I lived in Tokyo, Japan as a child (3rd grade to 6th grade) between 1979-83 - I can see, hear, and even smell the Showa in this video! 😀-- What a time it was! Great! Brings back wonderful memories of a truly beautiful country - I've lived all over the world and live in the US at present, but Japan is Japan - great country, great people, very decent, civilized and kind human beings. Greatest country in the world! Thank you!🙏
Thank you for showing this hotel. Personally I would have declined as soon as I saw how much rusted and decay it was especially seeing the bed take out the blue light lol . But when you got 14 minutes into it I decided I want to go to this place. It's a shame that money isn't been diverted and update to the building appearance. Thank you for giving me something to watch on a Sunday from Japan.. man I wish I was in financial position to travel in this existence. That's what I would do if I had the opportunity.
this place is amazing. I suspect the rusty metal and paint peeling are left that way on purpose, it adds to the retro feel. The owner cares, obviously, otherwise it wouldn’t be so clean, and they wouldn’t still be buttering bread every day! ❤
This hotel is a magical building that becomes more and more tasteful with each passing hour. It has already reached its peak season, but it delights us in another way: ☺️

It's really badly in need of maintenance, but at least the price hasn't changed since it opened (US$10 Single). It's an amazing time capsule of the Showa era 😁 The rooms are really large and the decor takes me back to my childhood. It would be so easy to do minor repairs (no changes though !) and improve it a LOT !! It would be a FANTASTIC location for any Japanese film or TV show !
Long walk, and then you have to think about going back the other. Now how come they can't at least paint the railings so they look better? Good thing some vending machines worked, or you'd have no food. You are so much braver than I am, going to places I never would but I can share your adventures with you. Thank you!
I was going to say 1971. Very retro…if they replace some of the original flooring and fix the railing and add a coat of paint. They could be more busy, but the price would go up..at least it is clean…and has a neat view. Retro vending machine are interesting. I am surprised they don’t have the old udon machine with the Nixie tubes. Udon machines need lots of Maintenace. Definitely like stepping back in time. Would be interested in going if I were in the area driving..maybe next trip.

Yes, everything is old and looks aged, but it seems very clean, and has a special atmosphere. I am a bit dissapointed by the vending machines however. The food you got there, doesnt seem so special to me. I have seen other videos with more special meals coming from vending machines. I am glad that I could see this place thanks to your great video, as I will never make it there. It seems very clear to me, that this place doesnt cater to people who dont speak Japanese (which is fair enough).

本当に昭和はいいよなぁ、自分は53年生まれだけど、今の便利な時代もいいし、大体なんでも許されてた昭和の力強い時代も本当に最高だった。
不便も多かったけど、全てが新鮮で
子供も多く、街がめちゃくちゃ元気だった。
同い年ですね。
今から見ると不便でも当時は不便ではなかったと思います。
車が一人一台当たり前、携帯電話、水洗トイレ、インターネット…。
当時は違うのに、なんてことなかったもん。黒電話やボットン便所もありましたからね。
ちなみに学校の外トイレは、小→コンクリートの壁にするだけ。(仕切りや水が流れるものはない)

今年の春先に車で旅行中に立ち寄りました。
トーストの自販機があり、あまりの懐かしさに購入しました。
中から死ぬほど加熱されてアルミホイルに包まれたハムトーストが出てきましたが、
シンプルにおいしい。
道の駅に追いやられてなくなりつつある昭和のドライブインの風情を感じられました。
さすがに宿泊する勇気はもてなかったのですが、中はこんな感じだったんですね。

はじめまして、初コメントです。僕は、新潟市に住んでいます。ここは、昔から有名な超昭和レトロ・スポットなんです。😁僕は、こういうレトロな場所が大好きなんで、こちらの公楽園さんは、何度も行った事がありますよ。建物の周りが田圃になってるのもお気に入り。開放感があるからね。😁✨👍オープンしたのは、仰る通り昭和51年(1976年)です。確か7月23日だったと思います。
そういう先入観ナシなのが良いのよ(汗)

なんか脱出ゲームの家みたいな不気味さが素敵。特に壁がホラーっぽくスティーブンキング的でゾクゾクしました。自販機の料理をまめに作ってるのに好感が持てます。

以前NHKの７２アワーでやってました。私も新潟に住んでた時に一度だけ立ちよりましたがノスタルジックな雰囲気を味わいました😀UFOキャッチャーの音楽がまた一段と懐かしい😺
外観のボロボロさとか内装の感じとか怪しさがあって何だか惹かれますね。
昭和の古き良き時代にタイムスリップ❣️ウン十年前にコインスナックに入り浸っていた頃を思い出します🤣
和風モーテルって感じのホテルですね。色んな物が退色してそこに在る姿に何だか胸が締め付けられて訪れたくなりました。

2015年から2年だけですが新潟に住んでました。その時にレトロ自販機を求めてここに行きました。あの頃は建物の上の方に大きく公楽園と書いてあったのですがその看板は無くなったのですね。自分はトーストサンドだけ買いましたが思いの外美味しかったです。

外観見た時はちょっとオッとなりましたが、
中はまさに昭和の時間が止まったままの様な空間ですね。

ここレトロで有名だったので以前新潟で仕事があった時に泊まりましたが昭和感満載で最高でした。裏側の田んぼが見える部屋でしたが、一面田んぼなので６月はカエルの大合唱が聞けそうなのでその頃にまた再訪してみたいと思っています。
部屋の中が綺麗すぎる、すごい
この辺の自販機のラインナップとかテーブル筐体のゲームや椅子とテーブルの雰囲気、以前はこんなドライブインがあちこちに有ったんですよね
この雰囲気で各種定食類を24時間営業で提供してトラックドライバーに愛されてた静岡の国1のドライブイン東海道を思い出すわ

このホテルの向かいに倉庫があって納品に行った際によくトーストサンドを食べに行きました。新潟方面へすっかり行かなくなってしまったので動画を見て懐かしくなりました。
4:40 あああああああああ！！そうだ、昔の蛍光灯って灯りが付く瞬間こんな小さな音が鳴ってたあああ！！！この動画を見て思い出した！！！
しかし、60〜70年代の床に使われてそうな壁紙やもう今や絶対手に入れられなさそうなシャンデリアといい個人的にめちゃくちゃツボです！！

動画配信ありがとうございます。平成初期は、この様なドライブインがまだ残ってましたが、令和にまだ残っているのは意外でした。ホテルも併設されているのは珍しいですね。県内なんで今度行ってみます。就職した頃を思い出し胸がキューってなりました😊
ホテルの雰囲気もたまらないのですが、この動画で見るどん兵衛が美味しそうで、UP主さんのようにどん兵衛、粉末スープを‘後入れ’でやってみたところ、いつもよりも美味しく感じました。
あの昭和を思い出させるお部屋とても良いですね。１階に懐かしいゲームコーナーやレトロ自販機等もあって、あの宿泊代は安いですね！確かに、周りには何もなさそうですね。必要な物は大体揃ってるので事足りそうですね。楽しそうなので、一度は行ってみたいですが、ちょっと遠いので厳しいです。

Peeling paint = danger of lead , ceiling = asbestos and that hallway = The Shinning !

Wow. I’m so amazed at how retro this building is. It has the same vibe as a roller rink arcade and coin laundry mat here in America.
中身は流石に今出回ってるカップラーメンですが、カップリーナの筐体はここだけですね。
村上市のペガサスはうどん・そばの自販機と、ブルボンのポテルカ。あそこは足がないと行けないですね。
ポピーとよさかにはうどん・そばとホットサンド。店内で注文後その場で作られるうどん・そばも美味しいらしいです。
そして公楽園のレトロ自販機はホットサンド。新潟と群馬は修理できる人が健在だから多く残ってるという話を聞いたような気がします。
