We had a 99E CAT 12 Grader we would drive form job to job Man let me tell you there’s nothing like going under a bridge, listening to that thing ROAR fun times in my life for sure. I do miss those days.
That must've been such a rush roaring along the roads with that. Sure did like hearing the gearbox working up shifting and particularly down shifting while slowing down. Good spot for the camera too.
Justice T Buford " Now you punk ass, don't go playin wit ya self on my highway.. You can think about it, but just don't do it. It wouldn't look nice"😂 Ya Bandit!
My dad use to run scrapers back in tha 70's an 80's said they would road walk them alot of time because the company he worked for only had one lowboy.. said alot of times the scrapers had no brakes so wat they would do is put tires in tha apron an when needing to stop u jus lowered the bowl down an let the tires rub blacktop..
Jeff, when you run a scraper on the road like that, I assume you only need the front engine. Do you even start the rear engine or just let it roll in neutral? Guess I answered part of my question. I was surprised the rear engine was running when you parked the FW. Just running to keep the transmission lubricated?
@@Jpaydirt all twin powers come from the factory with the driveshaft out of them now because they had heaps of low hour failures and worked out the wharfies would never start the rear engines when driving them off the boats and around the ports.
Seeing this on Wednesday 7/26/23 7:08PM Pulled a thigh mussel can hardly walk for the last few days. Lol On top of getting over prostate cancer. After Chemotherapy you never know what will hurt next. Lol
I have to move my little Allis Chalmers D grader to a new job site tomorrow. I'd love to be able to just drive it down the road like this (it's only about 5kms) but I fear the consequences - including from trying to steer it at "high" speed with a very worn and floppy front end!
This biggie run like clock on wall lot people in alberta have scraper like this.the way trans shift is very good running gear.thank video.calgary alberta
That’s the easiest way to get them to the next job many years ago I drove a small pan I think it was a 613 about 25 miles to the next job it was in the winter like to of froze
The last few videos have been live stream from combo cell phone/go-pro set-up, on account of his main frame computer is off line, and can’t do editing. I personally am liking them, although it probably is not as easy for Mr. Paydirt.
Why hell yea pawpaw sum times you just have to PUNCH IT IN THE SEED ...what you do is get a little hot so sauce an put it on that cat's rear end an get after it ..... great video 👍👍👍
Most scrapers are old neglected machines that get drug out a couple times a year and only get the bare minimum of maintenance. Jeff actually services his equipment
I watch this video and 2.0 speed it was like watching the teenagers in their rice rockets. Be careful the local cops will write you tickets for every speed and vehicle violation you put on video.
The FW rolling coal. Keep the videos coming there awesome. I’ve myself have put many hours in on one of them and my body reminds every day of it. Lol
Man, I enjoyed the ride-along. Thanks for posting!
Your machines are s credit to you .. nice and tidy ! Thanks for sharing your time .. hi from the land down under

The FW is running well. Such a nice note.
I'll give you credit Jeff, looking at that grill, that's an old machine. I ran one just like that in 74!
I wonder what year they installed retarders in ca they were on and they didn't want you screwing up the hall road
It's got good pickup!
Fang it!
Thanks For the Ride a Long ! The ole Girl sounds Sweet!
TGP
I never been on a joy ride on scraper before. Man you drove it like you stole it.
👍👏 I used to think "road it" was a past tense reference
Two questions , is the water in the drainage ditch mountain run off ? It looks fairly dry or has there been a lot of rain?

What are those buildings for???
I always loved the little flat spots in the tires until they warmed up.
No if in doubt right arm out there!!
With the way you were bouncing around in the seat it's hard to tell if it's the bias plies or if you're so happy that you just decided to dance🕺!
I guess you haven't moved much dirt
THANKS JEFF!!! 😍😍😍😍😍
Blackfoot Headlines - "Old man falls of his equipment and is injured after he was apparently positioning his GoPro".
I didn't see any old men 🤷♂️
I'm here ,just got out of a parade trying to haul gravel ,great I get paid by the hour😂

rear engine must be running or you will burn up the trans, sometimes ill use it but most of the time it's not needed

Smoothest ride you'll ever get in a scraper......

How come your new videos don't show up on your list of videos ? They all did until a while ago .
Live videos have a home under the Live tab

Lean back and give it to her
What speed does the FW top out at, Jeff? Do you push her hard?
35
they don't call it road gear for nothin' yeeee haaaaaw💪💪
Does it have a road gear? :o) I thought they were as fast as you can go all shift :D
Don't put KY in your ear, it will screw your hearing up !
The FW getting it lol lo e to see that thing cruising down the road. What's the top speed?
That straight stretch was cathartic after all them damn stop signs. Was this with the front engine only?
Yes
Never ridden on a scraper before

Ain't checked in on Jpaydirt in a while. What happened to the intro?

Dang Mr Paydirt, the FW was cruising right along. Does the transmission auto down shift? 😊
It's semi automatic up and down shift from 3rd to 8th
Reverse 1st and 2nd are manually selected
@@Jpaydirt
Thank you Mr Paydirt. I was listening to her shift and it got my pea brain thinking 🤔.
Sure hope ya never flop that over cause it looks like the ROPS is about to fall off
That thing would still be intact after 10 rotations, new one is trash after tipping once 😅
That was fun 😊
Those 8speeds git it done
Just wondering how many people that saw the fw thought oh no another guy gone crazy going to go run over someone or something oh ya
A cop last five or six seconds of time 😊your video
Right on
Woo-hoo!

wooohooo hammer down
So this friend of mine that is an operator of machinery told me that scrapers don't have Brakes. Any truth to that?
They do, but its many times faster to drop the bucket if its loaded and you need to stop fast !
Mine all have brakes
