Me too! I wrote at the time that the BoE had fuelled a debt crisis by not regulating LDI’s but also offering a Bond buy back scheme largely not taken up. Truss policies were pro growth, Reeves policies will stifle growth. The Bond yields are now 50b.p higher than the peak of the Truss era and yet no action. I foresee a Gilt auction failure and even an IMF bailout.
It had everything to do with pushing her out , they used that as the vehicle. The markets were already moving and the B of E had undermined it prior to it being released. They picked one part of the mini budget to use as the reason why it was bad , but no one ever asked the question why it was even in the budget given the numerous people that knew it was bad and the effect it would have... You have to remember who was installed as her new Chancellor and what followed! Most of what Truss wanted to do was absolutely sound and would have put the economy on steroids in part...
