Praying to the wrapped up gods that you read a curious beginning asap 🙏
you did so well bestie!!!
Know my name IS incredible but it makes sense to wait until you're ready to read it
Read a curious beginning in October and immediately fell in love and read thru book 7! 🦋
The writing retreat was a huge win for me too!
Ignorance is bliss, especially when it comes to books 🥰🥰
To be fair though you did so well, hopefully it stays that way going forward....I'm sure it's fine 😥
I am your dad. It’s putting a strain on our relationship that Hell Bent wasn’t a 5 star plus 😂 that’s my fav book of the year
I absolutely love the Veronica speedwell mysteries
I read In the Lives of Puppets and felt the same way and oh my gosh you're right now ones talks about how it is a Wizard of Oz retelling, how in the world did I miss that. Lol great video, you smashed it.
The Last Word is definitely the one I want you to read the most!!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 You did so well!!!
So much fun! I'm afraid to go back and look at my TBR 😂
You did such a great job tackling that TBR ❤
I love your fierce defense of The Writing Retreat! I loved it too❤
You did so good!!!🎉
Nice job Meg!!!!!! 👏🏻
This is definitely the best one! I really want you to read the non-fiction witches one!
Great job!!!! I put way too many books on my TBR to adequately track this. Haha.
You did so well 🤩
Me looking at my “23 reads I most want to read in 23,” seeing I read only 4 of them, and immediately proceeding to make a “24 reads I want to read in 2024” 😢
I just read the first 2 books of AGGGTM because of your recommendations and I am obsessed!! Can't wait to finish the series this week. I still consider you my most compatible booktuber after you were the only one who didn't like The Secret Society of Irregular Witches.
I am so excited for you to read the third book! 🫣😦🤯
I think in the live of puppets is a retelling of Pinocchio, the blue fairy, they got swallowed by a big whale, he is a real boy (he is not a puppet but I think there is a metaphor around him not feeling anything and then meeting this other android (trying not to spoil anything mayor) but that’s my perception
I have the same sort of experience with Silvia Moreno-Garcia, really liked Mexican Gothic and I liked Certain Dark Things fine but it didn't hit the same and I couldn't get into other ones she wrote so I think it's more the vibes than her as an author in general for me. You did great this year!
I thought you'd already read The Shadow Cabinet but it sounds like you haven't - it was even better than HMRC in my opinion. Higher stakes, more action - loved it!
I'm pretty sure In the lives of puppet was said to be a pinnochio retelling and girl not bad this year woo better than I did. Think I read literally 2 on my original TBR lol
Go you! 😊
I read A Curious Beginning this year... and I ended up reading the entire series in 2 weeks... Then I immeditely re-read it. Safe to say, I think you really should read that one next year haha congrats on reading 15 though, I think you crushed it.
You are such wonderfully delightful breath of fresh air ❤
the thing about veronica speedwell (which i love) is you can power through the first 5 and get to a good stopping point even though yes there are like 8-9 books now. at least that's what i've done. I was so satisfied by book 5 that i'm just paused because i don't want it to be over but i'm happy where i'm at in the series.
❤❤❤
When I read rule of wolves I DNFed when I had fifty pages left because I hated it so much 💀 like how did she ruin Nina that much
I adore Veronica Speedwell, I've only read the first 3 books in the series but would love to finish the whole thing this year
The non-fiction killed you lol
I was so excited to read A Curious Beginning but then I was so disappointed. I love a strong female MC but I found Veronica to be very “try hard”, a “I’m not like other girls” girl. Such a shame bc I otherwise enjoyed the story but found her to be so obnoxious!
I completely agree and I feel so alone in this opinion
I mean she has purple eyes, how is no one talking about this
Completely agreed. I really wanted to love it but I couldn’t
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I though in the lives of puppets was a reverse Pinocchio. 🤔
It's kind of both, we have a robot creating a human child, and we also have the human setting off on an adventure with 3 quirky/flawed non-human friends in a strange land.
Can Love, Theoretically be your LAST book of 2023?
The Writing Retreat was meh to me. Like I didn't hate it, but it wasn't a favorite either. To each their own I suppose.
I am BEGGING u to read know my name. pretty please
Veronica Speedwell, you could read the whole series in less than a week without overexerting yourself.
“In Defense of Witches” was one of my favorite nonfictions of the year.
I tried to read in defense of witches but I DNFed it honestly. I didn’t feel like it was as impactful as I expected and was more boring than I expected for a book about witches and feminism…
the woman in the library was my least favorite book of 2022
I’m sorry to say but I honestly hated A Curious Beginning. I know a lot of people loved it but I found it to be terribly boring
People seem to love that series so much which is awesome but wow it was a huge letdown for me too!
You say adult in the American way. Are you part American?
