    I think there is a growing movement of engineers and producers that are decidedly going after organic results via tape, distortion and outboard gear. This is a great option for the old schoolers and tinkerers out there who want the best of both worlds. They can be both out of the box and in the box. I see value in that as it preserves their organic artistic approaches while offering other digital solutions/inspirations.

      Another use case is simply people that want to record live bands that don't like using a computer/recording software, and people that have a limited budget since you can literally pick up an old analog console for $500 (or even less) and have a very decent recording rig for under $2,000. This would probably be for pre-production and good sounding demos, but plenty of platinum-selling records were made in the 90's using 3 ADATs (24 tracks) and an analog console (Alanis Morrisette's Jagged Little Pill comes to mind).

      It seems like a multitrack recorder with 24 tracks. Is that what it is? The reason I (the comments) don't understand it is because this video didn't show the back of the unit. Does it have XLR plugs or line or what? Or did I miss where he showed that?

    • @poxcr
      @poxcr 24 дні тому +1

      @@mauchkimberly It has 24 inputs and 24 outputs on DB25 connectors that you can use to connect your preamps, a recording console, or even just a basic mixer if all you want is to mix outside the box. For example you could send up to 24 individual tracks (or stems) to a mixer, and then record the mixer master out back into your DAW. You can also record directly to the Studio Bridge if you wanted to, completely ditching your DAW.

    I wouldn't call it an "interface". I'd call it what it really is ....a 24trk recorder....24 analog in/24 analog out. And at about the same size as the old Tascam Midiizer! :)

      It is an audio interface. You can send / receive 24 channel audio to any DAW. I’m at a loss as to why they didn’t include master out to go to speakers but everything else makes sense.

      What you’re saying is probably true but the fact that it was made to be more of a tool for a recording enthusiast, and it leaves the name and the options open for people to be creative with it. I think he just wanted to put this in different hands and have people run with it.

      @@AxeRocker88 thing is you can hear each individual track, but they have masters out going to speakers would not give the full picture. It’s not a mixer doesn’t have pan knobs or feeders so there’s no way to control the sounds that are coming through it all at once, so if you want to monitor, I guess you could somehow figure out some thing within the patchbay to be more elaborate but yes, it’s not a mixer, but it’s a recorder in its simplest form

    3:36 is so not true. It was a sales pitch. You can get 24 in to your computer very inexspensively. That figure. $$$$ lets do some A/B tests for those claims. That is a nice looking recorder. the cost for people is all the preamps and mixer... so $$$$ that is the conversation... after that A/B test!~ ;)

      @@morbidmanmusic thank you for sharing but I completely disagree with you. This is a unit that could be an every club across America because it just runs off a piece system and you can record live bands.
