Loz mate, what you're doing now is earning you points, being the greatest strongman isn't just lifting heavy, it's what you do for the sport, and you are killing it still in that regard.
Thanks buddy
Loz is da man
Loz probably the most influential british strongman now.
@@ora6925 within the strongman community quite possibly, but in terms of overall reach Eddie dominates him because he has a lot of followers that aren't huge into strongman
Couldn't agree more!
Geoff deserve a knighthood for bringing strongman to this country
For old fans he is easily the greatest strongman from the UK, would place in my top ten of all time, but im biased!
@@user-lf3wr8rh7r he’s the greatest now
An award of Empire, who would want that. He is a cult hero and will not be forgotten as it is. His place in strongman history is worth far more.
He would be the first in quite some time that would have actually been knight worthy during the middle ages (AKA Midieval Period). I certainly wouldn't have wanted to don armor and face him in battle haha.
Would love to see Big Z's numbers using Liz's system
Numbers haven't been invented that go high enough
I am very happy.
@@damiensmith9240 it’s impossible to read your comment without hearing Z’s voice saying it haha
@@dragon81heart that's the idea! 😂
ITS OVER 9000!!!!
Good to see Big Geoff at the top. He has done so much for strongman in this country. A great athlete: strongman, track and field, Highland Games - as well as having his own shows. A legend.
Bruh spoiler alert
Geoff was an absolute unit. Going head to head with kaz and Jon Paul and winning is awesome.
Don't forget Wulfse, Hedlund, Ab, Magee and obviously Grizzly Brown.
Did Geoff ever beat Kaz?
@klooger28 87’ World Muscle Power Classic. I know it’s not worlds, but it happened.
@@daingiordano6830 Yeah I don't know much other than the big contests, thanks.
Love this episode (I'm catching up lol) the combination of both lists is the perfect top 10 for me
It's such a shame that Geoff Capes feels so badly about being in public because without him we all just wouldn't be here. He really should be cheered at every show in the UK
In before watching. Geoff Capes for number 1, surely.
The teamwork list is about spot on! There's still life in the old dog yet! Masters stuff pls loz!
As a kid growing up Geoff was the best for me. Tom is probably the best overall. Eddie for pure static.
Great list,
I grew up with capes on our screens in the 80’s… a house hold name and great guy.
This has been one of the most informative and fun videos I have seen, thank you for posting it! I'm really glad you both recognised Geoff Capes as the best, I will never forget watching him run down a field flipping cars as he went leaving Grizzly flat on his back at car number 1 :)
Geoff Capes was legendary in an era where Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks were a household name!
Excellent! Geoff Capes was so awesome! I was afraid you guys would put Eddie in first place. Should have known to trust you guys from the start. 😃
You should rank the 10 Greatest of all time next. Ik you did a video on this a while back it would be great to see Liz's rankings with her points system (can't imagine how many points Big z will have)
Geoff for bar bending, Eddie for pressing Power, Tom for carrying things = the perfect Strongman
now that's a tag team
Thank you Liz and Loz for the videos🙌❤️
Great content, keep it up Loz & Liz!
I think the combination list is the best list. Well done guys!
It’s hard to argue with the points you make for the people who made the list. Like you pointed out, it’s difficult to compare era to era but I would be very interested to see Liz’s in depth ranking if she ever got the time!
Love these top 10s. Thank you. Xx
Enjoyed watching that - liked the different approaches, can't argue with either method as both are fair. Thought the final list was pretty much bang on. Always a fan of you two!
Thanks to both of you for sharing your thoughts!
I like both lists, you get two different perspectives. Nice content guys.
Can't wait to see you compete again, Loz, will be cheering you on all the way!
I love the effort and depth you guys went into on these lists and I'm really glad to see Glenn Ross make both lists.
My favourite thing about these is how you both approach the same task differently, and how that changes the placings. The final list is pretty much spot on imo, great video
Loved the video, have to agree with Loz .
Great vid Loz as per usual 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Really enjoyed this video!
Great video as always. Loz looking good as well
Really excellent video guys! I would be very interested to see how the list may be affected if 2nd and 3rd places were considered more greatly.
Are you both still planning on making a Strongman Hot take reaction video? I'm sure i could come up with a few!
Loz, What you and the Mrs. are doing right now, is AWESOME! ILOVE Strongman, and I love this channel!
I am just ❤I got these videos!! Fun and informative! 🇨🇦
I always watch and love your videos! Can you all do a Top 10 American Strongest Men video?
1 and 2 would have to undisputedly be Brian Shaw and Kaz.
Love this I actually have thought about sending you this question on a live video.
Surprised mark Felix isn’t on the list but I guess he lacks wins but at least his longevity makes him iconic
He's also kind of quiet on the "bringing people into the sport" side of things. People who are already into Strongman love him, but he doesn't bring a lot of public presence.
Geoff was so dynamic
The 1 st modern strongman
Well rounded
Another great video
I absolutely love Liz's number method on these types of videos. A deep dive into ranking would be really interesting.
Love videos like this, for me honourable mentions to Brian Bell, Mark Iliffe, Jimmy Marku and of course Mark Higgins.
As always, thank you 😊
Great video! I agree more with Loz’s list this time. I’d love to see one for greatest US and European strongmen.
I would love to hear Terry’s top ten and see how they compare
Lovely video. Would love to see Loz compete again.
Both very good lists for different reasons. The joint list is perfect.
Great vid . Love this sort of stuff. Eddie seems to be just rawest strong bloke i’ve seen
Ahh, bless! She put Loz at 3! ❤
Love these videos really made my day I’ve always love strongman history you should do like kiyon Kimora does with how strong was… actually? And it’s a history of all the athletes or fighters history and wins that would be really interesting like a quick 10-15 mini doc on each person
It would be great to see you competing again Big Loz, always loved watching you complete
Love this episode. Being 48 I tend to like hearing the history of the guys when I was young. As always a great watch.👋👋
I like your ‘opinion vs scoring system’ format, makes it more interesting.
Solid content bro 👍 could you do a list like this about the netherlands plz 😀
Am just happy Big Loz is thinking about doing a master show!!!
I'm very exited about the Lozzy classic, aunty Liz make it happen !!!
Loz, I’d love to see you do a video ranking all of the WSM compa in terms of what you’d think is the most difficult. You could consider the field of athletes, location, events, sickness during the event, etc. I remember commenting on a video about your video about who the strongest runner up finishers who’ve never won are and you knocked that out of the park. Nice job! Love watching you and Liz back and forth!
i hope you and Liz are doing well. All the best to both of you!
I loved this show guys, Geoff has always been my favourite Strongman since I first watched him in the 1983 world strongest man . I’ve watched every year since and I love it. I’d dearly like to see some of the older events brought back and the final should be at least 7 events. Great show guys plz keep em coming ❤
Jamie Reeves was incredible at the 1992 Mighty man comp in Johannesburg. Dominating the field at 160+k bw beating Magnusson, Sigmarsson, Badenhorst (home territory), Taylor, Manfred etc he won hands down
He log lifted 180k wr that day fatigued in 35c heat, 7k feet above sea level on a thick real wooden uneven log & pissed it
I'm going for:
1. Geoff Capes
2. Tom Stoltman
3. Eddie Hall
4. Terry Hollands
5. Laurence Shahlaei
6. Jamie Reeves
7. Mark Felix
8. Glenn Ross
9. Gary Taylor
10. Luke Stoltman
Great vid Guys - You may have seen it but they did this via numbers based on strength of competition at the time and John Higgins came out on top. Very heavily analytics required on that one! ;-)
Interesting results. I think it’s easy to mistake popularity for ability, and while I’m old enough to remember watching the 70’s competition on tv, I still assumed we would see the likes of Adam Bishop on the list, but you’re right, all of the men on the list have achieved highly in the international scene.
Big Loz looking good as always and Liz spunky spunky spunky. Keep up the good work. 👍👍👍
I like the combined list.
Liz and Loz, always fun!
Glad you both put Loz in.
I think your final joint list is spot on... i do like Liz's number system though... can't beat a bit of statistics lol.
Truly excellent video and discussion point 👏 don't forgot Mr Strong from the Mr men books he carried a barn full of water to stop a fire ! 💪
Aww, I love it.
Just seeing Forbes Cowan at number 10, I already knew I was going to love these lists. Such a great athlete. Fast, and deceptively strong at times.
Give him a farmers walk or something like that, he could change the landscape of a competition.
And on the other side of these lists, Geoff Capes... 1985 is one of my favorite years at Worlds Strongest Man and his win over Kaz (Who was 3rd, with Jon Pall Sigmarsson in 2nd) at the World Muscle Power Classic in 1987 is something a lot of guys who only follow WSM, or maybe haven't gotten all that deep into some of the older competitions may have missed.
WMPC was likely second only to WSM from the middle of the 80's straight through to the end of the 90's, so it's also worth mentioning he also placed above Kaz (who placed 3rd again) when he podiumed just behind Jon Pall Sigmarsson in 2nd place at the 1985 World Muscle Power Classic. Geoff was a fucking machine.
Anyway,
1. Geoff Capes - He's the best.
2. Jamie Reeves - He was tremendously strong and consistent. Jamie won every single year he was in Britain's (x4) and England's (x6). Won Europe's twice, won WMPC twice. He also placed 2nd twice at WMPC.
3. Eddie Hall - x5 Britain's in a row, x6 UK's in a row taking the torch from Glenn Ross, and x2 England's. Beast is right. He just didn't really win outside of the UK save his win at WSM.
4. Tom Stoltman - To me, the most capable and greatest current Strongman, along with maybe Oleksii Novikov and Martins Licis. More or less I expect him to win more competitions moving forward and it looks like it's his time to shine. Like you guys said, he could very well be number one with another win at WSM or a few other major shows.
5. Loz - You sell yourself way too short. Your resume is crazy, and if you had won a WSM Title, I'd have you above Tom. x2 Britain's, an England's and a Europe's... Dude, you slew the fucking Mountain!
6. Gary Taylor - I actually feel kinda bad about putting him so low on this list, but he just didn't compete as much outside of WSM and his wins in Wales. Crazy strong athlete though, and always a fun competitor to watch.
7. Glenn Ross - It was terrible Glenn never made World's. He wanted it so bad. One of the worst moments ever was when he actually cried having lost out with equal points during the countback in 2000 to Regin Vagadal. Clearly Glenn winning his own UK's consistently up until Eddie Hall and then two back to back Masters titles in 2010 and 2011, he's a seriously strong guy. That last bit is at least as impressive as Ab Wolders winning the IPF World Masters in 2012 at 60 years old.
8. Forbes Cowan - Think he was more consistent than Glenn outside of maybe his own UK's Strongest Man. He made WSM twice, x6 Scotland's Strongest Man, won WMPC in 1996, and came in 2nd the year before. His performance in World Muscle Power I hold pretty highly and was the basis of placing him above the 10th spot.
9. Terry Hollands - One of my all time favorite competitors. Probably the best bus puller ever, and year after year he looked to be England's #1 hope for a WSM title up until Eddie Hall and the emphasis on static events at that time, and Terry honestly still held his own. He had ups and downs but he was always a great competitor. He's got a Britain's, an England's and a UK's. and you can't knock that.
10. Luke Stoltman - Honestly, I feel like if he wasn't in this particular era, he would be higher on the list and have more wins to go with it. Great athlete, with a Europe's, x5 Scotland's Strongest Man and a Giants Live under his belt.
Worth mentioning Ted Van Der Parre was the first defending WSM Champ that failed to qualify after his win over Magnus Ver Magnusson in 1992 when he lost 1993's Hollands Strongest Man to Berend Veneberg which was a great competition and also worth watching if you don't mind it being in Dutch. Gary was just the first to get knocked out in the heats... And in their inaugural year... That had to suck.
All three lists make sense! 😁👍
The final list was right on.
Geoff Capes is the real King of Britain 🇬🇧 👑 💪🏻
Saw Geoff at the highland games as a kid just after his 2nd wsm win
my parents took me a day trip drive in the Scottish highlands and it just so happens we drove through the village when the games were on
we ended up just spending most of the day there watching the excitement, one of my best memories of childhood and probably where I became a fan of strongman
You are Loz. You’re the only one who met my criteria. In that you’re my fav.😎👍❤️🏆⭐️🏋️
That's an excellent combined list, really can't argue with it, was wondering about Adam and Graham but guess they've got to do a bit more whilst they're still competing to justify bumping some of those greats off the list. Think Geoff Capes is a legend!
❤️ if you are British (and over 40), you can’t think of strongman without thinking of Geoff Capes ❤️❤️❤️
19:11 that's actually a very good list, I agree with that!
And Loz might competes in masters? Lesssgooo
I feel like you 2 would have the most organised household arguments ever!
I think you guys are great and it's brilliant how you both promote a sport that you both obviously love so much I completely agree with both of your top 10s just a shame mark Felix didn't make it as he's such a strongman icon
It really is excites me to see the Uncle Loz gave the hint about master class strongman comp .... I know deep inside his heart he still had that desire to compete 😁 .... not to be hunger for the big titles, but the love and having fun to throughout the years of strength career ..... that is the longevity wisdom 😁😁👍👍
Can you do a review of the event at Ipswich a few days ago, only seen one video of big Z pressing, thanks Big Loz
The three on the thumbnail are absolutely the three I would say are the top. Capes has to be first as homage but Eddie and Big Tom are on equal second for me. There are so many great British strongmen and what a privilege it is to be a proud Englishman myself
I would love to see this for some of the top countries that had at least 10 people compete at the International Level (Canada, America, Iceland, etc)
I think having a tier list would be more fitting than an ordered top ten
Loz you did Mark dirty! Surely the legend deserves a top ten spot for his longevity!
Couldn’t agree more, I’ve always said Geoff was the best, I grew up watching him , even met him once, an amazing athlete and person ❤ did so much for the world of sport and esp strong man 💙
In terms of overall influence and the fact he's still much involved in promoting strongman I'd put Glenn ahead of Luke
For the same reason I'd argue Uncle Loz ahead of Terry?
Geoff Capes for me.
Good video. You should do the same for America. Another year or 2 and Tom will probably be number 1 on this list comfortably
Oberst watching this: "where is novikov?"
I like Liz's points system. Keeps things reasonably objective.
I think 'X Strongest Mans' since it's a plural of 'X Strongest Man'
And I'd love to see Loz in a Masters comp, but only if it's right (i.e. if Liz says he's allowed).
I will say, with Geoff; whilst he competed the longest ago(?), he definitely had some serious competition with Kaz and Jon Pall, Lars Hedlund, Reinhaudt, Magee, Ab Wolders... Lot of very strong and high quality opposition, at least with World's.
I like Liz's approach, but I would like it to be a lot more detailed, with points for more placings and not just podiums. And maybe even include records like Eddie's deadlift records. Chances are the list would look more or less the same, only with more points.
Geoff capes top of the list every time... 9 out of 19 international is just epic! Would love to see you to do a masters I think if you done it sooner rather than later podiums and wins await you!
Definitely agree more with Loz in this one. Numbers aren’t everything Liz 🤣
Going to love revisiting this video in years to come when Tom has won his 5th title and more lol
the subtle music when mark felix is brought up 😂😂😂😂
I'd like to see this revisited in 12-24 months. Tom with another one or two WSM + a 505KG dead lift would put him at the peak for me!
I’m happy with the final list. I’d maybe swap Eddie and Tom but that’s it.
.
Luke Richardson could def be up there in future if injuries don’t rob him of his prime.
.
Great video 👍💪
I want someone to look at me the way Liz looks at Loz when he’s explaining his ranking systems
Think it's hard to disagree with the final top 3 - all 3 of them have done amazing things that nobody else on the list really matched.
Loz is Returning !! Yayyyyyyy !! Masters Beware !!!
