Champion! Can’t beat Kenilworth for a good day out 👍🏻 have to get you out there and show you around one of these days. They started logging my spot I was telling you about, might have to explore further into the hills on the next trip up. 🤙🏻🏴☠️🇦🇺
Hi Damo, great vids, being rear Hong the raptor over the last few weeks and watching your feedback helped in the decision. I just ordered one same colour, coming from a Prado 150 , same as yourself I think, when you changed over, did you think it was a worthwhile upgrade?
G’day Andrew, You are exactly right mate, I moved from a Prado 150 to the Raptor. I find it much more versatile having the tub back, certainly more powerful than the Prado, 100% more comfortable in the Raptor. The Prado is more spacious in the rear for the kids I would have to add.
G’day mate. Depending on how slippery/wet the dirt is I normally only go down to 30. If I don’t know the tracks 26 is my starting point. If it’s gonna be slippery/wet/muddy or soft sand I’ll start around 18-20 👍🏻
Round The Fire - I love it mate. Coming from a Nissan Patrol that was very customised It is a little disheartening starting all over again, but then again it is also exciting. I learnt what is really important in a touring setup and what isn’t so I am planning around that and spending the money doing it perfectly the first time. I really look forward to watching along as you outfit your rig too. We are a little limited on aftermarket stuff at the moment but that will change.
100% agree with you. Having that experience under your belt gives you a more grounded approach to what’s needed, and the lower GVM gets you thinking twice about everything. Plus I bet you knew your patrol inside out for off roading now the fun continues with finding out how to best use the off road modes and features. Thanks for staying tuned mate 👍🏻🍺
@@Detonator_Prime cool to see you overseas guys really enjoying the truck. I really think my Gen 2 F150 version is the best all around vehicle you can buy.

Gday Mate. I’m not too sure what the Ranger Raptor wheel offset is? I think from memory that the guys putting Raptor kits on the regular Rangers generally use a zero offset to pump the wheels out to the guards 🤙🏻🏴☠️ I also hear that you guys in the states will be getting the Ranger Raptor in 2020...??🤔
@@RoundTheFire Gday! No worries on the offset, close to zero is most likely what they are. There's talks of the next generation Ranger coming in 2022 being on a new chassis which will be designed with a North America (maybe global) Ranger Raptor in mind. I'll make due with a 'somewhat Raptor' until that comes out and most likely I'll trade it in for the real deal. Thanks!
Ok wow that’s the first I’ve heard about the 22 model Raptor. The PX Ranger models are still one tuff truck, I’ve taken them to some of the wildest terrain Australia has to offer and they keep bringing us back 👍🏻 I haven’t taken the Raptor too remote yet, we don’t have a lot of the aftermarket overland accessories available here in Oz right now for it. Hopefully before April things start to Arrive, I have a big trip planned. Stay tuned.

Another awesome clip... re your tool box in the tub, is that fixed in place or able to be removed easily? It's a good size, where did you grab it from?
Gday Mate, welcome back. The tool box is a 'space case', I think they are available from Bunnings. The green one in the back of my rig is one I got from the Army. I just tie the handles onto the mounting points in the corners of the tub (sits pretty neat) so I can take it out when its not needed. Only temporary right now, Im waiting on a long range fuel tank to be fitted so I can weigh the Ute and then finish the accessories after that.
Champion Mate 🤘🏻They are an awesome rig, makes everything off road too easy. I’m loving it so far. Biggest problem I don’t like is the aftermarket accessories community hasn’t caught up with the Raptor yet, so it’s hard to find the basics. 👍🏻😎🇦🇺
Without spoiling a video I’ve got coming up with the pros and cons of owning a Raptor. So far the biggest factor to keep in mind is this isn’t a leaf spring truck, so being very conscious about how much extra stuff you bolt on to keep the weight under GVM. The key to this Ute is the unreal suspension and off road ride quality, no point paying good 💰for that only to overload it. So far I’ve added minimal accessories, I’m waiting on a long range tank, bull bar + lights, winch and a snorkel. I’ll weigh the car after that to see where I can go from there. All this will be in future videos.
@@RoundTheFire yeah heavy load isn't possible. For me was the New Hilux the first option but the Raptor is a nice good looking truck, expensive yes but if you don't carrying heavy loads I guess it is a super truck.
I went in originally for an XLT after a lifetime of Toyota’s and just not happy that Toyota seemed to stay pretty much the same as they always have. Even on the steepest hill climbs I did that day (ran out of memory on cameras) the revs were up as to be expected with using low range but still plenty of power to spare.
