      Get two tight ends whocan stretch the field and block decent u can line em up in single back set either run the ball or just send the tight ends on basic go routes don't want the qb under the center put him the the gun it's a very op offense use ya brain see backer or safety coming up set ya te or tes to pass protect

      Think think d in any kind of zone put one of ya receivers in motion dB travels with that's man basically if he don't that's a zone I should be an oc I'd be bad ass for a bit till the nfl figures it out the genius to it all is ya get the defense stuck in their base defense. He's using just 1 tight end use 2 you will ruin teams if you have really good tight ends man

    Hello Coach, I have a question. If they try to blitz a linebacker, then can you utilize a fullback in your offense in order to look out for the blitzing linebacker because you want to prevent a sack or turnover if he gets to the qb. It's always a smart idea to block the blitzing linebacker so your qb can have enough time in the pocket to throw the ball down the field against a man to man defense.

    Hi coach what do you actually call the last jet sweep play in the huddle or at the line. Just wondering trying to keep consistent with our play calls

    • @CoachMcKie
      @CoachMcKie  8 років тому

      Hey coach, we don't huddle so I call it from the side line. All I do is tag our run play with the wide receiver. So for this it would be F-Zelda Coke.
      The line knows that when they hear Coke that the backside tackle is locked on. So we kill two birds with one stone. Coke is a route to the wide receiver and a tag for the back side tackle.

    Hey Coach, I'm an assistant coach at a high school that one day hopes to have his own program or at least be a Varsity OC. When i was in High school the team i played for ran the spread and i loved it. It's the type of offensive i want to run one day. I've been trying to put together a play book and system for present to the school i coach at now because i know the varsity head coach and Vars OC are planning on retiring in the next two years. They are prepping the JV head coach to take his place and i work with him on JV. He just runs their system for now but when the switch happens i'd love for him to move to the spread. So basically i have two questions. 1, when i was playing in HS my school ran the spread it was no huddle obviously like majority of spreads and we had wrist bands with our jobs for each play on the bands so basically our coach would scream the formation from the sideline then scream red 7 and you'd find red 7 on your band and it would tell you your job like it would say 5 yard out or block most dangerous man, etc. I see a lot of schools now use hand signals and boards, i was curious on how you communicate the formations, motions & plays to your players? 2, I never ran RPOs in HS but i love them and want to use them. I'm worried with RPOs, Runs, Pass & Screen Plays it is hard for all the plays to be learned by the children and get enough repetition in practice. Also with how i previously stated with the bands, only being able to fit so many plays on the bands worries me. My question is do you run any normal run plays? or just RPOs and abandon short pass plays and certain screens because they're built into your RPO system? I was a senior in HS in 2012 so i know it was quite a while ago and i just got into coaching the past 3 years and the school i coach at runs a power 3 back system so i'm not up to date with the newest spread offense systems. Love the videos really helping me alot!!!!!!

    Been lucky to have some TE's in the past that could play in-line, in the slot, and in the backfield. Ran Air Raid with TE's in all three spots to pass and run the ball. You can't run stick, mesh, Y-Cross, Sail, 6 with a TE. Most DC's hate it when you can line 1 player up in 3 positions like that.

    • @CoachMcKie
      @CoachMcKie  4 роки тому +1

      Are you saying you can't run those with a TE? Or with? And I agree with you about DCs hating lining up a TE at different spots.

    • @dalecarlson7294
      @dalecarlson7294 4 роки тому

      With. In fact I prefer to use a TE. Creates the extra gap for the def to defend in the run game. Plus, if the TE is capable of moving out to the slot or aligned as the single WR to the boundary you can really stress the def. haven’t always had that type of player but when we did our offense was at a different level.

    Does your O-line blocking rules for front-side and back-side stay the same for an odd front?

    • @CoachMcKie
      @CoachMcKie  8 років тому

      Hey Coach,
      Yes, I try to make the rules the same regardless of the front. I find that it makes it easier for my kids. And if it's easier for my kids then they play faster.

    So how do you prevent illegal pick play if the wr are blocking downfield with the h back catching the ball across the line of scrimmage?

    • @CoachMcKie
      @CoachMcKie  2 роки тому

      Catch it behind the line of scrimmage

    • @AlaskanBallistics
      @AlaskanBallistics 2 роки тому

      @@CoachMcKie okay but you said he was running 3 yards deep into the flat.

    • @AlaskanBallistics
      @AlaskanBallistics 2 роки тому

      @@CoachMcKie but that brings up another question. How do you keep from getting illegal lineman downfield penalties running the RPO all a lb would have to do is engage the lineman's block at 4 yards, flag everytime.
      Are you counting on downhill flow from the linebackers that much?

      Hey Coach,
      I use Hudl. They have a section where you can draw up plays and save them. It's a neat feature they have. And thanks for taking the time out of your day to watch my videos. Appreciate it.

  • @danieldavanzo3906
    @danieldavanzo3906 6 років тому +1

    Coach your videos are great. However, mostly everything you do is vs a 2 High Look. We see a lot of 44 1 high defense. Is your only check vs a 1 high the "pick play", does the 44 defense get you out of all your RPO stuff?

    • @CoachMcKie
      @CoachMcKie  6 років тому +1

      Hey coach, I don't try up the RPO against one high that much because that's when we attack with the pass. For Verts, Y Cross, Y Sail-those are the things I call when I see one high because that means the defense is weak against the pass.

    Hey coach!
    My name is Antonio and I am joining tackle football for the first time.
    I did flag for three years, and I made the team for tight end
    Now I am 12, but I’m 5’10” and 145 pounds and my coaches don’t really know how to utilize me
    And they run spread, so usually I’m in flex if I’m not on the line
    Any advice?
    Thanks for the great content

    Hey Coach,
    WHat is that program you use to draw up the plays?

  • @andrewclarke3044
    @andrewclarke3044 7 років тому

    First time I've heard that called wham. I have wham variations off of IZ. Where the H-Back Will trap an interior lineman. IZ rules don't change linemen just have to rennet don't block the trap man. When the H-Back Kicks the end it's called Slice. Doesn't necessarily have to be a split flow action though.

    • @CoachMcKie
      @CoachMcKie  7 років тому

      +Andrew Clarke I don't know where I headed Whack from but it stuck with me. How many tags do you have for your Inside zone when your H back is in the game?

    • @andrewclarke3044
      @andrewclarke3044 7 років тому +1

      wham - Trap interior defensive lineman
      slice - kick backside defensive end
      lead - lead block on LB through playside A gap
      load - arc around backside defensive lineman and block first LB/S/Cb to show.
      slip - he slips across formation away from inside zone, and runs into the flats. receivers stalk.

    • @CoachMcKie
      @CoachMcKie  7 років тому

      Coach Clarke,
      Do you carry all of those tags into the game, or do you select a few for each game?

    • @andrewclarke3044
      @andrewclarke3044 7 років тому

      Coach McKie depends on how I want to attack the defense. If they have a stud linebacker I'm gonna have my H-Back smack him in the mouth by running more lead plays. If the stud is at DE I'll run more slice and Load variations. If their stud is at DT I'll run more wham trap variations.
      The great thing about wham is the DT don't expect to get blocked and blindsided by an H Back. It really surprises them.
