Rightly put. I just discovered this video and comments together while searching for lai haraoba. This is total crap. I understand that no culture can exist in isolation. There are borrowings and imitations. Yet, this is the worst form of imitation. Its so degrading of kabui culture (rongmai being a recent formation). Music, dress, headgear, movements... everything about it is tasteless. I can see some zou dance style in it too. Some dances are for entertainment, some are ritualistic and they must be kept in their pristine form. I express my sincere apologies on behalf of these numbskulls. The artistes may not have any ill will and completely oblivious of the aesthetics this dance carry. I see a superimposition. You have every right to stand against it. Its your cultural right. Of course they have turned it into quite a spectacle

The real reason for such incidents is division of a family. Meetei culture was a common platform before the influence of outside religion and culture for all the bloody brotherly tribes residing across the mountains range surrounding loktak lake. Through time we were teared apart the younger Meetei brothers still holds the tradition even today though the nature and way of that tradition has evolve in different way. Only the elders brothers can correct the fault by showing the right way to his younger brother how it is to be done. Pls Don,t see the Meetei ways in wrong light. Let's love one another and rediscover what's is the truth. I would like to suggest the traditional dance performers and choreographer to first know and learn what they are intending to show from those who whole the true knowledge and origin of that tradition. The real reason for such incidents is division of a family. Meetei culture was a common platform before the influence of outside religion and culture for all the bloody brotherly tribes residing across the mountains range surrounding loktak lake. Through time we were teared apart the younger Meetei brothers still holds the tradition even today though the nature and way of that tradition has evolve in different way. Only the elders brothers can correct the fault by showing the right way to his younger brother how it is to be done. Pls Don,t see the Meetei ways in wrong light. Let's love one another and rediscover what's is the truth. I would like to suggest the traditional dance performers and choreographer to first know and learn what they are intending to show from those who whole the true knowledge and origin of that tradition. Never should we do things that could lead a tradition into be seen wrongly. I truly agree with u brother.

According to MOIRANGLON (Moirang genealogy) the son of LEIMA TANU , namely UREN HANPA gave rise to MOIRANG THOKCHOM .His younger brother LANGPA became LANGTE . From these it can be concluded that LANGTE MARINGS belong to MOIRANG CLAN .
LEWA KHONGNANGLON , which is a part of ANGOMLON (ANGOM CLAN LINEAGE) mentioned that KHONGNANG along with his wife NGANU gave birth to LAMPUI (Lambui) ,KASOM ,TOLOI and LEISHAN ( Tanrui).The first NGANU is a hill dweller .The second Nagnu (wife ?) became mother of SENHONGPA . The following surname KHOMNAM ,MONSAM ,KHOIPAM , SAMPANTRAM belong to the fold of ANGOM CLAN .
This the inhabitants of six villages viz ,LAMBUI ,KASOM ,TOLOI ,KEISHAN ,MASEM and KONKHU are hill people who belong to the ANGOM clan . Therefore the LAMBUI ,SONGBU,TANGKHUL MACHIPA are also believe to belong to ANGOM CLAN .
