I have experience of this . Buying a Vintage guitar from a shop like Richards , and they are very very thin on the ground , is a completely superior experience for very little .They intervene and negotiate on your behalf , genuine helpful advice , checking with you that the instrument is the best it can be and the best for you ,setting it up and following it up and getting you another guitar if there's something requiring it . They do this for used guitars as well .Simply they are experts and they are competitive . .

Hey Richard - Great video btw - i have 3 Vintage brand guitars (V65 Reissued hardtail, finished in blonde, a V52 Reissued finished in butterscotch and a V6 Reissued JMH "Jimi Hendrix" finished in olimpic white) - after a "pro" set up, they're fabulous ! - Definately up there with the Fender Player offerings - but much more exclusive .... Keep up the good work !
Recently purchased a Vintage Peter green Les Paul from Richard guitar, excellent guitar, does more than expensive brand guitar. Excellent customer service and support from Richard Guitars....so try Vintage.. you might be surprised. Keep the faith peace ☮️
Ordered Vintage Fillmore V6 for friends 40th birthday circa 4y ago online (before brexit) to Slovenia, EU. They noticed some deviations from a standard quality from a model in the shop - ordered new guitar from Vintage HQ. Richard and his team knows its job. Superb QC and customer care. Guitar made it to Slovenia - absolutly flawless, out of the box, everything was spot on, ready to play! 11/10

I bought the thomas blug and the HSS sunburst v6 from vintage. A few months later i sold my fender 57 and 62 strats. They were not getting played enough after the vintage strats arrived. Says it all.
Yes, but some of the models were clearly scratched, and chipped, and had the paint peeling off, when they're supposed to be good quality and brand new...

Here is where we are with Fret-King..... I am trying to keep them separate in terms of how I communicate but as you will know they have a similar background. The same UK workshop does the fretwork on the Fret-King models as the Vintage CustomPro models so as you say the quality should be excellent. We have just received our first major delivery and the feedback so far is WOW!!!!!!!!! Its just frustrating that we have to delay so much down to things like my displays being made!!! It will take a few weeks to get the Vintage displays fully up and running - along with Fret-King - but its incredibly exciting. Remember though - every single guitar we sell is setup in our workshop - The Vintage Custom Pros will actually be our first ever guitars to be on display ALREADY setup in advance - and will also act as a lovely demonstration of OUR value when buying any guitar - and if you do feel for any reason a Vintage feels better than a Fret-King - well... Needless to say the Fret-King will FEEL just as good by the time you take it away!!! The Fret-Kings also have incredibly versatile wiring along with their beautiful finishes
I own 2 Vintages ( in the my photo) incredible guitars, not sure of the politics of why this brand is not sold in more stores maybe these shops don't want to piss off the Fender and Gibson since their authorise dealers maybe, this is really great news Richards about the Pro Shop this is next step for me as a Vintage owner is purchasing one day a Pro Shop Vintage Model ,
What a brilliant idea. The term 'custom shop' is something guitarists are encouraged to aspire to, but it's close to being a synonym for 'unaffordable' for most. This project should bring the sort of attention to personal preferences, aesthetically and sonically, a bit more within reach. Well done. This is the socialism of the guitar world!

Hi! Sadly my life circumstances have been rather unbelievable - including and not exclusively.... blind, diabetic mother in law now living with us requiring 24/7 support, spending 7 months sleeping in log cabin at end of garden (all through winter lol) , 3 children all having to leave mainstream education and dealing with ADHD / Autism diagnoses and living with an extension being built on the back of my house so my wife and I can return back to sleeping in our own home lol..... Life has been..... interesting..... The joys of being 50!!!!! Building work is 85% done - we are back in our house and being able to care for the mother in law is getting easier - so more time - and hopefully focus - to enable me to enjoy chatting to you guys again :)

Like all mass produced mass market generic models, some Vintage pieces are going to be duds. But that's true of Gibsons and Fenders, too. They're generally well put together guitars, are fun to play and excellent value. It's why I have several that I'm unlikely to ever give up, because they cost me little, but they're worth so much more. I hope by extending your service into the mass market you sell bucket loads of them, Richard. Matching prices seems insane, but fair play to you and I hope all your higher end punters appreciate that dealing with the 'riff raff' may well ensure you're for them in the future. Sounds like an exciting time for you. Best of luck.
Why do Vintage guitars come with small Alpha pots? I mean, installing cheap electronics in otherwise fine guitars, makes no sense to me!?

Dude!! I bought a vintage icon lemon drop from your online shop with the added £100 set up about four years ago. I had that guitar for nearly four years and it went from the UK to Sweden to Iceland and Svalbard. The only thing I ever had to do to that guitar was change strings. The set up was immaculate and the service is second to none. Now I want another one with the custom pro set up as I stupidly sold the other one. Just for reference, the vintage shared space with a USA Jackson soloist and an Ibanez prestige and got the same if not more playtime. Will be ordering soon.
That’s an amazing story !!! Well hopefully the good news is I am working on this today and soon every vintage guitar on the website will give you the option of upgrading to custom pro at a fixed cost 😊
My V75 is shoddy at best. Total fail at nearly the same price as an MIM Fender. Neck is decent, neck pocket worst I’ve seen and lots of body seams and sanding marks hiding under the paint. Bummer and never again…
I’d suggest you have a good look around at comments on them and contrasts those to your personal experience . We all have bad experiences and I will bet my reputation on providing you a better guitar for less money than a Fender - guaranteed 100%

I have a vintage made in the 80s or earler have a seymour 59 zebra in neck & trembucker in the bridge, will shelve my chapman ml2 to heavy.
