Hey James good idea to create that second channel. You seem to have a special skill when it comes to patina paint work and I think a channel focused on the old car/truck builds will bring you a new audience and show that skill off. I'll be subscribed to both. Good luck brother!

Thank you!! You’re thinking is exactly on-par with my goals. This truck has been exciting to build, but I know some come for the tools and others for the truck content. My goal is to provide something for everyone. I’m going to be rebuilding the core support over the next few videos, so be sure to tune in. I’m a bit nervous (keep that between us), but not enough to for-go giving it a shot!!

I have the same Capri stubby set. I like them so far, no issues.

You'll be happy with the Capri Tools stubby sockets. I purchased a set for working on front ends/ suspension, I use them on my impact swivel or by themselves. They help just enough to make life easier. Definitely worth the money.

Agreed. If you pair them with a stubby impact ratchet, it’s a deadly combination. I’ve had the 3/8” metric in the past, but sold them along with my service cart. Now I have the stubby’s in 1/2” Metric/SAE and 3/8” Metric. For the price point, you can’t beat Capri Tools stubby sockets.

I had a 4.3 v8 in a 96 Chevy Caprice that motor got a great punch ran good only problem was the Omni spark would go out often my advice keep that area dry water kills them right away

I’ve heard that about the Omni-spark system before. I noticed it has an O-ring on the shaft, so I guess they knew moisture would be a problem from the beginning. Now that you mention that, maybe I should consider upgrading the O-ring material to be more compatible with heat and moisture…

On the 53 I built I used the brake pedal out of a 79 K5 because that was the inside brake booster bracket.

I plan on using the brake and accelerator pedal from the S10, as I have all the OEM components. I do need to reinforce the firewall to support the booster and master cylinder.

@@MidwestToolReview it's been a year or two. More like 20 something. I put a 53 on a K5 frame. I didn't have to reinforce the firewall for some reason. I used the K5 brakes, steering column and wire harness..I want to say that with the column and brake assembly for some reason I was ok. I also used the bulk head so I had the fuse box. I cut the gauges up to fit in the 53 dash gauges so the wiring all worked. I can't remember what I all did....all I know is that was before groups and the Internet thing. That was my daily driver for years.

Love hibid but just gotta luck out on decently priced shipping and hope they don't double post auctions 😁 I picked up a few things. Wish I had the funds to bid again 😢

Gotta be careful with shipping.. recently I was scammed, rather over-charged for shipping a few small items. I’m not sure how to address that, but all I can say is, only bid on items you wouldn’t mind paying more on shipping that what you expect… in other words, “make sure the juice is worth the squeeze.”

Mr James , I watch your videos and I seen that you are selling some of your tools . I would like to buy some, but I don’t have social media. Please tell me how to get in touch with you. I do have a email. Thank you. Warren Lee
