- What is bioactive substrate? Josh Halter, @TheBioDudeJoshHalter , comes on and shares with us just what is in a bioactive substrate and what of that is important. If we want to work with bioactive we need to understand the core of the system - the substrate!
Really wished that I have found this video sooner. But I guess it's never to late for improvement.
I have also seen an ongoing trend where people spray expanding foam on the wall and throw coir on top of it. Would that also be a concern for bacteria growth in the long run?
This video is so underrated. Bioactive enclosure is the future of any exotic animal keeping imo.
Treefernfiber is extremly hard to come by here in germany. Any recommandation as how to sibstitute for it?
Is this the ingrediance list for the Biodude Substrate? And what are the ratios?
Peat Moss
Vermiculite
Clay aggregat
Kork Bark granulate
Zypress Mulch
charcoal
Excellent Video, I did not know Carpet Chameleons prefer a “ thicker” substrate to lay eggs next to when digging the egg laying area and laying; do Brookesia and Rhampoleon Species do the same ?
I have not worked with many Brookesia Or Rhampholeon. But the ones I have worked with laid in the leaf litter and did not dig much.
