Love your little cloth dolls. I couldn’t agree more with your statement of making something for yourself and experimenting to learn and loving the mistakes. If your business is craft related then the pressure to create something perfect every time is huge. Thank you for sharing.
Your dolls and puppets are not just toys, they are works of art. You have put so much love and care into making them, and it shows. You are a wonderful artist!
He's so cute I'm also enjoying these art dolls and I really love the simple style in which they are made yet I did not had the courage to try creating my own. I will reconsider this and gather my forces :)) I'm mostly afraid of not meeting my perfection expectations.
I sew fabric art dolls, with poseable wire armatures inside but I’m thinking about making dolls with clay parts soon, this video was excellent because it gave me an idea of what the process looks like before I get started! Thank you ^_^
Hi there, just watched your video. I have been making toys and dolls for a long time. I use paper clay air dry clay for heads and hands and feet, it does crack a bit, but I just fill it in the next day. I love your idea for the eyes! Sometimes doll eyes are expensive. Oh and you might want to use acrylic or craft paint next time, if you feel unsure about wall paint.
Loved ittttt. Just I've been looking for! What's the difference between polymer clay and air dry stone clay? Doesn't polymer clay sets by itself with air as well? Thanksss
Polymer clay is way less sandable, but it stays wet until you bake it, so you can put the project away for weeks. With air dry, you're on a time limit.
Been trying to find videos of these types of dolls because they're always so cute and unique! I'm addicted to make them and just finishing up my third little guy! I've actually never thought to use cabochons for their eyes even though I've got some leftovers laying around from a different project, might need to make a new one with this in mind :0
I've got a purple and confetti BaB unicorn who is totally a boy. I've made many dolls in my time, often from scraps and even from stuff I found on the sidewalk (this doll shaped plastic hanger thing). Do you think having beans in his butt would make your cat any more fun?

For dried out clay I like to add just a dab of mineral oil to my hands while working it.
That's a great idea!
That polymer clay is stall useable but it takes some doing to fix it
