Wow, I was considering buying the Vidami Blue but thought it was over priced at around $230US, this Airstep Play is a bargain for what it does, great review Tom.
Absolutely brilliant review. I want one!
Great video well explained just what I needed top man…
I am still in shock with the price. It's less than half of the competition with at least the same functionality. The saves and favorites are great features! Thank you Sir!
If you are primarily interested in just looping sections of UA-cam videos you can install the free YT looper extension for Chrome.
And this one too, the Play App is free
@@bobli5216 Can I use the play app without the pedal?
@@bmrbca3658 YES, that's what I'm talking about!
You will still need a foot peddle to ff/rr hands free right?
Edge is now Chromium based and it accepts Chrome extensions. In fact it also has vertical tabs which makes me like it more than Chrome itself recently. What I'm saying is that I think that the browser extension you mentioned _should_ work in Edge now :)
That feature to store references to videos and loops (which I'm hoping is supported by the extension) is exactly the thing I've been looking for. There's a very small number of extensions that allows you to "bookmark" points in a UA-cam video ("Bookmark It" being one of them), so this having an option to loop it as well is _super_ cool!
Edit: Ok, that browser extension is one of the coolest things all on its own. At this point the foot controller is the cherry on top :P They should make that paid software! ;)
Really great video, this is a big step forward for iOS users.
Very interested. Thanks Tom \m/
U R the best on YT
Already ordered earlier today! :)
Great video Tom. I've been meaning to ask, what studio desk are you using?
Great video! They should just point to this video for documentation. I purchased the Airstep Play as much for a page turner as for the youtube/web functions. I have a lot to learn about page turning features. I have it working as basic forward and backwards with MobileSheets. It is possible I will not be able to get every function that I want with that software as it looks like you can't program the device itself. I may be able to get MobileSheets to recognize some of the buttons, but I'm new to that software as well. But it does work well for youtube and I spend a lot of time there.
Would be nice if the stored loop also stored the BPM if it had been reduced to a lower speed.
Nice one, ordered!😊
Hi, Where are the audio files placed to appear in local music?
Just bought it, looks awesome. $70 USD seems very reasonable -- as you were describing it I thought it was going be more like $200 and originally dismissed it assuming it would be super overpriced. There's nothing more boring than trying to deal with ff/rw on a phone, computer or TV when watching a tutorial or lesson and your guitar and pick are already in your hands. Ideally this will solve a lot of that hassle in one fell swoop. Hope they add Firefox support at some point, but Chrome will do in the meantime. Thanks!
What are your thoughts now that you’ve had it for a little while?
Just purchased. A good tool! Question: where are the saved video loops stored? I'm using the Chrome version. I haven't yet heard from Xsonic about this. I found nothing directly on my iMac. I'll look again but I don't think the loops are saved locally?
Pretty sure the actual loops aren't saved anywhere. It is saving the link to the video, and the loop points. Think of it like a bookmark in your browser.
Will this work with the Chrome-based Brave browser? My understanding is this browser has been ‘de-Googled’ for privacy but still Chrome based.
can i use it without crome? i have problem with crome i get pupop links in crome maby a virus so i use firefox and edege mirosoft
Nothing beats good old fashioned Transcribe! and a regular keyboard.
FYI I’ve asked the devs to add load videos from files app……we shall see. But you can load any online video
What's that Udemy piano course?
I am totally amazed by all these technically advanced guitar players these days like Guthrie Govan and Tom Quayle but sadly they all miss the most important aspect that all the greats know and have !
Storytelling !
Not happy about being tied to Chrome…
Too bad this device only works with Chrome on the Mac. Chrome's incessant data mining in the background causes so much havoc with my various DAWs that I had to completely remove it to make my studio functional again. Sorry, but I will never install Chrome on any of my Macs again.
Yup, I was sold until I got to that point in the video, make it work with Safari and I would buy one.
@@sap9046 fiveloop works with safari and can use any midi controller
If you have an M-chip Mac, you can just use the App, not the Extension.

Really chrome is that bad?
It doesn’t list LickLibrary as one of the sites with which it works. I wonder if it would? Nevertheless, looks like a very handy tool at a great price. Adding it to my Christmas wish list!
Try the app, you can load any site not just the ones listed
