My strongest memory from this song is one time when my schoolmates and i was taking the bus home here in sweden and this song came on the bus radio. All of us started singing along until the whole bus rocked and my teachers looked at each other and said that we should sing Hey Baby on our Christmas show instead of the other songs we had rehearsed. Apparently we were more in-tune when we sang DJ Ötzi than we were singing Jingle Bells :D Aw, memories...
Listening to this song takes me on a journey back to 2011 when I heard it aboard a tourist "pirate ship" in Florianópolis, Brazil, as a child. That trip was a blast, filled with fun and new friendships, including one with an Italian boy. The nostalgia this music brings makes me wonder where that Italian lad might be today. Life's mysterious twists, captured in a melody.
most people who were ever in pep band, or went to a sporting event in highschool or college, have sang this song before. :) Thank you Bruce Channel for coming up with this song.
I first heard this when i was 8yo at a scouts and cubs jamboree, I loved it! The following morning after i heard it, i heard some other kids singing the words, i knew they love it as well. They showed us a music video for it as well, but it wasn't this one, it was an animation. I don't remember hearing this sing at my primary school dances though. DJ Otzi is a great man with a great talent.
Fun Fact:
This song was the UNOFFICIAL theme song for the 2002 Korea/Japan World Cup
I was born in 1955 but this song makes me so happy and really smile and actually puts me into mega-party mode. Thank you so very much Mr. DJ Otzi.
Nearly 20 years on, still the weirdest episode of Fake Taxi.
