You can put metal in the oven. What is not recommended are those tinfoil containers most shops use to put food in. If it's just for a quick heat it's ok, but for baking and stuff it's dangerous because it might melt and then you are just eating toxic metal with your food.
Also, no metal in the microwave, it will spark and start a fire. Also no empty containers or with stuff that don't contain water, microwaves work by shaking the water molecules, the friction creates heat. Without water the microwaves will just bounce around and it will destroy the appliance.
