New Year's Eve, Grand Park, Downtown Los Angeles

Here's what the last few minutes of 2013 looked like at L.A. City Hall. The energy of some 20,000+ people was pretty amazing, even if the event was too successful to handle the crowds, which spilled outside Grand Park. My prediction is that this event will become a staple of New Year's Eve in Los Angeles and it will get better each year and have boundaries well beyond Grand Park. But they'll have to address the biggest question I heard after it was all over: "Where were the fireworks?" Congrats on taking a big step forward, L.A., and Happy New Year, everyone! #nyela
