This is how it's done. I've learned more about how this amp sounds in 3 mins than I could from those guys who sit and waffle on for ages and then end up playing a few clean and dirty settings and thats it. All amp reviews should be done like this. Props.
" from those guys who sit and waffle " Those guys aren't presenting gear, they are presenting themselves as gear promoters. So fed up with those babblers.
This video is so unbelievably helpful. I'm looking into marshall valvestate for my next amp and this is, hands down, the best demonstration of an amp on youtube. You should do this video with every amp made. It'll be the amp bible.
agreed. what a great idea. best demo. I have this amp and it needs repair. I turned it on one day and just a loud hum. I will get it fixed after seeing this. I remember it was a pretty nice sounding amp.
I just found this amp at a local flea market, I cleaned up the pots and man it was ready to go. I was checking out your settings. So far i'm really happy to snag one of these.
This is the gold standard for reviewing/product demo. All the other reviewers need to learn from this guy. Most of the time walking is better than talking. I cant believe how many lame and shiit reviews are flooding UA-cam. Thus guy is the shiit. By the way I bought this amp....🤘
i listened to clips on here of vs 100 and others,an we allways just had plexis,an old fenders,an i never played thru one of these before or heard much, until i got my vs100 about 3 days ago..wow,massive an very plexi like, huge beautiful clean all around thru my 1965a...marshall cab..i cant believe how huge it is,after i cleaned it etc..nothing thin or tinny no where, just the opposite...wow............
I’ve had mine since 1992 when they first came out. Outstanding demonstration of this amps capabilities but I gotta tell you get rid of that cheap ass celestion speaker and put in warehouse ET 65 4-ohm speaker in it it’s freaking life-changing guaranteed.
I have the 8080 from new in ‘92 it’s still awesome. Crackly when you more the pots though think it needs a clean? How do I do that? And the reverb is hit and miss. Can I take that apart? And sort it?
@@chikenoza Thanks for responding. I just bought one from a Craigslist seller. In mint condition! Love it!! paid $250. Has foot pedal for channel switching.
OMG, I just did not answer for comments for years. No, I sold it the next day I put this demo on YT. But I got another amp for sale, here is the demy of my Boogie - for sale in Italy: ua-cam.com/video/gXnMaeA04UI/v-deo.html

I have exactly the same one, made in England in the 90's, Celestion speaker. I love it. I bought it 2nd hand 25 years ago.

Got the 8020 and love it.
Great sound i also have Valvestate and Gibson Les Paul Lite 93 with factory open 496/500 ceramic pickups Gibson.
I swapped the 500 for the DiMarzio Norton - has more bottom end now.
Are these decent, is the volume on the good enough for gigging?

Yeah, all the Valvestate series is just amazingly good. Saying this as a former jcm800 owner.

You can clean the pots but it lasts for just a while. I replaced all the pots instead of cleaning. No idea about the reverb...
Best review.
Thank you!
Hey, does anyone know if this amp is all solid state or does it also take tubes as well?
The power amp is solid state but pream is 12AX7 tube powered. It feels more like a tube amp thanks to this.

I've read in some forums that this amp is better than the 8080. Do you think so?
I have no idea, never tried the 8080...
Is it loud enough to gig with?
i had this amp before. if mic'ed into the pa yes but it wont be able to hang with drums well
já vendeu?
u think this 40w is enuf to play along with drums no mics
Yes it is but might have some problems with a loud drummer...
Best demo ever !! Is it still for sale ?
OMG, I just did not answer for comments for years. No, I sold it the next day I put this demo on YT. But I got another amp for sale, here is the demy of my Boogie - for sale in Italy: ua-cam.com/video/gXnMaeA04UI/v-deo.html
Preamp out and power amp???
Yes, it is a FX loop.

Hell yeah, thanks!
