I was actually born in the year 1999. And I really was a fan of The Railway Series and of course Thomas & Friends. And some years later I actually discovered British Railway engines.
My favorite episode hands down is Cranky Bugs. I have so many fond memories of watching it with my grandma and re-enacting it with my wooden toys. I miss those good old days
It was when they started deviating from the novels. They were allowed to make their own original stories at that point, and they started taking heavier liberties on the ones they adapted. There are some good results, but I can understand the guy being protective of his work (especially since they didn't always do the research needed).

My favorite episode is Thomas & The Trucks, I always loved the way Thomas looked moving along the track, and the theme that plays when Thomas is pulling the trucks is just so beautiful!
You could say this chapter itself is a rollercoaster of emotions. You feel some tension between Wilbert and Britt in regards to S3's direction, contentment with the Bookmark Documentary and RWS #39 produced for celebration, depression with the passing of the Puff Puff Parson, a sentimental mix with his commemorations, satisfaction with David Maidment's influence of realism, humour with the compilation of Baldwin's goodies, and appropriately, pride with the impact of Thomas' legacy. ...I personally felt cringe when the scouts, their song and the Christmas Collection appeared, but only because it brought me back to a rather cringey review of mine, you see. xD But anyway, if anything makes this installment unique, it's that. Your choice of music isn't half bad either! Like in Chapter 3, I feel like I may have heard some of BMM's score, which is always welcome! Enterprising really knows what tone/mood to put on with his narration. My favourite episode was Gallant Old Engine for a while, but I'd say it possibly ties with Bowled Out now. Horrid Lorry, Special Letter and Special Attraction I find particularly enjoyable, too. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to look for The Train on Netflix :P
You know I draw a lot of comparisons between Thomas & MLP: FIM. The 1st 2 Seasons were big successes in their respective times with instant classics but in the 3rd Seasons, they had some controversial moments. For Thomas, it's the overuse of Thomas, some leaps in railway realism and the loose adaptions and for ponies, it was Alicorn Twilight, some episode descisionsvlike Discord's reformation and being the first season without input from Lauren Faust
Someone; Things are gonna change around here, puffball. Thomas; get ready for production of my first Theatrical Film and what happened to my TV Series after. And don't worry, I'll save a seat for you
This chapter was definitely worth the wait! I actually own The Ten Years of Thomas DVD and I have fond memories of watching it on my DVD player while on car trips. I also remember there were some buttons on the DVD case that allowed you to hear the sounds of some of the engines. My favorite episode would have to be either Thomas and the Jet Engine, or Percy's Chocolate Crunch. I also really enjoy The Flying Kipper, Escape, Toad Stands By, Busy Going Backwards, Rusty and the Boulder, All At Sea, and Henry's Forest just to name a few. Alec Baldwin's actually my second favorite narrator behind George Carlin as I grew up listening to him narrate seasons 5 and 6. Anyways, I can't wait to see the rest of this documentary in the future, and keep up the great work!
I'm glad that andrew Brenner decided to adapt some of the railway series books even though some are very old. Bravo andrew Brenner, I tip my hat to you please keep up the good work! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This was such an amazing video that really delves deep into the world and creativity that Thomas the Tank Engine had created ever since the incredible story telling of Wilbert Awdry. I hope that the next part can come soon!
Well, Dan. What can I say? This chapter is certainly worth waiting for! I loved every single bit of it. From start to finish. My favourite episode would definitely have to be Thomas the Jet Engine. It was a very exciting episode and Michael Angelis really showcased a lot of enthusiasm from there. With that said, I hope to see more of this documentary in the future. Keep up the good work! :)
Jonathan Asiamah I agree on both things Thomas and the jet engine was one on my favorites. But my favorite would be "A Close Shave for Duck" and "Escape" respectively.
This is definitely the most nostalgic and emotional chapter you've done. Seasons 3-5 have been my favorite seasons and the ones that bring the brightest memories. What went on during their releases is astounding, and makes me appreciate these moments even more. This chapter also makes me eagerly awaiting the next one to discuss Thomas and the Magic Railroad, which I imagine has A LOT worth discussing... And my favorite episode would probably be All at Sea - an episode with a great moral coupled with some of the most memorable visuals of the series, and probably Duck's best episode in the starring role.
I love these videos, you can really see the effort put into them. My favourite episode is without a doubt, Thomas and the Special Letter; a beautiful and heartwarming episode.
Amazing! That's all I can say. As for favourite episodes... The classic Daisy Episodes (I have a slight obsession if it's not apparent, already), and the Stepney episodes. And in CGI, Thomas the Babysitter.
I think my favorite episode of Thomas The Tank Engine is Twin Trouble even though in the U.S version of the episode Alec Baldwin didn't give Donald and Douglas scottish accents like George Carlin did.
Don't forget before becoming a writer for the series, Andrew brenner worked on magazine stories, he was told to take seasons 1-2 and adapt them into these episodes. But when he ran out of stories to adapt, he just said, " why not write my own" and so he did and some of his writing were adapted into series 3 & 5 episodes
Wow your the person who voiced Edward in 1Thomas2Edward3Henry. You have warmed my heart SmurfyDan and if anyone who produces or makes the series watches this, they will get reminded what Thomas was and how special it is to everyone
O.M.G That was beautiful, Great Job Dan, this was really so interesting, I can't wait for the next one. As for my favourite episode, it's definitely Thomas the Jet Engine, this episode has been a favourite since I was young and still is today, I loved Michael Angelis' narration in the UK dub, he sounded so hyped. And I love listening to the William Tell Overtune, it's one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard
My Favourite Episode would have to be Thomas comes to Breakfast. I remember having a copy of it on a Watch and Play Paper sleeve VHS when I was young and was my favourite VHS out of my collection. Sadly this tape went missing but the search for a new one is still going. I liked the story for it's setting and the effects used for Thomas crashing into the house.
My favorite episode is Thomas, Bertie and the great race. It was a great, fun, action filled episode. It had a good message of how you should keep going even when it looks like you lost. And that even though you beat someone, you can still get along.
I really love Thomas Get's Tricked since it was the first story I saw but I also love Escape (Oliver's first story) because of the Escape sequence and music. I was so tense watching that as a kid.
Edward’s Exploit maybe because Thomas, Percy and the Dragon was my favorite video as a kid. Whenever I popped it into the VCR I always looked forward to the end when that story came around.
My favorite Thomas episode is A Better View for Gordon because not only is Gordon my favorite character, but I love the crash, Alec Baldwin's narration and of course, it introduces my favorite station in the series: Kirk Ronan.
Favorite episode? Sheesh! Where to begin? Well, model-era-wise, I would have to pick "All At Sea" from Season 3, mostly because of the closing scene (Duck, Percy, and Thomas facing the sunset over the sea's horizon) and with the following narration: "Duck still wonders about the lands beyond the horizon, but I think he knows that, sometimes, the best adventures are the ones we can only dream about. Don't you?" CGI-era-wise, it would probably have to be "Tit for Tat", because it was not only the first RWS story to be adapted in nearly 20 years (barring "The Adventure Begins" because that's a Special/Mini-Movie, and we're clearly talking about episodes ;) ), but was also the first time we got to see the Reverend himself finally interacting with his characters in the TV series; I believe this would classify as Thomas finally "meeting his creator", wouldn't you say? ;)
4:01 the reason why NZ got GC was because of the amount of inported media we have aired and distributed in the country. I actually own a few of the VHS tapes which were NZ releases with the GC narration
14:30 There's the man I've also seen in the behind the scenes documentaries for the classic Disney films. 38:16 Also they are following in Awdry's footsteps for episodes in Season 5, based them on real life incidents. And to answer the question at the end, it'll be Henry and the Elephant.
My favourite episodes would have to be both Escape and Rusty to the Rescue, as they're both very tense and exciting episodes :D Excellent work on this by the way, it really was worth the wait!
Donald and Douglas fan 10 I loved that trilogy because they were the first episodes I ever watched, from the first Thomas & Friends VHS I ever owned. It was clear I had a soft spot for Henry due to the development he got from those episodes.
My favorite Thomas & Friends episodes are, Thomas and Bertie, The Flying Kipper, Ghost Train, Special Funnel, and Thomas, Percy and the Old Slow Coach.
What's my favourite Thomas episode? Well, out of all the crazy and most funniest of episodes in TAF, I can honestly say that my favourite episode is Thomas comes to Breakfast.
well i don't have only one favorite episode but my my two are is Thomas comes to breakfast because i loved the crash in that episode and how funny it was to me. and thomas and the trucks because i love the music when Thomas is pulling the trucks and is one of the first episodes i ever seen.
I couldn never narrow it down to oNE Favorite Thomas episode! But James Goes Buzz Buzz, Tit For Tat, Bulldog, Duncan Gets Spooked, Jack Jumps In, and Cranky Bugs are high on my list!
I think the reverent overreacted to season 3 a bit like thomas wasn't destroyed but it also wasn't his dream show anymore, but it still brought joy to people
27:49 I had the British Thomas tapes when I was younger. To be honest, whenever the VCI segment came on, I thought the letters were going to fly out of the TV screen!
I wonder if the next chapter will be about the 6th and 7th seasons (and other stuff like that). Anyways, I would say that my favourite episode would most likely be Thomas and the Trucks (Trouble for Thomas). I don't know why, but I seem to watch it most of the time...
This is the most emotional chapter I ever saw in STL.
Ffarquhar Road Productions I agree I almost cryed
Medina Mohammad same here
I nearly cried. It’s so heart touching!😢
The Awdry audio is pretty accurate to Thomas Big world, big adventure.
Awdry: “they’ve shoehorned Thomas into episodes”
*plays New Series music*
You sneaky sneak, you 😀
I was actually born in the year 1999. And I really was a fan of The Railway Series and of course Thomas & Friends. And some years later I actually discovered British Railway engines.
The music along with EE93's narration make wilbert awdry's death sound very sad and dramatic nice episode
My favorite episode is The Other Big Engine, because I love how Thomas compares Gustavo to Gordon.
Thomas and the Jet Engine, Busy Going Backwards, Escape, The Flying Kipper, Old Iron, and Toad Stands By.
Awdry deserved a state funeral!
My favorite episode hands down is Cranky Bugs. I have so many fond memories of watching it with my grandma and re-enacting it with my wooden toys. I miss those good old days
“TV wrecked my Thomas”
that hit me the most.
Imagine if he saw bwba
Rev W Awdry: dislikes the 3rd season.
Me: its gonna get a whole lot worse
It's strange how Wilbert never approved of the 3rd season, it's one of my favourites
Andkirby I geuss he saw it very different than his original stories
And I wonder how he would react to shining time station too.
It was when they started deviating from the novels. They were allowed to make their own original stories at that point, and they started taking heavier liberties on the ones they adapted. There are some good results, but I can understand the guy being protective of his work (especially since they didn't always do the research needed).
Just imagine, he didn't approve season 3. What would he think about BWBA & season 25

I think cranky bugs has always been my favourite episode just because the uk narration, effects, and story itself was great
I remember watching the dvd for 10 years of Thomas when I was little
Worth the wait, I bet the next part is gonna be completely centred on Magic Railroad.
Someone; Things are gonna change around here, puffball.
Thomas; get ready for production of my first Theatrical Film and what happened to my TV Series after. And don't worry, I'll save a seat for you
Thomas and friends should have gotten the award! also my favorite Thomas and friends episode is The other side of the mountain
This chapter was definitely worth the wait! I actually own The Ten Years of Thomas DVD and I have fond memories of watching it on my DVD player while on car trips. I also remember there were some buttons on the DVD case that allowed you to hear the sounds of some of the engines. When you get to season 8 forwards, I think a good title would be "A HiT and a miss".
Ah yes, the mid 2000's which were what we could call the 1st dark age for Thomas.
They will get there, but their covering Magic Railroad right now.
To bad he didn’t call it that :( It does sound cool though.
The music at the start and end of these videos give me goose bumps and make me tear up tbh
The Flying Kipper, no doubt about it, for me BEST episode of the show
Same here, pally!
Beautiful just beautiful guys.
Loved it. Haha, The ending was like a true cliff-hanger moment too 😂
I know I'm a bit late, but I'll say Henry's Forest is my current favorite episode.
Can't wait for Chapter 6!!!
Rip rev w awdry 1911-1997 you shall never be forgotten

Jonathan Asiamah I agree on both things Thomas and the jet engine was one on my favorites. But my favorite would be "A Close Shave for Duck" and "Escape" respectively.
Jonathan Asiamah oh yeah and "The Dieseasel"
Oddly enough, it's for sure one of the most unreal of the model era episodes but it's to me the best Angelia dub out there😀👍
Can't wait for chapter 9!
I was actually born in 1999. And how I wish to turn back time to my own childhood.
Thomas is the son of Wilbert Awdry
This is definitely the most nostalgic and emotional chapter you've done. Seasons 3-5 have been my favorite seasons and the ones that bring the brightest memories. What went on during their releases is astounding, and makes me appreciate these moments even more.

Music was 100% perfect a really great part to this epic series. Can't wait to see the next one.

But when he ran out of stories to adapt, he just said, " why not write my own" and so he did and some of his writing were adapted into series 3 & 5 episodes
My favorite episode has to be Escape. Lovely music, great sets, and Oliver is a great character!! Also, Douglas is very kind and brave.
As for favourite episode, it's Rusty and the Boulder.
That episode scared me shitless literally
I imagine Wilbert in heaven is watching every episode movie that was made for Thomas
Oh god. Favourite episode. Probably gallant old engine cus the atmosphere of the rain reminds me of Manchester where I've lived all my life
Wow your the person who voiced Edward in 1Thomas2Edward3Henry. You have warmed my heart SmurfyDan and if anyone who produces or makes the series watches this, they will get reminded what Thomas was and how special it is to everyone
escape, from season 3 was my all time favorite when I was little
No childhood is complete until they see this show
Mine's Duncan Gets Spooked because of the bit where The Trucks fall of the Old Iron bridge
The production quality is very high! Very interesting chapter.
Thomas comes to breakfast. Love these vids.
My favorite episode is Thomas, Bertie and the great race. It was a great, fun, action filled episode. It had a good message of how you should keep going even when it looks like you lost. And that even though you beat someone, you can still get along.
My fave episode so FAR (haven't watched the entire 20/21 seasons) is the fat controllers engines
I really love Thomas Get's Tricked since it was the first story I saw but I also love Escape (Oliver's first story) because of the Escape sequence and music. I was so tense watching that as a kid.
Every single episode about Percy are my favorates! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
except the sharon miller ones of course -.-
Edward’s Exploit maybe because Thomas, Percy and the Dragon was my favorite video as a kid. Whenever I popped it into the VCR I always looked forward to the end when that story came around.
All time favorite is Thomas goes fishing
My favorite Thomas episode is A Better View for Gordon because not only is Gordon my favorite character, but I love the crash, Alec Baldwin's narration and of course, it introduces my favorite station in the series: Kirk Ronan.

Joel GeebMachine Hunter - Voice Actor I totally agree!
I felt so sad, i was trying to hold my tears but i Just wanted to cry
Do you think the Donald’s duck episode and song was based off of Walt Disney’s Donald Duck Character?
4:01 the reason why NZ got GC was because of the amount of inported media we have aired and distributed in the country. I actually own a few of the VHS tapes which were NZ releases with the GC narration
I think the Dolby surround sound was also a test to see how cinematic Thomas can be.
Out of all the songs used for Thomas and friends night train is my favorite song
14:30 There's the man I've also seen in the behind the scenes documentaries for the classic Disney films. 38:16 Also they are following in Awdry's footsteps for episodes in Season 5, based them on real life incidents. And to answer the question at the end, it'll be Henry and the Elephant.
My favourite episodes would have to be both Escape and Rusty to the Rescue, as they're both very tense and exciting episodes :D
Excellent work on this by the way, it really was worth the wait!
welcome back Steaming to legacy
The William Tell Overture theme also appeared in The Runaway Elephant from Season 7, but mostly in the UK narration.
Rest in peace rev.w Audrey you will be remembered forever
Despite being on for only two Seasons, I would love for Alec to return to Thomas and Friends in some fashion.
I'm honestly shocked you didn't even mention Andrew Brenner or the fact they adapted some of his original magazine stories and left him uncredited!
That will be mentioned in one of the later chapters.
My favorite episodes are coal, the flying kipper, and whistle and sneezes or, the Henry trilogy because he is my favorite character
Donald and Douglas fan 10 I loved that trilogy because they were the first episodes I ever watched, from the first Thomas & Friends VHS I ever owned. It was clear I had a soft spot for Henry due to the development he got from those episodes.
I love The Flying Kipper, too!
That stained glass window was awesome, it looks so sad with thomas and I would assume Edward are being put in their shed for retirement
If I’m correct one of Audreys stories Henry disobeyed rule 55 in come out Henry! What’s he complaining about now?
@Aaron Adams Yeah but that was kinda the whole point really. That Henry was being disobedient.
Without a doubt...Escape! :)
well i don't have only one favorite episode but my my two are is Thomas comes to breakfast because i loved the crash in that episode and how funny it was to me. and thomas and the trucks because i love the music when Thomas is pulling the trucks and is one of the first episodes i ever seen.
My favorite episode is The Flying Kipper, I know, expected someone would say that
Baldwin had a lot of enthusiasm in Season 5, it was season 6 where he didn't sound very into it.
A few of my favourite episodes are Coal, The Flying Kipper, Thomas' Christmas Party and Episodes seventeen to twenty six of the Second Season
My favourite Thomas and Friends episode is Escape and just anything from season 2 basically.
32:18 is the most emotional part in my opinion
My favorite Thomas episode would have to be Peter Sam & The Refreshment Lady.
I'd have to say that my favourite episode is Escape
My favourite T&F episode has to be Edward's Exploit.
My favorite episode is probably Toad Stands by.
I couldn never narrow it down to oNE Favorite Thomas episode! But James Goes Buzz Buzz, Tit For Tat, Bulldog, Duncan Gets Spooked, Jack Jumps In, and Cranky Bugs are high on my list!
I can’t wait for chapter 6
I think the reverent overreacted to season 3 a bit like thomas wasn't destroyed but it also wasn't his dream show anymore, but it still brought joy to people
27:49 I had the British Thomas tapes when I was younger. To be honest, whenever the VCI segment came on, I thought the letters were going to fly out of the TV screen!
Luckily for you, that didn’t happen. Besides, letters can’t just fly out of the tv screen.
My favourite episode is "The Flying Kipper". Why? Because it was the first episode which made me get back into Thomas & Friends in 2010.
My favorite episodes would have to either James Learns a Lesson or The Flying Keeper and Close Shave for Duck.
I had that Day Out with Thomas tape!
WOOP WOOP!!!!!!
As for the question, Thomas and the Jet Engine :P
It was amazing can't wait for the next one
Once I saw this in my sub box I clicked right away :D
I wonder if the next chapter will be about the 6th and 7th seasons (and other stuff like that). Anyways, I would say that my favourite episode would most likely be Thomas and the Trucks (Trouble for Thomas). I don't know why, but I seem to watch it most of the time...
My favorite one is Rusty helps Peter Sam because that crash is amazing even though it happens to my favorite Narrow Gauge
I live in the US and I thought it was weird that Thomas was bring presents on thanksgiving. I knew something was off.
My Favorite Thomas Episode is The Flying Kipper because This Episode takes place at night.
So you like Tommy Pickles a Tommy's my favorite character from Rugrats two
