I know. I love so many of these rare or unreleased songs that Billy came up with but never made it onto albums. "Sparrow" and "Blissed and Gone" are good too. I like when Billy writes sad stuff lol
I love this song and had it on my Spotify playlist until it was taken off Spotify. Now I blast this on my tv and lay on my bed staring at the ceiling. Thank you
I got this album for Christmas as a teenager. I associate this song with reading The Two Towers while it was snowing. I could see a blue light inside a church across the street through the frosty window.
That's an awesome memory... I don't get to see the snow anymore where I live. It used to snow frequently, now it's just a distant memory of my childhood...
I too listened to pumpkins like there was no tomorrow throughout my teenage years. Their sound still conjures a sacrosanct saudade and immaculately nostalgic catharsis. Swallows me whole like a wall cloud closing in - every time. Your description of the blue wintery church glow is one I have as well - beyond the depths. 👁👅👁 :: Sry I was extremely baked 😂 but I still stand by my words 🎉
It is too beautiful to articulate how beautiful.. Corgan tries to send and transcends beautiful musical notes It is too beautiful.. for most t to understand..
this is so beautiful. last night I threw this cd in on a long drive, I found this track for the first time. The great sadness of it is amazing on a dark long highway with these intense ideas and thoughts coming in. Billy Corgan is a pure genius a sad genius..
I had exactly this experience in 2007 on my first road trip to the city where I now live, and I’ve never forgotten that moment. “Drinking strawberry wine…”
a decade ago around this time, maybe exactly, i would ride around late night in a chrysler sebring top down smoking a blunt solo “a child is who i was, a child is who i’ll die”
Found this sound christmas morning circa 2001. I woke up early, not excited about presents but afraid another year had passed and I still didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. High school was half over and I was barreling towards adulthood. This song perfectly captured that teenage feeling of being lost in the deep of your mind, drowning inches from the surface. Somehow though, this song made me always feel ok with it. Which is when I found out I suffered from the call of the void.
I remember the first time someone played this for me I've been a long standing pumpkins fan and I never listened to this one untill 2017 . an elderly woman who worked as a music teacher taught me how to play this on the piano while I was being her care giver. So I haven't tried playing it yet I'll try again I suppose 😢
Could I immerse myself in the scenery of this song. It speaks about my soul and the love that sunk and embedded itself inside the roots of my identity. Where I have become trapped and unknowing of my surroundings, and where I have "dreams of getting well." With all these... "soot and stars", I have come to reluctantly accept the faint touches of my child.
People change, voices change, nothing lasts forever. You either go with it or you don't. I struggle to like any of the new stuff, the personal 'it' factor that made me a lifelong fan just isn't there any more, sadly. Something undefinable changed at some point. At least I've got a back catalogue of hundreds of excellent songs to enjoy...
So annoying this isn't on streaming services as it's my favourite SP song, but it used to be on them I'm 98% certain? Thank you this video so I can get my monthly fix. I used to own it physically too but after a few house moves in short succession my CD collection was trashed, lost, abandoned for streaming, and the B-sides disc from the greatest hits was lost as well. What a song!
I don't know what it is about this song that I love so much. I'm not really identified with the lyrics, but somehow just the overall feel of the music and lyrics means something. It's melancholic and smooth, yet with hope.
I love this song. It reminds me of a friend that passed away, and I didn't find out for about 2 years after. I was so hurt. I would listen to this song on repeat for days and cried. Now it's a bittersweet feeling when I listen to it.
Since the first show at the Palladium for Siamese Dream thrue the Hollywood Bowl show last Nov, it was always the song writing. Some songs like this or Sparrow or Wasting Time or Behold the Nightmare haunt me..

Adore outtake first released on Judas O, which was MCIS, Adore and Machina era outtakes collected as the B-side to the 2001 greatest hits CD. It's tracklisted perfectly and really works as an album.
This sounds so old-timey and beautiful. What a gorgeously melancholic sound this song has.

I was exactly doing that right now :)
Did they take Judas O off Streaming Services? Why?
also happened to me, but on deezer :(
Just went looking for it and see it's not there. Damn!
I love all the SP songs that take you to "pumpkinland" and it doesn't get more pumpkinland than this

I like that a lot and I get you!

So many songs are also associated to many visuals in my memory! I used to listen to "Snail" as a teenager during snowy winter days

Billy's vocals in this song are godly. You can literally hear the emotion through the screen
One of his BEST.
Absolutely..😢
I can remember being a kid and hating the world.. And it just fits perfect If that makes any sense in the world
It's crazy how strong some of the Pumpkins b-sides are. Been trying to remember the title of this one for the longest time, chanks for uploading it.

My all time favorite smashing pumpkins song. This song hits the soul.

The beauty of riding a car into the night with the right melodies is priceless.
Different car, same story
favorite pumpkins song. its all about the poetry.
This will always be one of my absolute favorite songs by Billy Corgan

Soo haunting, I saw them at Wembley arena in 2000, Sacred and Profane farewell tour. Wish I could go back in time, it all goes so damn fast
I wish he still sang like this on albums… love the new stuff but this I miss so much in my heart!

Anyone else remember the video a fan made for this song with clips from “man with a movie camera”? It was beautiful, a shame it was taken down
