Although the cafe appears to be quiet, clean and peaceful, I do believe the owls are being well looked after, yet I personally prefer to see these winged creatures in the wild!
I visited the Owlcafe Tokyo Akiba Fukurou around 15 Times since 2019. I love the place and it is very clear the Animal are very well looked after and treated with Love. They make sure that they have enough breaks and they limit the amount of people who can enter per Hour. 10/10 from me.
What a sad life these owls must live. Being poked and prodded for 6 hours a day, feeling anxious about people and other owls (smaller owls are often preyed upon by bigger ones in the wild). I doubt they have enough space in Akihabara to have an enriching environment to spend the rest of their time (like a large aviary for flying), especially as not many of these species can be housed together. So they probably stay in cages out the back the rest of the time. They deserve a better life.
Though I agree that so many different species of owls should probably not be in this close vicinity of each other, they all at least look healthy and well taken care of.
They are very cute, but it is not respectful to see them chained. Also, as one commenter already mentioned, owls sleep at day. They might be stressed but they dont Show it. I ❤ owls, so please treat them respectful not for attraktion ony. Humane often be not aware of how to go with other creatures.
nice to see how quiet they keep it for the owls. and only saw one that had pulled some feathers out, so they are careful not to stress them either. what a neat place!!
Owls are my favorite birds. They DO NOT belong in a cafe even though they appear to be cared for. They belong in the wild where they can live and fly free.
Thankfully it's not what we first assumed. If it was, the owls would have plucked their feathers from the stress. From the condition of their feathers, I'd say they are taken care of right. The "chains" are just tethers that are commonly used as bird leashes
I would not boast about visiting hell for birds that require plenty of space, ability to fly (or have the owners brought their wings?). And owls eat other owls, including their own kin.
Those owls are shackled to that bar..literally. What could be more dismal than their reality. They would never be hanging out..all lined up like that, and different species too. They are nocturnal and would not be awake in the daytime, and they are forced to live in an “owl cafe”, to be gawked over by humans getting pet..and while they are trying to sleep. They cannot move. They have no choices they can make at all…it’s worse than a zoo..much. They can not fly, they can sit and endure this day after day, being carried to one person or another…awful
Business hours are from 12pm to 6pm. At other times, the owls are bathing, sunbathing, and flying freely. Also, cleaning is done for 4 hours every day. It is kept clean. It's true that there are no perfect environments like in the wild, but the owl cafe owners are doing their best to accommodate them.
There is a channel Yoll, Russian channel, but she has also videos jus showing owls starting from the eagle owl Yoll who was born in captivity and purchased for repelling birds at the airport (did not work).
these owls are well fed, well taken care of, healthy, and yet you'll find dudes in here believing they have an awfull life... ignorance trully is bliss
I love owls. They might miss their freedom. I don't know. Owls can only fly away in nature if they dislike. They seem to like people there, but - do they really ? I would open a window there and see tomorrow, which owl is still remaining here tomorrow
I get the impression owning owls is legal in Japan. Am I correct? Is it like owning a dog, cat, hamster, etc.? Unfortunately, in the USA, we can't own owls.
> "I felt the store's love for owls." I highly doubt that Also, owls are night-active creatures. They aren't supposed to be woken up during the day, it stresses them out. I'd rather see them flying freely during the night in a huge cage that's at least as big as a tennis court, with a few tables and chairs in the middle, than a small store where they have to be chained up next to each other. It might seem like they don't mind, but they can't express their emotions in words.
Business hours are from 12pm to 6pm. At other times, the owls are bathing, sunbathing, and flying freely. Also, cleaning is done for 4 hours every day. It is kept clean. I don't like this idea. Would human beings like being touched and bothered constantly; this is cruel. Held captive to entertain humans. I don't see the point. I just wonder if a person would like to be taken to a cafe to be touched constantly by strangers and scolded if they don't go along. I don't think so. After all aren't humans always going on about how they need their personal space.
Wildlife should never be kept under such circumstances - it is cruel and distasteful. Even if the birds are fed regularly, such a scenario would be stressful for them and a gross violation of their natural course of existence, depriving them of natural behaviour. It was painful to watch this video.
Owls are nocturnal animals and should not be sitting in an overexposed cafe during the day. They need a variety of food such as mice, insects, small birds, etc. Some owls roost during the winter, but here they are still in an overexposed cafe. Wild animals are not there for the amusement and benefit of people, this is really sad. They are owls that cannot be owls.

Awful 😢

Get back to work and pay more taxes. You're more a slave than these owls.
@@jesslauren8031besides, I’m sure there’s a reason these birds are there; it’s possible they can’t be returned to the wild
I didn't realize there are so many more varieties of owls ‼
They all are super cute / beautiful ❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣
Most of them are very cute
Owls sleep in daytime and are active at night. Forcing them to deal with the customers in daytime is like exploiting their sleep.
It may indeed be impossible to create a near-wild environment.🥲
However, it is designed so that owls are not stressed.🦉
This is pure exploitation to amuze tourists. They do not belong in a cafe.

Cute and all but I fear they suffer from sleep deprivation. Maybe the shop should put there some other kind of animal.
Isn't that a bit stressful for the owls?
I'm also not aware that owls are cuddly animals

@@JapanAnimalTravels With all due respect, all I can see is an aim at making profit at the expense of wild animals. A zoo would be bad enough. Absurd.
