Great review! I really want to be all in on Wyze, but lack of support for HomeKit, and or Siri Shortcuts makes it almost a non-starter. Hopefully Matter will solve a lot of these issues, but I do think they will need to do more if they want to be a player in the HomeKit space
I have the V1 and V2... and was thinking about the new V3... but I am not sure. BOTH the other versions worked well... until late last year during a software "upgrade", both cameras begin to share a similar problem, in that while a subject came into their view, the cameras seemed to FREEZE the minute the subject was in the very CENTER of the frame! The other Wyze cameras I have (just simpler, earlier WyzeCams) have ran flawlessly! Customer Service... like so many other customer services... merely asked that I "power cycle" the cameras off and on. That didn't help. Then they suggested that it was my WiFi Router. It wasn't. So they suggested that I upgrade my actual SUBSCRIPTION. I didn't. At any rate, I am seeking another company to serve my camera needs. Oh, well. 🥺
Would this camera work for viewing through mesh at night? My child has special needs and is in an enclosed bed that has mesh around it for safety. Our current monitor can not see through the mesh when the room is dark despite the camera having infra red. Also does the unit have a parent unit? I would prefer to not have to view on my phone at night as I turn off my phone at night
