  • I bought this pair of beautiful "Holland" (claimed by LFS) blue ram recently. I gave away my black mollies in this tank and gave this tank for this pair, it paid off. Their first spawn was on a flat rock I provided, the second on a coconut shell I added. The first spawn was unsuccessful ( or so I think, I don know whether the fry got sucked in my filter). The second was also unsuccessful I thought till I saw free swimming fry. I was keenly watching the eggs and waiting for them to hatch around 48 hours, when I did not see any wrigglers, I thought the parents are fry eaters. Actually they had picked each hatching fry and hid among the dwarf grass. Five days later they emerged from the dwarf grass. Enjoy.

+Carl Nuqui , Thanks Carl. Its a completely natural planted tank. No Co2 injection. No chemical filter. No water changes. Only a mechanical filter and weekly top-ups of evaporated water. Thanks again.

Jose Rivera Hi, I did not separate them at all. Once a few months old, i gave away the fry to a local fish shop. But only about 20% survived. More might have survived if in a bigger tank i think.

Hi, i no longer have this tank. This was a 10 gallon tank. I use the walsted planted tank method. No water change, no ph/kh etc testing. So i do not know. The tap water ph is 8.1, i only add a dechlorinator. I have kept guppy, mollies, platies, angels, rams and discus in tanks with this method. I just top up water every week to compensate for evaporation loss.
