  • On 25th of May 2024 Simon's Train Adventures had heard that the Branchline Society were running another exciting diesel railtour, titled the Hanson Hanse, near where we live.
Simon is a big fan of Francis Bourgeois' videos in which he chases a railtour and has been very keen to have a go at this. So we started early and headed from Twyford to Reading to see the Hanson Hanse come dieseling through. Then, after spotting a pair of class 57s pulling the Cornish Night Riveria back through Reading, we hopped on a fast train to London and raced the railtour to King's Cross, overtaking it in Slough. It was a very exciting morning and we were very happy to see the train twice.

    Train tastic video Simon ⭐🌟✨.
Those class 50 diesels sure are loud 📢.
Was Francis Bourgeois the inspiration of this trip?
It was a great feature that you recreated the same tour in the train shed at the end of the film.
I also saw your photos on Facebook and its fantastic 😍.
I was at my favourite train store yesterday, and I not only bought books as well as video tapes but also two vinyl records which are very rare and hard to find. And I got to see Puffing Billy as well. The loco I've seen NGG 129 was actually built in Manchester in 1950 by Beyer peacock for use in South Africa. It was delivered to Puffing Billy and had a 20 year restoration and returned to service in 2019.
    Keep your steam up Simon
    Cheers.

Thanks Kevig. Yes Simon has been really inspired by Francis Bourgeois’s videos. I hope we can do this again with a steam train some time.
Hope you enjoyed your recent train adventures too!
