28,000 pounds, damn that's light, i mean heavy
Porsche did 9/11
dangit
I knew it
+Sebastian Bach gotta love the Germans
Steal beams don't melt Porsches
+Sebastian Bach NO, u dont SAY
You seem like an awesome dude... You've earned my subscription...
but he doesn't reply that often :(
I don't think you quite understand how HP and torque works... HP is just a function of Torque at a given rpm. If the engine reaches max torque before 5252rpm, its got more torque than HP. If it reaches max torque after 5252rpm, theres more HP than torque. Higher redline usually means higher HP to Torque difference. But 1 HP = 1Tq @ 5252rpm.
Thank you for this comment cuz I didn't know that, but always wondered about it
yup. HP = Tq x Rpm / 5252
guess that's why diesels have more torque and lower rev limiter
+JLee yes sir. since most diesels put out peak torque at about 2800rpm, it's roughly half the HP in tq. (325hp, 700lb/ft)
More power :D at least power you notice
That's a very good quality you got on your content, especially if we take a consideration on your 28K subs. Props to you, my man! You have better quality than most of the huge channels.
that engine in that red porshe flat 6 it is from porhes 1977-1983 3.0 litre air-cooled flat-six
+Aleksa Miladinovic had to delete my comment now fu :)
Das crazy
+Heine Jensen sorry man really
English preferred
hahaha
to reduce bogging u could turn up the tire pressure so there's less grip
oh god that front bumper is hideous
Rip
+Gingium ur bad with clutch or if ur doing manual/clutch
+Bananasinpajamas so much man , so much
Minecraft Pro like you can do any bettter
Bananasinpajamas 💩💩💩💩💩🤕🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐
Congrats on 27K my man +Gingium!
only 28.000 pounds! thats nothing! haha, awesome video dude, i subbed :)
man your videos are so cool. i really enjoy them
I was practically yelling "Shorten first gear!" at the screen, and then you did, so I was happy.
I bet those mustangs will crash after leaving a car meet
Beat me to it but right 😂
+Jonah Hayes Right into the crowd
Me and my dad where in a 2015 mustang we where at a car show and his friend in a twin turbo pontiac my dad leaded we tandemed right out of the show i touch the Pontiac's door
+ThatCarGuy 1 suite
1 in every 1 Jonah Hayes try to hard for laughs.
KNOWLEDGE
i like the new editing style :)
+Gingium To get away from the bogging issue, I've found that double-tapping the clutch off the line helps, as well as waiting a fraction of a second after the go to perform the double-clutch.
love this series so much , cant wait till apex is on pc then ill be having some fun
ikr
I cant wait for MODSSS
Gingium it's will be hard for mods to come out because of microsofts stupid drm :(
Love this
I love the built or bought series. Even though it might be hard to test consistently, I think you should try adding a road course for cars like this Ferrari. It could add a whole new challenge for the built car other than just plain acceleration and top speed. Thank you for your consideration!
Look at two episode ago! I did this with a LFA
Oh ill take a look then! why didn't you do it this episode?
LOL DAT FRONT BUMPER
found your visa last night already earned my subscription
Whats the song that you used while fully upgrading the engine called? And great video, love this series
I love how long it took you to figure out 1st gear changes compared to final drive changes.
Also, your videos of Forza still put super and hyper cars to shame as Forza is all about numbers. 1/10th the price in most videos, not to mention the fun in making the car.
thanks for not giviing me tinnitus this time buddy ;)
Hey Gingium, when you use Rear-Engined or AWD cars, you need to just max the revs when you launch. Also, turbos will make you bog down if they produce a lot of boost
Yep! And the gearing was a little messed up too!
This was mind blowing wow......if I can could you do a generation battle between the r34 and r35 like if you haven't already done it......please :)
I think he has done the r33 vs r35 but not r34
You actually just murdered such a beautiful Porsche
Would be cool if when using track cars like the fxx k, you could compare the lap times instead of drag times
Yeah I usually do that with these cars but I didnt have time for it this time
Nice car both of them
Torque doesn't really matter because it always varies. When you change gear, your torque changes.
Imagine it like this: if you try and lift up 300kg you'd probably fail, but if you had a lever, you'd be able to lift it op, which means the power delivery has changed despite you not having any more muscle, but it also happened slower.
When you think about a car with an engine and a gearbox, the gearbox is a lever. So for example if you had an engine making 100Nm at 1000RPM, your gearbox would be sending 200Nm but it would only be spinning at 500RPM. Horsepower is a calculation of how fast you deliver the torque from your GEARBOX to the wheels. The first steam engines on trains only went up to about 10RPM, but they produces about 10000Nm of torque at that RPM. That translates to only 19 horsepower.
If you had an engine that produced 10Nm of torque but produced them at 10000RPM, it would still be able to pull the train, but it would have extremely short gearbox ratios to make up for its lack of Torque and it would still be producing 19 horsepower, that's as much as the massive train engine.
The reason why we don't use little engines for tasks like this is because they are more likely to break as they're running so fast. So if we remove factors like economy or number of gears limits and reliability, we could make a 700NM engine that has 200HP and a 100NM engine that also has 200HP and they would both be as equally matched if they had a gearbox.
+Pumpkin Whisperer Except the faster engine would have a lower gear, and thus a better lever.
The more torque an engine has, the longer the gears can be to make up for it's lack of RPM
If the engine lacks torque but instead has more RPM, it makes up it's lack of Torque by sacrificing RPM by having shorter gears
Imagine 2 fictional engines. Both of those engines have the same amount of horsepower
The first engine goes up to a maximum of 2000RPM and produces 200Torque at 2000RPM
The second engine has 2000Torque but at only 200RPM.
If you use the formula (RPM*Torque) / 5252, you'd get the same amount of horsepower from both of them but at different RPM.
So now lets put a gearbox on them, the first engine has very little Torque compared to the second engine, but it also has superior RPM.
The way it will make up for the lack of Torque is by adding short gear ratios that will for example double the torque but also half the RPM spinning the wheels. If you do that, the amount of torque now spinning the wheels is 400, but the maximum speed they can spin at will be 1000RPM
Engine power calculation:
(RPM*Torque) / 5252
2000 * 200 / 5252 = 76.16 HP
Gearbox conversion calculation:
(RPM*Torque) / 5252
1000 * 400 / 5252 = 76.16 HP
If we put a long gear ratio gearbox, it's going to be harder to spin, but that doesn't matter since it has enough torque to twist it. The question is how fast can it twist it?
Well, if we want the wheels to spin at 1000RPM while the engine is only running at 200RPM, we need a gear that is 10 times longer than the first engine's gearbox.
Engine power calculation:
(RPM*Torque) / 5252
200 * 2000 / 5252 = 76.16 HP
Gearbox conversion calculation:
(RPM*Torque) / 5252
1000 * 400 / 5252 = 76.16 HP
As you can see, by making the gear on the second engine 10 times longer than the gear on the first engine, because of the lack of rpm, it won't spin the wheels any faster than the first engine, and because it sacrificed it's Torque to gain that speed, it's now spinning with just the same amount of Torque as the first engine which without a gearbox had 10 times less Torque.
In conclusion:
Any engines that have the same amount of horsepower but with different torque, can spin the wheels with just as much torque, just as fast, if you have a gearbox. People overlook this because they ignore RPM, which is just as important as Torque.
I'm sorry for the long comment btw
Pumpkin Whisperer The one thing I'd like to point out though, the torque is still irrelevant without RPM. It wont tell you how much work or output the engine is generating. Once you have that RPM number, and the torque number. You have your horsepower number.
The problem is people often only look at the peak horsepower number instead of the power band.
That is true, and it's really important for making a well handling car as well, putting a big turbo makes a lot of power at high end torque but if you go into a turn at a certain RPM, you might get serious wheelspin all of a sudden or no go at all, that 's why I tend to stick with superchargers when it comes to racing cars since the power delivery and curve is much more linear.
0:43 "And it only weighs 28 000 lb" xD
That swapped flat 6 reminds me of a racing Porsche engine, but idk because it doesn't have the "restrictors" that racing engines have.
"It only weighs 28,000 pounds!" ~Gingium.....😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
陈样 well as heavy as a cement truck.lol
We put on some massive weight reduction and managed to get it down to 2300!!!
Gingium lol
Why did you lower the rear tire pressure if it's already bogging?
this should be the 2nd episode of built or bought track editon because the FXX K focuses on da track
If the flywheel is heavy, then the engise revs slower, and revs down slower as well. The other way around if it is light. ;)
put race clutch you dope XD
that front bumper makes it look like a frog
Porsche sounds like someone mowing their lawn
Noooo could you do the 190e next time
Maybe!
+Gingium pls do a 190E
+Gingium. Can you do the amc javlin
pls!!!!
if you used the vw beetle with this engine with a perfect run you can get sub 8s in a 1/4 mile with rear wheel drive although the launch can be tricky to catch because it accelerates so unbelievably quickly and because theres no weight in the front
Is that car rear engine? I never knew!
What song did you use during the engine upgrade montage
In what world is 210 mph not very fast?!
that's pretty slow
Like you? Clearly, because 210 mph is pretty fast for a production car. That is 50 mph shy of the fastest production car.
+Julian Olesky Are you new too cars?
+THE ADVANCED GAMER are you new to English?
Do you own a fucking phone? It's called auto correct
You should put the bought cars on drag tired too and see if it can still be beat
should do built or bought on a track race as well
you got so many rish subscribers haha. or they are just taking pictures of their dads car i guess..
"rish"
oh pardon my spelling mistake "Mistr"
go play your minecraft
Niclas Wehner dont be so rude bro calm down
a mustang isnt very expensive
Bought cars should be cars that an average middle class person can buy. Most of the cars you bought were quite true to that!! :)
hey gingium you should do a viper vs z06 drag build
Gingium, we you make a built or bought video, you should equip the bought car with drag slicks
The point of built or bought is to compare an upgraded car to a fast stock production car
You're right, Subaru had a 3.0 Liter Flat-Six they put into the Legacy, Outback, and SVX.
Awesome! Idk if its this engine tho
you should also change the final drive to 4.10, that gear ratio isnt too short or too long, i have a toyota with 7.71 gears, it does 5mph in 4th gear.
Your subscriber count is going up so quickly. Just 2 or 3 days ago you had around 26000 subs and now you have 27100. Maaaaattteeeeeee....
Ikr! Its awesome and im incredbily greatful
You should do a drag build of the porche
aww... id love to see the mercedes... dad used to have one of those...plez do it in the next video
Ill do one soon!
Awesome man ^^ rly looking forward 😎😂😄
have you already done a test of the same car but get 1 like 10 or 20% more hp and the other 10 or 20% less weight and look whats faster
You should drag build the Subaru Legacy, in Horizon 2 that car had the highest launch and acceleration
Really? Sounds interesting
+Gingium yeah you could almost beat a Hennessy Venom in a drag race on the runway
+Gingium specifically the Legacy RS 1990
That Porsche sounds sexy, not weird
Hell yeah
i was thinking the entire time like the hellcat
yyheeeaaaaaa!
Thanks for posting my trans am bro
That's awesome!!
Your welcome dude, its gorgeous
+Gingium thanks bro. I appreciate it. Wanna race?? Haha
Damn I need to get this game :3
I have it
I also recommend it
do you upgrade the bought cars??
The FXX K? No.
am i right about this? torque is what helps with off the line and lower speed acceleration (which is why the vw touraeg could pull a plane so it basically pulling power) and horsepower is what helps you accelerate at higher speeds (this is what pushes higher hp cars to their max speed and is why the bugatti veyron needs so much hp)
+DEANOGTO Vice Versa. Torque is the twisting power which means it's what make the wheels spin. Horsepower is how much power the Engine has
+DEANOGTO Torque x RPM / 5252= how much work the engine is actually doing. Torque is just a function of horse power and is meaningless as a stand alone number. There's only one number that will tell you how hard the engine is pushing the lever (gear box), and that's horsepower.
now you have to go back and do all the cars that you doubted and redo the gearing lol
Yeah really, its happened so much too...
its here
U should do a power vs handling build
Same exact car but one person upgrades the stock engine all the way
The other person upgrades the platform and handling both upgrade transmission
Not a bad idea, although I feel like the power will def win
+Gingium you should do an original Mini Cooper vs an original fiat
What's the 3.0L F6 from
Wouldn't a heavy flywheel make it loose revs slower not faster? Or am i derping ha.
yes, more weight would carry the the spinning of the flywheel longer
i know it's quicker but doesn't look right without its spoiler
why not the tvr sagaris?
sorry if you never believed shorter 1st gear would help against bogging down and you said that heavy flywheel caused it to rev down quickly, i dont think you understand much of the cars. im not saying its a bad thing and im not judging, but you should reaserch mkre before commenting. someone could actually use it as refference.
lightweight flywheel and very high compression would cause it to rev down very quickly
sounds like an straight piped old mercedes-benz.
have the FFX-K in a track version?
this guy sounds like nick bunyun lmao
That 3.0L F6 was from a Subaru Outback H-6 3.0 VDC
You made 1st shorter but too short lol
Could you do a built vs bought series where you compare track times?
It's difficult because it's hard to get fast with both
I already do that! Two episodes ago was a track one
I don't think you'd really want a whole lot of torque on a circuit car, although I don't really understand torque so I could be wrong
It sounds like a subaru xD
So are you gonna give those Mitsubishi's another shot then?
Ford Escort Cosworth build vs bought pl0x!!!
that would be cool.
Supposedly, the 3.0l F6 is a ford falcon engine or an older model Porsche 997 engine... I think.
What is the name of the outtro?
Revs dropping fast would be from a light flywheel. Not a heavy one.
in drag racing isnt the back supposed to be soft and the front stiff?
Nope, that's terrible for a drag car. It decreases grip and slows the car down like crazy. All drag cars have too be soft in the front
I mean in real life aha.
+DatWhiteNeega so do I.....
If u put the bigger engine in it, would it beat the Bugatti in the quarter mile? would be an interesting video.
Do a drag build with the Ferrari
The reason it won is because of the torque, horse power doesn't matter that much when drag racing. Torque is the most important
Pretty true! Weight also makes a big difference
I have the Ferrari and its hands.down my favorite circuit car
What is the name of the outtro
28,000 pounds?!? xD
no that flat 6 is from a Porsche because Subaru's use flat 4 boxer engines ( means the pistons move sideways not up n down )
What's the outtro song?
Porsche sounds like a superior hellcat
wish you would have done the Benz I own a 2.6 190e
Will the tuned Porsche 911 3.3 win a " TUNED FERRARI FXX-K " ? For sure the FXX-K wil have (+1000HP)
Atleast a porsche...
I think that you shouldn't change the engine because bow almost every time build wins and if you dont swap the bought has maybe more of a chance
True, but then some boughr cars will have no chance to matter what you do. There is no way to make it 100% fair
5:42 song name back from the dead by no copyright sound
10:53 world's slowest quarter-mile time 😂😂
5 minutes
