I find it funny that there’s an ad for Half-Life 2 at the beginning of this because there’s a sound of children that is played near the end of the previous video that is actually used in HL2. Not only that, but apparently this is supposed to take place 7 days after the game’s release, so the ad is fitting for the time period. Great video!
Definitely felt the Local 58 & Eventide inspiration but I also thought you did enough things differently to stand out on your own. Definitely hope there is more to follow
I think this is the first time I've seen anything horror related set in my neck of the woods. The DFW weather map was like a punch to the gut. Thanks for the thrill, neighbor!
Tbh i think music cutting out abrubtly when a hijack message appears works better than having the music stop beforehand since viewers now can tell when smnt strange is about to happen/appear. Good stuff otherwise though.
As minor of a detail as it is, I really like the use of real-world names, such as the Half-Life 2 commercial, The Simpsons appearing on the broadcast schedule, hell, even the McDonald's sign appearing in the dash cam footage. I feel like this minor detail ads to the immersion, making the station feel like an actual broadcast station that could exist in our world. I do think showing and mentioning and referencing the anomalous "parental figures" hindered the unsettling nature of this event though. Without mentioning these entities, I would have believed that a major infrastructure collapse cased the evacuation notice until it mentions the anomalous containment squads. Then, I would have been caught off guard and would have began wondering what anomalous entities caused such a devastating collapse. I think that would have made this more unsettling. Not actually knowing what we needed to hide from would have made me feel more uncomfortable. I know that this series is now discontinued, I just figured I'd share my perspective. I've never made an analog horror video before so take my criticism with a grain of salt. However, I feel like this was still a very unsettling video that did its job well. It might actually be one of my favorites.
At first I was skeptical that you were just making stuff up as you went due to the lack of knowledge on exactly how both texas and vegas handle their warning systems, but when you showed the map and I saw all the weird slightly different names it got me really surprised as to just how much effort you must've put into this. I'd also like to find out what picture of a dam this is cause its almost non american looking. I really like the whole Code disfigure thing as well as the anomaly containment units. I'm a big fan of mutants if thats what Code Disfigure implies. At 6:05 I laughed cause that orange thing honestly looked like alex jones from the neck up, then you hit us with the War of the Worlds style noise and that instantly brought me back. Another thing that I liked was that its implied the whole thing is tied to the dam as if whatever Code Disfigure means, it came from inside the dam. Like the dam is containing whatever these anomalies are. I've been getting a lot of these recommendations lately and this one is a big time favorite that I'm gonna come back too, assuming and hoping you post more. I'm hoping people will send this to big channels like wendigoon for analysis. Whenever ARG's like this get analyzed they get the attention they really deserve. Sorry for the long winded comment, I just wanted to let you know just how much I liked what I saw here.

I love these videos, and it's neat being able to locate the fictional Texas county in which all of this takes place, but it kills me that the call-letters for the station are impossible. It doesn't hurt my suspension of disbelief or anything, I'm not a pussy, but it's a aggravating detail to miss in the middle of getting everything else right. Mind you, Hundiac county does not look anything like the outline of Johnson county in the real world - so maybe the K/W split is centered on Kansas City or some place in Oklahoma instead of the Mississipi river?
