case the hitspeed nerf is a buff is when she's locked onto a tank and you want her to kill something else. If you use a tank killer on a beatdown push like evo barbs on giant evo wiz. Before dutchess would probably waste all her ammo on the giant, barbs die, no ammo for wizard. Now she should have some left
Still not really a buff tho cus at least before her empty reload speed was better

FACTS
Dagger duchess as a concept is good, but It's fundementally broken. A tower troop that can basically negate small counterpushes, cycle decks and spam when you're low on elixir shouldn't exist. In fact I just want the card to be either erased completely from the game or be nerfed so much it's quite literally the worst card in the game. I don't think this nerf is enough.
At least there are options on tower troops which is a really good thing

@@didu173 duchess nerf bring hog and some other win conditions back in the meta. I don't think the tower troops were really a bad thing for the game. I kinda was expecting adding those since clash royale team ran out of ideas. Definitely making them op is not a good idea bcs the game would be less skillfull and also less fun to play tbh

Instead of giving the Duchess the slight nerf it needed to be equal to the princess tower, they nerfed it to hell and made it as useless as the canoneer. And then they add the evo drill. Super cell is cooking their game.

I don't think she's useless anymore. You just need to actually think around how to support her, like you do cannoneer. Then she can still get value.

Ive been playing since launch, Even though the updates make me play less its only temporary because if you dont use meta decks and dont play competitive then this is purely a benifit for the player,your cards will eventually catch up and extended the life time Of the game by an incredible amount

@kian-ganji Hog can be easy to counter. DD would prevent split lane pushes, promoting people to just spam. If they overcomitt it's fine since dd would just clean up.

@Crakedatswitch2 knight is a common that counters a megaknight and there are so many legendaries that can be countered by lower tear cards. The rarity only affects the special effects of the cards. Hog just hammer while ram can slow. Phoenix revives while mega minion hits harder. Legendary dosent mean op just special. I don't see why it should be different for tower troops. Your argument is fundamentally wrong to what clash royal is like.

Normally I am a bit sad when cards get nerfed to the ground. But I feel no remorse for this thing for invalidating all but two playstyles.
Not in this case Dagger duchess only lost to one deck that could beat the othe 2 tower troops. There was no reason not to use her.

It's princess tower, and yeah people are actually using her 40% of time in high ladder. 50% of the time I see duchess and 10% I see cannoneer. I also have seen more lavaloon and anti-beat down decks these days.
Duchess is so bad when she's out of daggers. She's so bad, a single evol knight could take the entire tower by himself. Now duchess cannot kill firecracker before she shoots. Also, the duchess cannot kill the phoenix's egg once she's out of daggers.
They, in fact, did not kill the Dagger Duchess. She's still everywhere and just as annoying.
(Also can't wait for the Goblin Drill evo to drill right up my back entrance)

Fine with me. I've kept my Hog Rider for years now and continued using it while Dutchess was broken. Yes I'm able to do well and win games still but damn it's gotten so much harder. Definitely not winning as many as I was but Hog is still playable even without the nerd. Would just need to change the deck a bit

@@Karma0917 I'm only at 7800 trophies. And only up to Grand Champion. Hell yaa I've had struggles but you can at least consistently put in good matches. Dagger Duchess before the nerf, Hog was still able to get a hit on tower even with most other cards hitting it once as well. And like mine if it's fast cycle, one good cycle and you can get another Hog on the field when the Duchess is still charging up. Just keep up the pressure. Force them to counter your Hog while doing most other work on defence. THEN spam at double elixer forcing them to mess up their cycle. I mean I'm not the best but Grand Champion with Hog against Dagger Dutchess consistently is a win for me at the moment lol especially now that the finally nerfed it
@@Karma0917 Hog Rider, Tesla, Evo Knight, Evo Firecracker, Log, Earthquake, Ice Spirit, Skeletons. Sometimes sub out Knight for Dark Prince and put Evo Ice Spirit instead to help with Hog connections

@@hondurasen3632 That's the problem with dealing with evolutions. Nerfing the non evo part of Tesla would basically make the card unusable for free to play players because what made Tesla good was the evolution part of it. Supercell should've just said that because Evo Tesla requires more energy for shockwave, it would have to cut back on energy making the Evo Tesla base damage lower. There is no need to nerf normal Tesla.

What do rarities even mean anymore. Why is the common now more viable than the legendary. This says a lot more about the games balancing and the economy than anything else
It just means how hard-to-get cards they are for f2p. Nothing else. Leveling up champions is nearly impossible as f2p

But regardless, i just stated a fact that higher rarity cards are harder to obtain without spending money in the game. Also, it seems like higher rarity cards also cost more money. It doesn’t mean they are better, just another way to make money for the devs. It does create an illusion to think that higher rarity cards would be better because they cost more to get and upgrade, but that isn’t true.
