About the Homunculi: Greed talked about the others in terms of centuries but it is said in this episode Wrath is new to the group, he's near 60 and he's the only homunculus that gets older. For some reason, he's unique.
I love how Greed just shows up for two episodes and dumps a bunch of information, roasts the hell out of the deadly sins, and gets turned into a drink. Truly ✨Iconic ✨
I mean, when you're about to get boiled in molten lava, you really don't have much to lose. So in for a penny, in for a dollar or however that saying goes. And let's be serious, Greed got roasted the most out of all of them... 😏
Sloth is not just laziness. The definition of sloth as laziness is basically a watered down and catch all definition of sloth. Sloth is a translation of the Latin word Acedia. So sloth is essentially: Wasted potential (knowing you have the ability do something but deciding not to act) Apathy (not just the definition of not caring about others but also not caring about the world or your place within it. Indifference to work( this is where laziness comes from but it also means idleness and indolence, even though the latter two essentially mean laziness. But if I got something wrong or omitted anything, please, someone correct me.
Played a game where enemies had a Seven Deadly Sins theme. Their "Sloth" was a skilled warrior who was titled Sloth because he had not done anything to stop his mother from being killed in a war
I have seen other reactors say the main/most powerful homunculi are most likely either pride or wrath, because of how those sins make for a compelling antagonist (or in some cases protagonist). That's why most people would guess either of those two sins on top in a setting with the seven sins. I am inclined to agree with that take. Also note how pride was the main sin of lucifer and we often talk about the wrath of god.
I love how Kenny says "It feels like something big is about to happen; it feels like we're getting to that point." And I'm over here like "Bro y'all got 50 episodes left, you have NO idea."

Gotta love it when a new character comes in, dumps a bunch of info and then dies. RIP Greed. Also a note about Galaxy Brain Hughes; after being attacked by Lust, Hughes goes to get a secure military line and says, "I have to tell the Fuhrer." But after a moment's thought he goes to a civilian phone line and calls Mustang. I don't think Hughes worked out that Bradley was a homunculus, but something occurred to him that made him decide to not trust Bradley.

The reason he didn't use the military line is because he knew that it was a conspiracy being run from within the government, so the people responsible, whoever they may be, could easily be listening in on those lines.
@@KorAsek453 I checked the episode again and I had the timing wrong. Hughes says it right as Lust walks in and I think he's still trying to contact Bradley until he hangs up the military phone and walks out.

If you recall, when Ed was talking with Truth his leg was taken as the price, and it appeared taking the place of Truth's leg. Al's whole body did the same.
Although Greed's henchmen are kind of supposed to be the bad guys (with them being against Ed and Al) I really like how they're shown to genuinely care for each other.
To further this point, in the manga when talking about Ed, Al had said something to the affect that Ed was not with him and they had misinterpreted it to mean that Ed was no longer alive. Upon hearing this they all actually tried to offer condolences to Al. So yeah absolutely they are not bad guys. Even Greed is not so bad.
@@SubzeroBlack68 Where did you get that idea? Greed specifically said he wanted to put HIS OWN soul in an armour body, he never mentioned anything about doing it to his henchmen.
People have already mentioned it in the comments, but he's actually named King and his position in the government as a ruling figure is as the Fuhrer. So he's Fuhrer: King Bradley.

Been eagerly awaiting this episode from you guys. The Bradley/Wrath reveal and then Father hosting his children "The Sins" are among the best reveals in the series. Love you guys reactions.
The thing that gets me with this is in the original anime Martyl actually ends up spending several episodes with Al, so they start to bond and spend time together for a bit. I always wished they kept that story beat in here, makes her death hit harder imo.
Personally Sloth never came off as strange because the way that sin was explained to me made perfect sense: so most people undestand what sloth "is" but not "why" it is a sin namely that humans have the potential to do everything they want but actively choose to indulge in laziness and excess for example a naturally gifted man that could be winning competitions and inspiring people but instead spends his days avoiding any effort. As a matter of fact most sins behave like this to some extent including wrath aka getting angry and hateful, holding resentments, etc; all that is normal but acting on this feeling alone without "patience" (the cardinal virtue opposite of wrath) is what contitutes the sin of wrath
I think people exclusively think sloth the sin with sloth the animal is the same think. Which is slow. True but the sin is human..it is chose to be slow even though they can do it normally. The correct translation is to be apathetic, lethargic kinda energy which will have the by-product as looking like a slow "attitude"

I love the discussion counters(plus timers), it reduces the post episode verdict time while keeping you engaged with a span of time to expect. The discussions are very to the point and interesting.
I'm not sure if you understand what happened in the human transmutation. Ed and Al tried to remake their mother's body out of chemical components. When Al lost his body, it was to pay for his soul to be bound to the thing they made. But the thing couldn't hold life and died. Then Ed put Al in the armor. Also, Bradly being Wrath makes a lot of sense after you find out what Hughes learned.
The body also contained the blood of the brothers giving a connection for als soul to temporarily latch onto before Ed put his soul into the armour. Or that’s how it’s always been explained to me.
Man, it's been a while since I've watched FMAB and for some reason, the show felt longer when I watched it last like it took longer to hit these plot points. Yet here we are on episode 14. Still can't wait to see them react to the rest of the series
Let's be real. King Bradley is an equivalent to Batman or Captain America - A human being trained to human perfection. And on top of that, he basically has a Sharingan.
The sins aren't exactly just being jealous, having desire for someone or something The sins are the excess of it. Greed is wanting something and hurting those in your path for it. Wrath isn't being angry, its this deep down red hot anger that burns everyone that comes near you. In both religious speaking and in this show, moderation, being human, is everything. Not extending into Godhood or falling for the Seven Desires. It isn't wrong to want, its wrong to hoard, hurt others for your desires, to have no problem accomplishing something and yet not doing it (like how Sloth was giant and hulking but is the one working, he CAN move, CAN put in work, but refuses to)
When I first watched this show, I was really surprised by the reveal of Fuhrer: King Bradley as Wrath. And that was nothing when it came to the shock I felt with the introduction of Pride. And I think you will be too.
Re: Führer King Bradley 7:50 He's not the King, King is his first name (with his title/position being Führer). As for why he's that good, when you have an ultimate eye...
The one thing that really disappointed me about Brotherhood was how quick Greed and his crew died. Martel was so cool in the first series that I wanted thier roles expanded even.
So far you've heard "ultimate" shield, eye, spear (Lust's finger jabby skill), etc. In philosophical Theodicy the problem set is: How can Evil be reconciled if God is all-seeing, all-knowing, and all-powerful? If Evil is allowed to exist, then one of God's "omni" traits (omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence) HAS to be false. Example: If God KNOWS about Evil and doesn't stop it, he isn't Good. If he CAN'T stop evil he isn't omnipotent. The author of this manga is a literary GENIUS.
@@houseofaction Just laying out the problem set. Roughly speaking, those are the parameters. Everything else is subject to proofing and argumentation. HINT: It has been an ongoing conversation for several hundred years so I doubt a UA-cam thread will resolve it for anyone. For more interest, check out books on Theodicy, you will find sentiments from all angles from agnosticism to faith and even the atheistic. FMAB approaches this theme pretty well, as a whole, and even intelligently.
I always find interesting how the homunculi react to greed death. They dont look away but seems afected by the scene of an homunculus dying. Specially lust and envy.
All of these early episodes are overflowing with foreshadowing, but there are many, _MANY_ things that could be spoiled just from the information gained from this episode in particular. But I won't, and nobody else better not, either! So, remember how Hughes tried to call Bradley from a Central Command phone before he was murdered, but changed his mind and went for the _outside_ phone to call Mustang? Turns out he knew what he was doing... The leader of the country is one of the villains, which raises _all kinds_ of questions. I love Wrath. He's not my favorite character, or even favorite Homunculus. But any time he fights, you're always in for a show. This was just an introduction into what he's capable of; the mask comes off _just_ enough and you get a hint of how dangerous he truly is. It's not just because of his observational skills, ruthlessness, speed, cunning, or all those swords. It's because he's the most human; unlike the others, he really _is_ approaching retirement age, and he's got a family and a public life. But whenever you're around him, something just feels... off. And you won't know why until it's too late. He has firm control of his nature; he's calm and serene, but that's because he knows _exactly_ how to focus that rage. As someone who went to therapy for extreme anger issues, I understand that very well. Blind rage is ineffective and easy for others to manipulate. But if you take a step back, be mindful, and understand what you're angry about and _why,_ you can focus that energy to handle problems with incredible, ruthless clarity. It's no coincidence that he has the Ultimate Eye. And yeah, RIP Greed. Out of all the villains, he was the most likeable. Mainly because he knew what he wanted, and knew how to charm people to get it. Sure, he was manipulative and self-absorbed, but unlike Wrath, at least he was nice and honest about it.
Was he really trying to call Bradley? I thought he was trying to call Mustang all along but thought it would be safer for Mustang to get a call from an outside line. 🤔 I’ll have to rewatch.
@@cookiedestroyer2801 Yes, there is. Go back and watch Separate Destinations, and pay close attention to what Hughes says right before he gets attacked by Lust. "Who could've orchestrated something as terrible as this? I've gotta tell the Fuhrer right away."
@@J10969 Yeah, it's easy to miss. Listen closely to what Hughes says right before Lust appears. "Who could've orchestrated something as terrible as this? I've gotta tell the Fuhrer right away." But when he picks up the Central Command phone, he pauses and puts it back. This is because he realizes that Central Command has been compromised. There's no possible way someone like Lust could just waltz into Central and assassinate an officer without being noticed. She would've needed help from an insider, or was inside all along. This also hearkens back to what Bradley says to Hughes, Armstrong, and the Elrics at the hospital after the destruction of the 5th Laboratory. He mentions that despite having a vast network of informants, he has no idea how far the ranks have been infiltrated... despite stating that "nothing gets past me" just minutes beforehand. All that combined with what Hughes figured out in the archive room (I won't go into specifics because of spoilers) made him realize that he couldn't trust Bradley.
Finally watching on my phone and can comment! I am SO psyched you’re doing this show. It is my fav anime. Feels metal alchemist. It’s shocking how graphic it can be at times. As you’ve seen. I’m LOVING the first time reaction from Kenny. (I’ve watched your atla reactions a couple of times now) and it’s so fun to see how expressive you are when you don’t know what coming. (That was fun at times too) You’ve gotta hold fast with the breakneck speed this show comes at you with. And you’ve gotta hold fast for the feels that are yet to come. Wish I could afford Patreon right now so I could watch ahead but there is an aspect of anticipation that I miss with streaming these days. I just can’t get over how much I’m enjoying your reactions. How did you feel about greed’s death? he was literally melted down like scrap gold and consumed. And Bradley’s mad skills. We’ve seen tiny tastes of it this far but I remember being so shook at how terrifying he was. But it says something about dictators and warlords and politicians. They may be terrible people but that doesn’t mean they treat their families poorly. Or some may seem as saviours but also beat their wives or something else horrible. What face does he put on for all the various aspects of his life? Can’t wait for more!!
I love how perceptive you two are and figuring stuff out as your watching where most figure it out when they reveal the answer later. Also, their sacrifice candidates have something in common, but that’s already saying too much while trying to be vague
Trying to avoid spoiling anything, but something to keep in mind as things are revealed is Eastern philosophies on 'internal' and 'external' energies like chi and Feng Shui. While alchemy is very much treated as a science in the show, it also borrows heavily from those ideas. They'll be important for understanding some plot points a bit bbetter.
Wrath doesn't really mean having a short temper is either. That's just irritation. If we compare it to ideas of wrath in Biblical stories, for example, wrath is deep and devastating - entire cities wiped out, every firstborn child in Egypt killed, the world flooded and killing everyone except for one family and one breeding pair of each animal - that kind of thing.
You're the only reactors to FMA I've seen so far to notice that Truth took Al's body. Notice how whenever Ed sees Truth, he has the missing limbs as well, so it's the same situation. And I'm only saying this because I see on the playlist you've made to the end of the series: Ken, you are a genius for calling it that Father was trying to remove his "sins" by creating the Homunculi, and Montana was also correct in that it was a flawed endeavor.
Someone has to have posted this already, but just in case, in traditional alchemy a homunculus was a being built out of the alchemist’s tissue, typically the core human fluids like blood, tears, the more unmentionables, and it served as sort of part servant, part familiar, and as an extension of the alchemist. However in this context Montana’s psychological reference isn’t far off. While not referring to the overtly physical, you can see how the homunculus physically express aspects of the psyche as represented through the traditional seven deadly sins.
importing editing tip use roto scoping for your cut out instead of masking its mostly found in after effects but its a super clean way for you to cut your selfs out of the background
If it's true that the Elric Brothers father is also the Father of the Homunculie. That would technically mean that the Homunculie are Ed and Al's siblings.
I have since this show in it's entirety over ten times, read it once, and I never made that connection that is the truth grabbing Al. That makes crazy sense because the truth takes Ed's leg and shows he now has it, since Al sacrifices his whole body the truth now is his body which means the gate is a circle they circle back to the truth 15:04

I love the discussion counters(plus timers), it reduces the post episode verdict time while keeping you engaged with a span of time to expect. The discussions are very to the point and interesting.
Just like ed originally saw his leg appear on truths body, al was reaching out and the body he lost grabbed the arm he was about to lose
Despite being the newest/youngest of the Homunculie. Wrath is the most visibly aged. Quite ironic.
title: Furher (military leader)
first name: King
last name: Bradley
He wears no crown.
Of course he doesn't. It wouldn't stay on his head
🤣🤣🤣 the music intensifying when you guys are piecing things together just 👌👌
Man, it's been a while since I've watched FMAB and for some reason, the show felt longer when I watched it last like it took longer to hit these plot points. Yet here we are on episode 14. Still can't wait to see them react to the rest of the series
Let's be real. King Bradley is an equivalent to Batman or Captain America - A human being trained to human perfection. And on top of that, he basically has a Sharingan.
Yeah but trained from birth, while batman was trained from when he was a child/ adult
5:38 "I live for strong man fights."
Boy howdy, do we have one for you later on...
I was just thinking this !! Since Kenny and Montana I watched ahead and oh boy….
The sins aren't exactly just being jealous, having desire for someone or something
The sins are the excess of it. Greed is wanting something and hurting those in your path for it. Wrath isn't being angry, its this deep down red hot anger that burns everyone that comes near you.
In both religious speaking and in this show, moderation, being human, is everything. Not extending into Godhood or falling for the Seven Desires. It isn't wrong to want, its wrong to hoard, hurt others for your desires, to have no problem accomplishing something and yet not doing it (like how Sloth was giant and hulking but is the one working, he CAN move, CAN put in work, but refuses to)
I like how kenny casually mentioned Yu-Gi-Oh. One of my favourite animes, I love seeing y'all react >3
THE PREVIEW! Can't wait for them to meet all the Xingese badasses
i love how everyone at this point always forgets and is reminded that the elrics were clueless about hughes death
To note. Bradley is not a "king". King is his given first name. Fuhrer is his title. While King is simply his first name. If that makes sense
When I first watched this show, I was really surprised by the reveal of Fuhrer: King Bradley as Wrath. And that was nothing when it came to the shock I felt with the introduction of Pride. And I think you will be too.
You guys should think about the homunculus/deadly sins and their power. Which related to their sins. It is so well thought!!!
Bradley’s plot twist was crazy
Re: Führer King Bradley 7:50
He's not the King, King is his first name (with his title/position being Führer). As for why he's that good, when you have an ultimate eye...
I love how analytical the comments are
The one thing that really disappointed me about Brotherhood was how quick Greed and his crew died. Martel was so cool in the first series that I wanted thier roles expanded even.
Quick clarification since I don’t think you’ve caught it yet, but Fuhrer Bradley is not a king, his NAME is King. XD Fuhrer is his title.
Cool city design
Very cool indeed
So far you've heard "ultimate" shield, eye, spear (Lust's finger jabby skill), etc. In philosophical Theodicy the problem set is: How can Evil be reconciled if God is all-seeing, all-knowing, and all-powerful? If Evil is allowed to exist, then one of God's "omni" traits (omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence) HAS to be false. Example: If God KNOWS about Evil and doesn't stop it, he isn't Good. If he CAN'T stop evil he isn't omnipotent. The author of this manga is a literary GENIUS.
thats actually a false assumption, an omnipowerful, omnisicence, and omnipresent god could still be all of such and still allow evil.
11:26 Old men in anime - always assume they're crazy strong and badass unless shown otherwise.
I always find interesting how the homunculi react to greed death. They dont look away but seems afected by the scene of an homunculus dying. Specially lust and envy.
Yeah first of them to actually die fully.
(At 10:05) Yeah, I don't see how "Hollow Boy" keeping that promise.
This ep is one of my top 10 eps for sure!
🤔 I’ll have to rewatch.
why would you say he was trying to call Bradly? There was no indication anywhere in the anime that he would do that.
(That was fun at times too)
You’ve gotta hold fast with the breakneck speed this show comes at you with.
“It was their Dad!” “That was such a casual reveal!”
Oh, you think. *You think.* Just you wait and see…
Kenny genius counter is off the charts this episode.
King is Bradley's first name, his title is Fuhrer.
15:26 "All is one and one is all"
The term father is also represented towards god often in real life religion
Fuhrer King Bradley, Fuher as in Fury, fury as in WRATH
"Cool city design"...yeah very well distributed
I love how perceptive you two are and figuring stuff out as your watching where most figure it out when they reveal the answer later. Also, their sacrifice candidates have something in common, but that’s already saying too much while trying to be vague
Sloth is not laziness, sloth is the waste of potential. However, laziness can be slothful.
Soooo many episodes I'm excited for yall to hit with these theories.
That Yu go oh edit killed me!!!! Great reaction
Me watching this being like this character omg. I can’t wait till you find out. Montana figured something out and she doesn’t even know
Trying to avoid spoiling anything, but something to keep in mind as things are revealed is Eastern philosophies on 'internal' and 'external' energies like chi and Feng Shui. While alchemy is very much treated as a science in the show, it also borrows heavily from those ideas. They'll be important for understanding some plot points a bit bbetter.
Lots of reveals on this episode. I'm so excited for the next "season" reactions.
King Bradley = MAGIC HIITLER
Wrath doesn't really mean having a short temper is either. That's just irritation.
If we compare it to ideas of wrath in Biblical stories, for example, wrath is deep and devastating - entire cities wiped out, every firstborn child in Egypt killed, the world flooded and killing everyone except for one family and one breeding pair of each animal - that kind of thing.
You're the only reactors to FMA I've seen so far to notice that Truth took Al's body. Notice how whenever Ed sees Truth, he has the missing limbs as well, so it's the same situation.
And I'm only saying this because I see on the playlist you've made to the end of the series:
Ken, you are a genius for calling it that Father was trying to remove his "sins" by creating the Homunculi, and Montana was also correct in that it was a flawed endeavor.
if you like strongman fights, just wait until a later episode you'll love it!!
25:24 that’s not cheese, that’s MOLTEN CHEESE
(I thought he meant the goop looked like cheese, well, used to until a while ago)
Fun fact, it's a bit ambiguous but we actually see all seven Homunculus in this episode. No spoiler ofc.
The people from Xing are finally on the way!
If it's true that the Elric Brothers father is also the Father of the Homunculie. That would technically mean that the Homunculie are Ed and Al's siblings.
Greed really pulled up with his gang of homosexuals, told some kids not to trust the govt, then died. Iconic
Kenny: “Could King Bradley be Pride or Wrath?”
Well technically he has been both
I have since this show in it's entirety over ten times, read it once, and I never made that connection that is the truth grabbing Al. That makes crazy sense because the truth takes Ed's leg and shows he now has it, since Al sacrifices his whole body the truth now is his body which means the gate is a circle they circle back to the truth
15:04
I cant wait for you guys to find out the truth about everything, there is soooo much and everything is connected just you guys wait!
This anime is 100/10 🔥
