Watched this a few days ago. I was glued to the tv. The shock when he found the pic,and then what his mother really was. Just can’t believe a mother could do this to her boys.
It’s very nice that he wanted his twin to remember a happy life and to spare from a bad one. Even though it would leave him nobody to talk to about the bad things anymore, he still painted that happy picture. It’s probably a good thing that the twin found out the truth. That way both could be there for each other again.
That's what I think. He wants him to remember the happy memories. He was in a serious life threatening accident. That means physically and emotionally he was very fragile. He had to recover from that accident. It would have been very traumatic for him if he was told what had gone on in his childhood.
All of the other abusers, at the discretion of their mother, need to be accountable for their actions. I'm sure that connections can be made from all of those letters of gratitude and love for their mother. They would shine a light on and establish who those people are.

How was it possible for their dad not to know of what their mother was doing. Just the way he was distant not going to see Alex at the hospital and then later instead of giving him a hug he only shook his hand. Lastly why would he ask for forgiveness at his deathbed? I believe that he had to know something about it, although the mother was at the end who controlled the situation back then. I say that both parents were responsible for what happened to the twins.
Jazmine L i think he knew too, and was jealous of the “mothers love/attention(ew)” for her sons rather than her husband once she started abusing them... and the hidden presents, i wonder if that waasn’t both of the parents... keeping them in the shed.. but yeah asking for forgiveness is the main red flag

These two are extraordinary human beings. They pulled through and build successful lives through sheer will power and also love for each other. So very articulate and intelligent.
What also is missing from the doc is that the mother also abused their younger half brother and half sister as well. In fact as I understand it, it was the half brother who made the initial disclosure thinking he was the only victim
I think that could be the reason why Alex asked Marcus if they had been abused by their mother or not. In the documentary I didn't understand why all of a sudden Alex asked that question when they were already 32.
So, the one unresolved question from the doc, that I recall anyway: Why specifically didn't Marcus forgive their father. The only deduction I could make is that he knew...and didn't protect them.
I can't quite forgive my grandmother. Because she allowed my uncle to abuse myself and my siblings. His own daughters as well. She was an abusive woman herself, but she never once said anything to stop him from screaming at her as well.
From the moment he said he couldn’t remember his mother I knew, I completely understand why his brother created a different, better story for him, it’s nothing you’d want to gift anyone.
I watched tell me who I am the other night, I was shocked and disgusted by their mother’s actions. I really felt for Alex and Marcus, they seen like very nice genuine men.
Alex is fortunate, even though Marcus made a mistake his intentions and motives were good, Marcus is worthy of trust but is limited by his own recovery challenges.
Looks like their mom withheld her motherly abilities and love by keeping them separate from the house and not letting anyone getting close to actually love those boys. It's so sad makes me mad too. So amazing they turned out so well. The mom looked like a man in a lot of ways I found that very interesting. I wonder what happened to their bio dad.
He died in a car accident, 3 days after they were born. Alex was brought home 3 days after marcus. The bio dad collected him from the hospital, was in an accident. Went through the windscreen.
2023, and I'm glad I had a chance to watch this in Netflix. They finally release from the BONDAGE of their mom... I cried and yes this documentary is really heartbreaking. I am happy they are both and great Dads. The love of Marcus to protect and lie is really a toll for him, but I'm glad they were able to finally settle from the claws of their horrible mom.
I think they have a sister and another brother but only the 3 boys was abuse but the twin didn’t know that he was abuse too, and the brother didn’t know they were abuse. Something like that.

These two are extraordinary human beings. They pulled through and build successful lives through sheer will power and also love for each other. So very articulate and intelligent.
their mom is rotting in hell.
Such a great brother 👏🏻 he made me cry at the end
What also is missing from the doc is that the mother also abused their younger half brother and half sister as well. In fact as I understand it, it was the half brother who made the initial disclosure thinking he was the only victim
Thanks for sharing. I wonder why they didn’t, all four, share their story. I believe the Step-Father had to have known.
@@Thatgirl1965 Probably because the other two didnt want to be public about it.
Fiona Kumari Campbell Of course they have to respect their siblings privacy
I think that could be the reason why Alex asked Marcus if they had been abused by their mother or not. In the documentary I didn't understand why all of a sudden Alex asked that question when they were already 32.
I watched this a few days ago, it broke my heart. What a fantastic brother ❤️
In another interview Marcus said in general the step father as extremely unkind and not a very nice person at all.
I’ll never for get the anguish in Marcus face!
Marcus's pain broke my heart, I adore his love for Alex.
As a twin that went through abuse in a church this documentary was really hard to watch
😢
This got my interest so I watched the documentary. And all this time I thought my family was F***Ed up. Clearly, I had no idea.
I've seen this and i cried. It was heartbreaking and traumatic but Marcus was so kind to spare Alex of their pasts
Alex is fortunate, even though Marcus made a mistake his intentions and motives were good, Marcus is worthy of trust but is limited by his own recovery challenges.
I do not think Marcos made a mistake. He stayed silent out of love.
Marcus shows such love for his brother...
All the Best for them. So brave. Cried the show all the way till the end.
I watched this and it brought about memories I burried so long ago. I feel like I'm dead inside.
So sorry to hear this. So many of us suffered.
🌸🌸
Looks like their mom withheld her motherly abilities and love by keeping them separate from the house and not letting anyone getting close to actually love those boys. It's so sad makes me mad too. So amazing they turned out so well. The mom looked like a man in a lot of ways I found that very interesting. I wonder what happened to their bio dad.
He died in a car accident, 3 days after they were born. Alex was brought home 3 days after marcus. The bio dad collected him from the hospital, was in an accident. Went through the windscreen.
@@AshLoRo Wow. okay maybe things would have been different for the boys if the dad was around.
@Zillion X How well I know that I wish I had had that.
Twins have a special bond! This is proof ! 🇮🇪
I can still barely talk about it and I'm 54 years old
I am 72 and can still hardly talk about it.
Motorcycles are awful. A boy who had grown up in my building died at 18.
2023, and I'm glad I had a chance to watch this in Netflix. They finally release from the BONDAGE of their mom... I cried and yes this documentary is really heartbreaking. I am happy they are both and great Dads. The love of Marcus to protect and lie is really a toll for him, but I'm glad they were able to finally settle from the claws of their horrible mom.
oh... so the “father” is actually their stepfather ?
yes their mother married twice. they have younger step siblings
@@brightskysyl3913 I wonder if their half younger siblings was abused too- and if they had to help raise them a both after their mother’s death.
I think they have a sister and another brother but only the 3 boys was abuse but the twin didn’t know that he was abuse too, and the brother didn’t know they were abuse. Something like that.
These are amazing people. Such a strong bond that a monster could never destroy. Much love and happiness for the rest of your lives
I realy respect these wonderful brothers bless u. Both and ur famliys xxxxxx
This is so beautiful and so heartbreaking. 💕 😢
