Great show Mark and Zels, I live in Wellington NZ and liken this show to be as informative as the Breakdown, but just a lot more relaxed, fun, factual, fair and enjoyable. Shows like this make me miss being in sunny SA even more. Keep it up. "Boks by 10" + 5 for good measure. Interesting observation for the Aus vs ABs game, both teams have struggled closing games, so to see 2 teams with a similar problem could be an exciting prospect.
Well the Argies stood up ... again, and showed what a brilliant, brave and smart team they are. All credit to them. Will be an interesting last game in SA. What if Aussie hadnt edged that win in Argentina? Wow.
Awe, guys, I love the show. I just finished an early night shift at 12am, 3 cans of stella over 46min of rugby chat before bed. I can't think of a better way to start the weekend. Go bokke..........by 10😂😂❤
I wish I had Keo's eternal optimism 😂 Given the squad we have there and the Xv we've chosen we should do it but I'm nervous. If we dominate the set piece we walk it. Screw it! Boks by 10! 😅😂
Sorry Mark but Zels is right when it comes to the Sacha situation. He hurt his knee before the first Test but Rassie only realised he was limping on the Wednesday before the second Test. That's why he was annoyed - because Sacha knew he was injured but still played the first Test.
Best thing I heard this week was that Argentinian reporter asking Rassie how we're going to cope with the heat, as if we're not literally from Africa 😂😂😂
Sasha took a knock on his ankle at 60 minutes ... he stopped stepping off his left foot and ran into two tackles he would normally have stepped ... he was lucky we won because he would have taken a lashing if his injury lost us the game. That's what the rebuke was about ... 'no passengers on the field.'
Dankie!! Vrinne vir ja of nee! I love!!! My keo & zels here where I am listening to all your podcasts, here in Pennsylvania, as julle dit kan glo. Also I heard rugby is the fastest growing sport in the Merica (as I call America) 😂
Asenathi Ntlabakanye's try in the semi final was a thing of beauty, one foot raised to rev that engine, and then off to the races. Two great prop tries in the game, with Trevor Nyakane's dummy and sprint. P.S. is Keo foregoing his shaver to gear up for Christmas..
Okes! I love the enthusiasm, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's not forget that this Argentinian side beat the All Blacks in New Zealand and snot clapped the Ozzies and scored 50 points in the last 50 min. they've played. This may just be a banana skin for Rassies Bokkies... (let's not call them the B side.) You're right that this team needs to play a blinder to pressurize the incumbents and if they do it's only a good thing for Bok rugby and will lead to ever-increasing performance standards which is a scary proposition for the other teams in world rugby. Either side by 1-7 points odds spread 2.85. Though would love to be proved wrong by a Boks by 10.
Keo: The first test against France difficult to count - The Pumas rested the main players, and France was a group of veterans (not young at all) - Also the first game of the season. Argentina only had 13 minutes bad against the All Blacks (from minute 20 to 33 of the second game). But the job had already been done.
I think you underestimate the Arggies Pack Gents. Creamie, Montana, Vanilla and those other unknowns are old elephants and been around a while. They will pull an Ireland this weekend in their approach. We should still win because of the bench but we won’t dominate the pack like we think. Go Bokke!!
On Rassie with his insurance at Mbombela Stadium.... we need to still maintain our Nos 1 World Ranking position. We cant afford to take risks and lose on winning streak. Imagine where we would be had we won all the Ireland matches, we would be attacking 18 games in a row come end of year Northern Tour. We need to dominate and have consistency and continuous winning streaks to rival All Blacks of Richie McCaw side. We have the ability to do it. We need to do that. Rassie needs to get that accolade for THIS team.
I like the mentality. Domination should be a goal BUT would you sacrifice a win streak or even World #1 for a period of time to ensure that we gave enough depth to win us our 3rd world cup in a row?! I'd take that
@@bkrause4424 I want both to be honest... 10 changes is hectic change nos per game. But touch wood... we are in ascendancy as a rugby nation and the quality of players coming into the squad are already tried and proven in their respective leagues, and in my view are ALREADY international test rugby ready. So we in a super position as a country based on that. We need that winning streak under this current squad who need to cement their golden stage before the mass exodus that may just happen before the coming world cup.
Agree very strange comments around Sacha. He wanted to play for the Boks ok he had a slight knee niggle but very weird for Rassie to put him like that. Other players have been less than 100% before and still played. Look at Eben that time he had that back issue. I hope there aren’t consequences for Sacha cause he is a rare find and will grow to be superior to any other flyhalf currently.
It is not that he had a niggle, it is because he was directly asked and then withheld the info. It is about honesty. Silly because he probs would've played anyway. But dont stress he will be given a punishment like missing a game or the YE tour and everyone will move on.
Ja Rassie was the moer in because Sacha was dishonest, didn't tell anyone about the injury, essentially putting himself before the team. To be fair, his knee didn't seem to bother him in the first test, so he probably didn't think it was a big deal, but now he has to go for surgery. If there is a knee niggle it needs to be checked out cause if you play on it it could cause long term issues.
I am curious from the guru’s about how coaches’ boxes work. Give us a schpiel on the different South African coaches in the circuit, and the different roles in the coaches boxes and how the different roles play out. Maybe how Rassie’s analytics approach changed coaching is RSA?
I personally love the idea of manie libbok moving to 15 and playing a willie le roux type role. He did it for a few minutes against italy, I almost couldn't tell the difference. Atleast worth a try anyway while we are experimenting.
but hes a 10 through and through! this space he creates is crazy... and we have more athletic guys at 15 that should nw be taking over from willie... willie didnt play bad in his last game btw..was surprised.
Back in 2018 Rassie was willing to lose in order to build a team for the future. Razor seems to be under so much pressure in NZ that he is more focused on winning with the wrong combination of players, than really rebuilding. The rugby public is no a patient one, but Razor must draw a line in the sand.
I want to add one point...when NZ was dominating between 2011 and 2015(6)..they had a reputation for winning the game in the last 20...so teams facing them would often go hard the first 60, to gain maximum points...which only enhanced NZ's gameplan & dominance because of their bench strength...Now SA is the team with that reputation..so I expect ARG to come at the boks hard in the first 60 minutes, but ultimately fade when the bench arrives. So Bokke by 10 is spot on for this match in my opinion.
It so happens that the Currie Cup final on Saturday will take place on the day of the Spring Equinox. I suppose that means the match will play out to another draw, 34 all. But Sharks will again win by scoring more tries. 5 to 4.
Joacquin Oviedo! One player you have NOT mentioned. I think the world will know his name after this game. Also, just allows Contempomi to do so much more with his pack and bench. Have a good look at their bench; closest thing to the Bomb Squad.
