You know they ALWAYS included the family eating real meals and snacks in that show and it was amazing that it was normal back in the 70s but watching now, seems shocking (in a good way) because it’s so unheard of now. Makes the show and characters so relatable and real!
Oh please please post more episodes. Do you have any of the episodes where the fam puts on shows for the retirement home for NYE? Best series. LOVED IT!
Wow!! That's amazing!! I loved watching it. Barbara & Mark were so adorable together, & I felt so bad for Max & Little Annie when Julie decided to leave them. Max was devastated. He had the support of Ann, Barbara, Mark, Grandma, & who can forget Schneider!. He decided to stay, because he thinks they couldn't survive!. I thought that was to cute! ♥️
I know that's the grandmother but she looks so familiar from maybe a movie career back in the day? Did she play in the anyting early television gears or on the big screen? Very pretty lady
Nanette Fabray. She had an MGM contract in the late 50's and early 60's. . One of her more visible outings was the second female lead in The Bandwagon. Incidentally, she was the aunt to both Annette Funicello( famous as one of the original Mouseketeers and later all those Beach Movies opposite Frankie Avalon) and Shelley Fabares. (Who got her start as Mary on the Donna Reed Show) Nanette did not take credit for influencing her neices into careers in entertainment except that maybe her example allowed the girl's parents to see that a young woman could remain ladylike and still have success in the business.
...looking at this Episode, NOW (..with Adult 'eyes'), it's showing us Barbara, as a WOMAN, at a breaking point, dealing with a different set of 'family dynamics': ...with Julie...ahem...'gone', she's dealing with being a Wife, A Lover, Sister-In-Law, Daughter, Grand-Daughter, Working Woman, Friend, co-Worker, Home Owner.... (cont.) ...If anything, she's having it worse off than Ann did, as a Single, divorced Mother; To see a young Girl blossom into Womanhood, and have ALL of that thrust on her in her early Twenties (..in the early 80's, no less) is no small feat....Ann should've help stem the tide with advice, comfort, and guidance, but I understand that It's being done to show Barbara can put her foot down, and HANDLE this situation.... ..but...One DOES 'feel' for her, because, many others COULDN'T 'handle' this type of life change.....JULIE couldn't .......
I don't seem to remember - how did they explain Julie's absence? I know in real life she was battling her own demons, but what demons were Julie battling?
It just didn’t have the energy of one day at a time I’m sure the actors felt aimless with MP drug issues looming and not knowing if the story line could continue on
I don’t get the Valerie B hate. It’s not Shakespeare but as sitcom acting goes she was always serviceable and charismatic enough. I feel like there’s something going on with these comments and it’s not actually about her.
@@PikesvilleAl You really can’t be serious. Nothing against Harrington as a person but he was basically the same simple borderline caricature in every episode of every season, rarely doing anything that rose above one-dimensional. That wasn’t his fault. It was the way the character was written. But I don’t see how he could be fairly credited with holding her or any other actor’s hand on the series.
Jeez I’d kill to have grandma Romano take care of my house and family.
i love this show
What's funny is the house decor is very much more like a grandmother style then young folks even back then.
I love this show one day at a time
Mark and Barbra are my favourite
Spin off ??
It is refreshing to see actors actually enjoying eating food in a scene
Those pecan waffles with brandy sound amazing!😎🙃

I don't remember these later seasons with Barbara off on her own. Almost like a show within a show.
Kathy KB, I don't remember these later shows either
I don’t remember these later show either ……I was 29 when show ended, so was having a life :)
It's a bit like "The Brady Brides" with just one bride.
Mackenzie was half the show. It's not the same without her.
I remember these
I love this show. Grandma's is wonderful ❤😅🎉
Great family show
Onedaytime
Wow
Max is so hot!!!❤

I like the house Barbara lived it. It was a nice new setting.
I don't remember this episode enjoyed watching.
Never heard of this show.... Don't know how I missed it.
It started in the 1970s, and this was around the mid 80s.

What was Barbara's GENESIS analogy to grandma romano going to be?

I think this showed that Barbara turned into a high maintenance princess. Just like Bertinelli did.
PRINCESS?! Barb is OVERWORKED!!!
I didn’t realize how hard they tried to spin this off.
That living room and dining room are so cluttered!
This looks exactly like the Jeffersons/Gloria & Mikes home on All in the Family
This kinda looks like the same set as the house on What's Happening !!
I Don't Think So. Well It Looks Kinda Similar To The What's Happening!! Set
I thought the Jeffersons home when they were on All in the Family
Does Ann still live in the apartment in these episodes
Of Course She Does
She and Howard Hessman lived together
I don't seem to remember - how did they explain Julie's absence? I know in real life she was battling her own demons, but what demons were Julie battling?
Not sure about the first time but the second time sounds like she had postpartum and abandoned the baby and served Mike.
@@lauralarrabee7870it is max not Mike
She gave Max a dear John letter and left her husband and baby
Who gave the down vote? Someone not a Lembeck fan?
Yeah, what is up with that?
Lembeck Rules! :)
I meant I'd give anything to have my own grandmother back.
Maybe they don’t like Valerie Bertinelli. Sometimes she gets on my nerves.
Girl friend miss y
This looks like One Day at a Time to me
Are you serious? Lol it is!!! The original! I heard they did a remake.
It is. The title of the video is just the name of the episode.
Where is Julie?
She left.
Drinking and drugging
Mackenzie not Julie...Julie left Max and Baby Annie
It just didn’t have the energy of one day at a time
I’m sure the actors felt aimless with MP drug issues looming and not knowing if the story line could continue on
Barbara's cruel to her grandma. I'd give snyyhing to havrvmy very own back.
I don't hate Michael Lembeck but I'm much more of a Boyd Gaines fan.
I like them both!😎
"Porky's" turned me off of Boyd Gaines.
Valerie is a lousy actress and can't carry a scene. She is obviously annoyed at those guys getting screen time
It is interesting that you say that because I never thought she was that great of actress either. Or am I wrong?
It takes great skill to do this kind of live-audience situation comedy.
@@porflepopnecker4376 and she didn't and doesn't have it. Nothing but a few facial expressions. Pat Harrington held her hand.

What a stupid show. Many very cringeworthy characters not to mention situations.
