Love the health & safety, steel toe cap sandals and state of the art axle stands. Some really good mechanics here and they don’t let anything get the better of them.
Lack of clean work area will tell you everything you need to know. Dirt plus tight tolerances are not a great combination. Something tells me they have a lot of repair repairs. Just because they get in done doesn't mean is good or correct.
Love these guys, I remember helping my dad with heavy jobs and getting in there with him. you learn how not to do things which helps you figure out how to do other jobs better, safer, faster,

I have worked around CAT'S/HEAVY EQUIPMENT. Most my life. I will NEVER be jealous of another mechanics tools like when I first started. These men are amazing at what they do! OSHA and MSHA amongst others would never allow us to do that in the US. Hats off to all these hard working Men. Could you imagine how much they get paid to compare to how much we get paid for the same job? I really like how they are teaching and passing on their techniques and workmanship to the younger generation.

In Pakistan it’s common for the young boys to start learning the trade as a apprentice. They are given minimum wage and food but by the time they are 20 years old they are ready to make a decent living for themselves. Life is hard there if you don’t have specialized education. I am planning to visit next year.
they are too stupid to put any of the profit into an electric or air impact, that's what a smart person would do. Then the dummies woul;wouldn't know how to charge it or run the compressor so you would need to get them a generator or solar panels. Basically you'd have to do everything for them and show them how to use it. They probably don't even have the intelligence to know such tools exist.

Respect for what they did under difficult conditions even if they did chip a corner off of one of the new linings. One thing I believe was wrong. I have never known of new linings to be fitted without being bonded in place by epoxy or such like and I was trained as a heavy plant fitter 54 years ago. Maybe they consider it a waste of time on those machines with in the field repairs but it is why the previous set broke up in pieces. I was shocked how young they were but then again I started just after my 15th birthday and we didn't have state of the art tools in the UK then either.
In the USA and Canada many pick up trucks and taxi cab used a riveted set of brake shoes. We called them heavy duty linings. In the 70's it was common like a loaf of bread. Also brake pads were the same, riveted (heavy duty) bonded (standard). Hope this clarifies your query. Cheers
@@caddyrack I don't have a query. I was trying to clarify how it should be done as it was in the 1930's to vehicles then. Bonding and rivets as taught by my father and my 71 year old boss who I had the privilege of working with when I as 15. Call it belt and braces if you like. It stops the shoes falling apart after a quick fix! Hope that helps you understand why the shoes broke up in the first place. Slightest movement they start to break up.
The least of their problems. Did you see safety attire? Boots, gloves, goggles, ear protection, just to name a few. As a windy day and working outside I doubt dust was a problem.
