You such a good teacher in a fun way with that abstract deep voice. one year later, we all appreciate this more after all them SBF LUNA CELCIUS horror movies
Thank you!

More explainable than billfodl itself did on their page ,keep up the good work, thanks
Thank you, I appreciate your support!

Another great find! It’s no wonder I come to your channel for all my real needs! Thank you for making life a little easier...
Thank you for the continued support, Anthony!

The letters should be engraved with a hammer, if there is fire the letters could be erased? they are a sticker?
Thanks
Hello, the letter tiles are laser engraved.
The Billfodl is also fire and waterproof.
why would you use a seedphrase, and not just the private key
From my understanding, a seed phrase can be used to recover all of the private keys in a wallet, while a private key can only be used to control the assets in a single account and or blockchain.
At $99 this is a RIP OFF! for a piece of metal and engraved pieces of letters. There ara other alternatives and same quality at a fraction of the price. I'm also of the thought that you can get these metal plates cheap and then do your own "engraving" just like the guy that quickly etches the name of the Champions winner on the Champion's 🤔
What are the other options, with the same, Tested by verifiable labs for fire and corrosion proof, do you recommend?
How much is the engraving machine that you speak of and the time invested?
When you decide to change or feel that you need to change your seed phrase, how much are you going to spend to replicate the method that you speak of?
what if the words have more than 4 letters each, since one row can contain 16 words?
Hello, none of the words in the bip 39 pool repeat after the first 4 letters.
it means that we can put only 4 letters for each word.
What if someone won’t remember the whole words?
For example if I have to engrave CONCERT I can put only CONC, right?
What about CONCLUSION CONCEPT CONCRETE CONCERN CONCLAVE etc ????
Yes, but the words that you included after the word CONCERT are Not part of the Bip39 pool of words.
Lets hope it doesn't get into a jet fuel fire ...
😂

Extremely helpful. Thank you for your assistance:))))
Thank you Brendon, I appreciate your support. Stay safe my friend.
-Hg
Great video, did you ever find one where you have space for all the letters ? not just 4.
Hello and thank you for your support!
None of the letters, in the pool of the available words, repeat after the first 4 letters.
Is this Billfodl house fire resistance? ....
Hello and yes it is.
thank you for your reply
@@NTCReviews
Glad that I could help!
Steel, eh !? Now, THAT's what you call a "COLD" wallet ! Thanks for the post !
Glad that you found it helpful, I appreciate your support.
-Hg
how do you take that on a plane without looking suspicious??
It's not illegal to own one; it's just a piece of metal. Why would you be worried about looking suspicious?
Is there a specific reason why you would be traveling with your seed phrase backup?
@@NTCReviews have you ever been in an American airport security? you can't even bring on a plane toothpaste or eye drops. the take out out of your bag, everything that looks like a Swiss army knife
Hello, and yes I actually travel quite often; mainly internationally. I never have an issue via security unless it's liquid related.
I never even have an issue when carrying tactical pens onboard:
ua-cam.com/video/sbZaSKlbx2k/v-deo.html
I see there's only space for 4 letters per word on the devide, don't seed phrases include words with more than 4 letters? For example, could I fit the word "chronic" where the number 1 space is?
Yes Edward, you only need the first 4 letters. None of the words in the pool repeat after the first 4 letters.
-Hg
@@NTCReviews so if the word in the seed phrase is longer than 4 letters, you cannot put a full 12 word phrase in it ?
Hello dabeat2006, you can add up to 24 words. None of the words in the pool repeat after the first 4 letters. So you only need the first 4 letters of each seed phrase word. This gives you enough space to either use 12 or 24 words in this device.
-Hg
I think the question is one revolving around memory. If I only use the first 4 letters of 7 letter word, if it ever becomes necessary to input my keys to recover a lost wallet, I may not remember the full word. Obviously it would also have it wrote down, but that defeats the purpose. I apologize if I’m missing something simple, I’m relatively new to crypto….
Hello G, you can just Google 'BIP39 Wordlist' if you lose the documentation in the packaging. It is a standardized pool, it's not specific to this product.
Search for your word using the first 4 letters and you're done. There is no need to memorize anything, that would certainly defeat the purpose.
I hope that helps.
-Hg
thanks for sharing....very clear your explanation
Thank you Carlos, I appreciate your support!
-Hg
If it comes with a 4 digit pin to lock the device, that would be awesome
You can add your own small padlock in the holes provided, if that helps.
-Hg
my seed phrase doesnt fit inside the billfodl
How many word seed phrase are you using?
@@NTCReviews sorry i didnt realize i only needed the first 4 words.
However the spring that you depress to open up the latch broke and now it doesnt close up, happened with my last billfodl too. Dangit.
Sorry to hear.
Fast forward to a 20 second video and you get the idea of what these things are. Nice video and apologize for my lack of patience.
I don't blame you, Alex. We all work at different speeds.
Thanks for your support.

Can the two halves of the Billfodl be separated? Keeping one's seed phrase in two parts and in two different places ensures that if one half is compromised, the account is still safe.
Hello 1DesertPirate, If you were to do that it would jeopardize the integrity of this device. The inside letters, or the seed phrase, would be exposed to fire - water - prying eyes, etc... which could cause physical and financial damage.
-Hg
Just buy two billfodls
I think the question is if you could store 12 of 24 words of like a Ledger Wallet on 1 side, and the other side contains the 12 of 24 words of another wallet, in which case you'll need multiple BillFodls, and you'll just need to know which Wallet words are stored in what side..
Do you have "BIG" letters too? and special one like %"&$!"/!/* ? Or only small letter?
Hello wtf, they are all lowercase letters which follow the Bip 39 standard.
-Hg
and when, for example, a word has more than four letters? what to do ?
Hello, none of the words in the pool repeat after the first 4 letters. So the first 4 is all that you need.
@@NTCReviews thanks
@@NTCReviews I was thinking, if I was at the airport and I X-rayed my wallet, the airport employee would see your words, right? It would be a good idea not to use this travel protection but rather a piece of paper unless you alternate the order of 1 or two words.
you are very welcome!
Hello, do you mean your cold wallet or this seed phrase backup?
I'm not sure which hardware wallet that you are using but the seed phrase should not show while going through an xray.
If you are referencing this seed phrase backup, I still do not think that it would show and you can always place the seed phrase backup in your check in luggage with a tamper proof seal, which isn't ideal either.
But to be honest, there should be no reason to travel with your seed phrase backup unless you are moving to a new location. The seed phrase should be stored in a safe or other location where you feel that it is protected.
I must have missed it how can you access these words and someone who finds it can’t
No one else is supposed to find it, Nelly. It will protect you from fire and water damage, but never from prying eyes.
-Hg
So because I have multiple wallets with multiple key phrases I would need multiple Billfodl wallets correct? And would need to remember which wallet was for which online wallet.
That's correct. I was going through similar issues and condensed everything into one main wallet. I still have other wallets, with much smaller amounts for buying and trading purposes. But the majority is in my main cold wallet for HODL'ing.
-Hg
How many tiles are there for each letter and number? Is it 5A, 5B... and 5 for each number? And are there both uppercase and lowercase letters?
Hello Giacomo, the tiles are all lowercase. I got those little excerpt from Billfodl Q&A:
'Each unit comes with more than 400 tiles. We ensure that each unit has more than enough of each tile to complete a set up.
However, if for whatever reason you don't have enough of a certain piece, we'll send you a new tile pack ASAP!'
Hope that helps.
-Hg
Hello there. I don't get how is there room for secret phrases that contain multiple longer words.. What am I missing? tks
Hello Xpim, none of the letters repeat after the first 4 characters. So you only need the first 4 letters of each word in your seed phrase.
-Hg
How ist that? I don’t get it.
But why you said is unhackable? If if fall in the wrong hands you are done...
Hello Federico, when I said Hacker-proof, I was quoting the Billfodl company. By not having your private keys online, you cannot be hacked. Leaving your backup in a place where someone can easily read it, then that wouldn't be a hack; moreso theft.
-Hg
@@NTCReviews makes sense, as I travel a lot I'm always worry about where to keep it.

Are the punch out letters and positions on the billfodl both engraved or painted/something else? From the video it looks like they arent engraved.
Hello Daniel, they are engraved.

Storing your money offline doesn't make you a bank!!🤔🤷🏻♂️ Just saying!!
What is your definition of a bank? It must differ from mine.
-Hg
only 4 letter words for cold wallets?
Yes, it's relatively standard. None of the 2000+ words in the pool repeat after the first 4 letters. It saves a lot of time in the longrun.
-Hg
God bless!
Thank you.
Awesome stuff! Thanks coach!
Thank you Thao, I appreciate your continued support! 🍷

Very poor quality. The closing mechanism was broken the first time I used it
Sucks to hear that Otto.
I own 2 of them and they get good use since I'm always testing gear. They are as good today as they were on day 1.
-Hg
how is that secure? If i find it in your house then i have all of your crypto at my disposal
It is secure from water and fire damage, especially when compared to writing your seed phrase down on a piece of paper.
The location in which you store your backup is up to you. If you want to be your own bank, like many of us want to be, the responsibility is yours.
-Hg
@@NTCReviews i have tattood my 24 words on to my body. safer that way

this 2hr video could have been 2mins. stop rambling and just say it
2 hour video? I guess next time, skip the ads.

@@NTCReviews watching you spend 8 mins attempting to spell the word TWIN and place the letters in the correct order is pointless
Luckily, you are one of the very few that feel that way.
-Hg
But I do appreciate you taking the time to comment and share your opinion. I thank you for that. 🍻
-Hg
@@NTCReviews I'm the only person with balls to speak their mind
You didn't mention you can only answer it four letters per word. How the hell is that going to help when I have some larger words
Hello Adam, around minute 7:26 I show a card that explains things a bit more. The card comes bundled in the box. None of the words in the pool repeat after the first 4 characters. So all that you need are the first 4 letters of every word.
-Hg
Great Video, Thank you Sir!
Glad that I could help and thank you for your support!
-Hg
thank you, not sure i understand, why you only need the first 4 letters, can someone explain.
In the pool of words to choose from, none of the first 4 letters repeat in any of those words. So only the first for letters are needed.
it looks like each number only allows for four letter words...
That is correct. The reason being that none of the words in the pool repeat after the first 4 letters.
-Hg
Thank you!
You are very welcome, Stacy!

Hi, have issues with this bill fodl. Ordered from ledger since they are the reseller. Put my first 12 word seed phrase and the gate on right hand side doesn’t close when all tiles in. So the spring action at bottom not closing until the gate on right push right in. I see the lever is out by 1 mm. if I take out the last tile from each row the gate and spring action closes perfectly. so you guys send me a Replacment right away and same issue. What I’m I suppose to do? this is the Replacment and has the exact same issue.
Hello Jassie, I received mine from Billfodl. I haven't had any issues and I have 2 of these in use over the past year.
I'm just a customer, like you. I would reach out to Ledger and ask for a replacement.
-Hg
is it resistant to rust?
Yes it is, Christian.
-Hg
But what if the Word has the Same 4 letters and you wouldnt know only of you see all letters is this possible ?
From the pool of words that are used, there are no words that begin with the same 4 letters.
-Hg
looks like if any of your words is more than 5 letters your screwed.
None of the words in the pool repeat after the first 4 letters. You only need the first 4 letters of each word in order to back up your seed phrase.
-Hg
👏👏👏👏

I only see room to capture 12 words... can't do 24 word seeds?
Hello Ian, each side holds 12 words for a total of 24.

1-12 but each slot is only designated for 4 letters?
You only need the first 4 letters of each word. None of the words in the pool repeat after the first 4 letters.

Hello John, you can use it to back up any 12 to 24 seed private key from cold or even hot wallets.
