The series was decided in the first three games and through the first three games, Tatum shot below 30 percent from the floor. LOW is the same guy who kills Westbrook for poor efficiency despite stuffing the stat sheet but now wants us to ignore Tatum’s poor efficiency in the first three games because of his play making. I’m not rolling. Two things can be true. Tatum can be the best play on the floor and still have gotten bailed out by having a far superior supporting cast than Luka.
Could it be said that Brown had a better series than Tatum, but that Tatum had a better series than his points and efficiency in the box score might suggest? And that above all else this is a darn good duo.
Jaylen Brown was bad in terms of efficiency but not JT bad, and in the first 3 games brown was the better player but it was ultimately decided in 5. I’m personally not say Brown didn’t deserve it, I just think it was close and I would have given it to Tatum although I won’t argue with anyone who would give it to Brown
And yet the questions surrounding Tatum will still exist. He’s been poor in two straight finals and three straight postseasons, lost an easy FMVP to his own teammate, and has never been in serious contention for a MVP or DPOY. It’s extremely obvious that this chip by the Celtics even if they didn’t have Tatum and had some other superstar.
One of the things that make the NBA finals remarkable are the superstars being superstars and the incredible plays they make. This is sorely missing in these finals. Both Final MVP candidates put up numbers at the same level as Andrew Wiggins in 2022, or Murray in 2023. Both have fewer numbers than Khris Middleton in 2021. It’s a huge win for team building, those individual stars haven’t made much progress themselves.
Translation: Your opinion was wrong and you don't want to admit it. But YES, we do take Finals MVP, championships and what we see into account. Changing your opinion when you get new evidence is a sign of intelligence. You being stubborn about being wrong is the opposite of that.
What is he wrong about though jaysum tatum didn’t play well in these playoffs especially in the finals he didn’t play even to his standards like averaging 22 points per game on 38/26 shooting splits is atrocious look at the last like 10 finals what best player played this poorly in the finals
The TEAM with the most talent usually wins. Not the most talented player or two but the collective. This happens every year it’s just that much more obvious when your best player on the most talented team doesn’t play as well. Media pushes the narrative of who is the reason they won bc that’s what they do. Gotta have someone to praise or blame but in reality it’s the team that wins and loses
Mainstream sports media these days often resort to making everything about the biggest names regardless of how true it really is. Ex: How many people blamed Kyrie Irving or Luka Doncic for Dallas’ underperformance when Dallas immediately got Kyrie as opposed to how outrebounded they were.
Honestly u could replace Tatum and Brown with any other duo and I truly they would have won with even less difficulty. Tatum got bailed out like crazy im just thankful he didnt get that FMVP. It sad cuz I truly believed he was a superstar 😔.
DOWN Low's ignorance on Larry Bird is outstanding. Larry Bird dropped 26 13 and 7 in a 3-1 comeback vs the MVP Dr J and superteam 76ers the series prior. He swept the rockets in 1980. Larry bird didnt even have a top 3 roster in the league in 1981. More like Tim Duncan in 07 than Bird
It's a total L. If you listen to half of it, he's contradicting himself on numerous points. He's wrong on Jaylon Brown, he contradicts himself when he has to admit Brown improved his shot but says he's basically the same player as last year 30 seconds later. To be fair when they ran the half court offense through brown like tatum, they packed the paint also and he made plays also. One game he had 32/8/8. In my opinion Tatum and brown are the same player but slightly reversed lol. Tatum is the better shooter and ball handler, brown the better finisher and defender. Everything else relatively even lol.
I feel you are being a bit biased. Tatum playing off of Luka on defense, allows him to do more on offense, just like Brown picking up Luka 90 feet justifies him being put in the corner on offense. On a good team if you do more on offense or defense, you can do less on the other side. The reason I think Brown got the MVP: You can say he was 2nd on overall, impact-wise, on both defense and offense. Tatum would be 1st on offense, even with it being not very efficient and maybe 4th on defense or fighting for 3rd. Also, not gonna ho back to rewatch this finals, but it feels like Brown had more moments. (Media ass thing to say, but hey, MVP is a media vote).
Everything that i heard was facts. You couldve placed numerous people in Tatums position and they wouldve won. Tatum and brown are about to be paid like top tier players. Everyone knows the Celtics were the best team this year. They will not do this without elite talent around them 1-8.
I don’t think the media members that vote on it are smart enough to see that, they should have people that know the game inside and out, like you, to vote.
At the end of the day, nothing has changed. Jayson Tatum aint this top 5, best player in the league people have been trying to make him out to be. Him and JB are good at basketball but in comparison to a lot of other players they are mid. They're too inconsistent even in the regular season.
Tatum winning has no effect on how im gonna rank him he’s same player with or without the championship. Same with Brown. They literally beat Luka in the finals and I’m still going to tell you that Luka is a better player.
KP was given up on by 3 different teams. The bucks willingly gave Jrue away. D White was on the bench in San Antonio. How did this past season go for Grant Williams and Marcus Smart ??? Seems alot more to me like guys are benefiting from playing with the J's more than the other way around.

Your right but for you to discredit Tatum and Brown is crazy. Yeah they were inefficient but they still got it done, they showed up and did well when they needed to, also they’re team stepped up when they needed.
Your argument isnt enough to hand Tatum mvp over Brown. Tatums play making can be cancelled by Browns defensive task, stops and blocks. Now lets match the points scored and crucial points scored, which Brown edges Tatum to it. When bucket was really needed, #7 was answering the call. Even Tatum knew Brown was ahead of him in that race and you could see him pushing for it in game 5. Brown deserved it hands down.

@thelowpost Look at Joe interview, he said that he asks his players to keep shooting the threes to stretch the floor and keep the opposing defense guessing. I feel like you’re taking away a lot from them especially mentioning porzingis when he only played 4 games this postseason. If Tatum played like SGA or Ant and only shot based on drives he would average 30 but his team would have less options but the Celtics game plan was always for him to shoot 3’s for some reason. When you lead your Championship team in points rebound and assist while drawing the whole defense. Luka shot a similar percentage as him from the field but since his team is weaker it doesn’t count ? Then Luka is probably the second worst volume shooter in the past 25 years and Steph is a close 3rd because Steph is shooting 45% for Tatum 44%, Kobe shot 44.8% from the field. Now Tatum doesn’t look as bad anymore. In the end the Overall and average production of Tatum is still Elite, and it might not have been spread the way you’d want but it was done, every championship got bailed out by role players but somehow when it’s Tatum and Brown the situation is « Unique »

They are lucky they stacked
One of the things that make the NBA finals remarkable are the superstars being superstars and the incredible plays they make.
This is sorely missing in these finals.
Both Final MVP candidates put up numbers at the same level as Andrew Wiggins in 2022, or Murray in 2023. Both have fewer numbers than Khris Middleton in 2021.
It’s a huge win for team building, those individual stars haven’t made much progress themselves.
The stars have made a lot of progress but unfortunately nobody wants to give them the credit lol.
This why i love Low FACTS Idgaf WHAT NOBODY SAYS 💯
@@fortynights1513 yeah it’s annoying. 24 hour news cycle and this is the best they can come up with.
That’s cap. The warriors in 22 were not the most talented team. The bucks in 21 were not the most talented team, same as raptors in 19

JT led the team in its, rbds ast, on 38/26/92 compared to JB 44/23/73. Jt also led in advanced metrics like box +/-, PER, and Vorp
Jt was 1 rbd aways from a 31pt triple double in the championship game. He also is the only reason the team was up in game 3 which was the 2nd most important game (he led for the first 3qts)
If you removed names, left just a silhouette there showed the stats and asked which player is better, NO ONE in their right mind would choose brown's stats

Tatum took a big leap this year when it comes to play making, i think his focus and leadership on the floor was a huge reason this team finally made it over the hump
he's no longer a scorer an should be moved to pg
Low always starts off a video saying "I didn't wanna talk about this" then proceeds to make a video talking about SAID thing 🤣
And LOW, the fact that Brad built the team around his best player’s weaknesses is what you’re supposed to do.
Low basically called the Celtics a rich man’s 14-15 Atlanta Hawks
Real FMVP is Jrue Holiday but Jaylen deserved it as well 🤷♂️
Celtics front office deserves a lot of credit. They made a complete upgrade with Jrue. Smart, Grant Williams, and Brodgan were worth the sacrifice.
Honestly the first three games kinda sealed it for me. He was just consistently great shooting at or above 50% those first three games while hitting the dagger shot in game 2. As well as guarding Luka and limiting his efficiency.
W segment. It crazy how people on Players Choice were trying to gaslight LOW for speaking facts on this situation.
On that same show Low admitted he hates on Tatum

I think it was Game 2 when Mavs was getting blown out and both sides empty the bench but Tatum has stayed in all the way till the middle of the 4th and I just thought that he was that padding he was putting up a lot of shots he even did that in game 5 trying to keep the stats close and he did
an still failed to win fmvp facts.
I agree with everything you said low, But let’s not also erase 7 years of postseason success. These guys have led the Boston Celtics to deep runs every year. So the additions that were made was also in effect to helping them get over that hump. If we didn’t have Jrue and Kp JB and Jt coulda played lights out and we probably still would’ve lost to the mavs. So I think they’ve earned the right to become shot chuckers essentially after basically holding this franchise down for so long.
Were you listening? That’s everything low said in the video.
They won’t have an amazing team moving forward and the east won’t be injured and you won’t face a Mavs team that was carried by two players. The role players won this title and the Celtics will be paying Tatum and brown crazy money for being mediocre at best

LOW, nothing you said matters when you win.
Stats do not mean a thing when you win, and the fact that the team was well built enough isn’t a bad thing.
Glad you telling the truth LOW i thought the same thing. Everyone's arguing over who is better they both played below average on a stacked roster which is concerning
Brown was great and Tatum was good , stop lying
How is that concerning? If they were better players they wouldn't have needed the stacked roster. You guys say they aren't good so their gm gives them the help they need to win like superstar players

@CoryJones-mj9on that's just cap lol. We won those games cuz of the bench. JT had a shoulder and wrist injury in those finals. There's a reason he gets the most defensive attention. Some days I wish you guys would see JB as a number 1 for a full season to see how shit is
To be fair when they ran the half court offense through brown like tatum, they packed the paint also and he made plays also. One game he had 32/8/8. In my opinion Tatum and brown are the same player but slightly reversed lol. Tatum is the better shooter and ball handler, brown the better finisher and defender. Everything else relatively even lol.
jb deserved it, he guarded luka well, hit clutch shots in the 2nd half and he was more consistent
According to low it’s better to be great for a team that loses than good for a team that wins like the point of playing isn’t to WIN
I hate watching Tatum sometimes because he limits himself by being braindead smh hes on the court trying to be everybody EXCEPT himself sometimes (harden, steph, kobe) instead of taking advantage of his own attributes smmfh imagine when he finally wakes up and realizes this??? He'd be a monster 🤷🏾

This is completely unhinged. You need to talk to someone about your problem.
Did you just talk about Brown and Tatum "underperforming" for 14 minutes straight without even mentioning defence?

Nobody tell him basketball is a team sport
It seems to be a deeply rooted American idea that it is, in fact NOT a team sport and it HAS to be one player doing it all. Maybe that is why Europeans are considered "soft". They are usually tought the game as a TEAM sport.
low knows its a team sport his man point was the 2 big stars in jb and jt are getting more credit for the win when in reality it was cause of how good the team was build around them
@oscarkouevi1900 porzingis who barely played? Derrick White who shot like shit outside of 3s, Pritchard was ass outside 2 half court heaves. If it wasn't tatum and brown you're saying Jrue, Horford and Hauser carried?
First throughtout this play of jt has been avg or bad with bad shotting split jb been good without a good team they would be stuck 2nd round loss or finals choker and tingus pingus came back and became a beast for the 2 playoff games not saying without them they would win but because of them they have a better odds of winning.
Now let me ask you if jt and jb didn't haave those player you name would they be winner today not likely
You PREACHING this video
KP was given up on by 3 different teams. The bucks willingly gave Jrue away. D White was on the bench in San Antonio. How did this past season go for Grant Williams and Marcus Smart ??? Seems alot more to me like guys are benefiting from playing with the J's more than the other way around.
I hope he said this same thing about giannis cuz nothing about giannis game changed from 2020 to 2021 the only thing that changed was that his team got better but we all know he didn’t

Nah he gotta get credit for that he collapsed the defense and consistently made the right decision that’s the ONLY thing he should get credit for shooting was ass and you 6’8 you should be getting rebounds
Even if he didn’t get the assist the Mavs were running to close out on the player he passed to and often times that player made another pass to another wide open shooter

That duo didn’t do any new from the last couple years sup till now. The rest of the team just got better.
Ngl. I cannot give you a like, but neither a dislike. Tatum and Brown played well and they did find a way to win. Even if they both had short comings
If Tatum didn't shoot bad we wouldn't be having this convo. Brown deserves it but overall Tatum was better
Thank you for always speaking the truth and being real I really appreciate you for that

Holiday shut Kyrie all the way down. Take 25+ points off the books for the opposing team. Celtics matched up perfectly with Dallas. Brown deserved it. Tatum is another KD.
For everyone saying “but jaylen brown guarded Luka”. I would just like to acknowledge the importance of tatums versatility being able to be a primary matchup on the screener neutralizing lob threats and switch hunting , which one could argue was just important
Damn you strong and wrong had to make a whole vid cause you don’t know talent 😂
It's an incredible video of him being wrong. He's up there posting a Kendrick Perkins post where Perk says he didn't think the Celtics could win with Brown and Tatum and then disagreeing with Perk saying he was wrong. Bro, he's demonstratively wrong. Unlike Low, he's smart enough to admit it.
Looking at these comments people don’t know ball jus want to hate on Tatum and that’s cool but he’s a champion forever kyrie shot 12-28 in gm 3 for 35 points 5 assists and 4 rebounds and everyone said he balled Tatum shots 11-24 31 points 11 assist and 8 rebounds and all I hear is he shot bad can’t make this shit up
