💯agree. I’m 51 and 5’5 and still ride 20’s, but since getting the same 24 monza that Bernie is riding, I’m kinda hooked on 24’s. The only downside of being a “grown up” with money, it’s hard to stop at just a bike or two. I’m on my 9 or 10th (lost count) bike now since I started during the pandemic. Also, one important reason I got back into BMX is that it kept me mentally young especially during isolation. I was researching on how to fix and upgrade bikes…thats how I found😊 you guys. As always Mahalo Kev and Bernie for doing what you do. 🤙🏄🤙🏄♀️
100% agree! Yeah, with adult money, it gets hard to stop sometimes! I just got my two GTs that I picked up from their mega sale and my wife just rolled her eyes and was like, "How many bikes do you need?" Haha! Really appreciate you taking the time to share that comment and for watching our vids each week! Appreciate you brother! 🤙🏻
What a motivating video! I'm 54 and am 5'5" too and wanted to get back into BMX riding. I have been second guessing whether to get a 20" or 24". I started mountain biking maybe 15 yrs ago and just never really loved it as much as I did riding '81 GT Pro as a kid. Time to start getting my BMX wish list together.
Just bought my old 86 performer- and also a new predator 24” to ride more often -since I spent too much on the performer! Gonna fix up the predator to look like that Monza 24
I love the way people that weathered the "pandemic" still call it that. Here in the UK the ONLY people who still believe in this BS are people paid 80% of their wage to sit at home drinking wine.
53 years old been riding all my life the only difference now is when I ride by all my old friends homes I don't see the BMX bikes laying on the front yard that used to let us know where everyone was at enjoy our time here it is so short
That is so true! You could tell who was over based on what bikes were out in the yard! Thanks for bringing me back down memory lane! Totally agree that life is way too short, especially for us older guys. We have less years in front of us than we do in back of us and we really need to make it count! Thanks for sharing that and for watching! 🤙🏻
I live on Oahu and I'm 58 years old. I have been a BMX enthusiast for years like yourselves. I currently have two Redline MX-24 and a 20" Chase RSP 2.0. I love watching your videos and I've been riding my 24s every now and then. Keep up the good work.
Thanks man! Do you do any of the rides in town with Elton and the Wheeltok gang? They ride every Wednesday and Friday. I'll be there this Friday actually! Hope to meet you one day! Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
Yeah man, 54 here just picked up a 2009 PK Ripper gonna be swapping out some parts to make it more custom. Looking forward towards next summer!!!!! 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
I am 50 and I had recently pulled out my first BMX/ freestyle bike. 1988 Predator Freeform pro YO 20”. I have done a lot of work on it to bring it back to life. Since then I purchased 4 more BMX bikes . I will keep 3 in the box and build one of the big wheel bikes. I can’t wait to feel the freedom of two wheels again. I thank you both for sharing your experience and stories with all of us. 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
I'm 53 I bought a haro master lineage in 2020, I still love doing endos and rock walks snd the odd tail-whip!!once a bmxer always a bmxer...forever RAD...🤙🤙🤙
That’s awesome man. Love that we can get back on a bike after all these years and pick up like no time has passed. Keep riding bro and thanks for watching!! 🤙🏼
58 years old got me a reissued Mongoose from 1981 just like the one my whole world revolved around when I was a kid. I am hooked all over again. That Monza is sweet, Thanks Guys,Awsome.😄
I have a small collection of 80's BMX bikes which are shop queens so they don't get riddin and when I found out about the old school repop GT Dynos I ordered one immediately so I could comfortably ride a BMX bike again. I'm 47 and having that adult money for impulse buys is great. I'm hoping to get more exercise while remembering the glory days.
Let me tell you, it's been fantastic to be able to get out and ride, even if the bike is bigger. Brings back all those old memories and feelings and yeah, now we have adult money to spend! Be careful though, it'll be hard to stop at just one big BMX bike! After I bought my Big Ripper I bought a Monster Quad within a month and it's just gotten worse! I have way more bikes than I need at the moment and need to start selling some. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
My Diamondback BMX got ridden all over town for years. Great bike, only needed occasional tires & tubes. I’m 52 now and riding awesome rigid singlespeed 29ers since 2013. Awesome!
That is really cool to hear man! Love hearing from guys our age who are still out there being active on their bikes! Keep rolling and thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
It really helps to have someone to ride and work on bikes with! One of these days weʻre gonna visit you up in your new spot in Texas! Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Almost 54 and starting over with a Throne 29" here in San Diego. Been riding bikes forever, just not had a BMX in awhile- I just subb'ed to your channel
Thanks for subbing! Glad to see you’re back on a BMX again! Isn’t it great? All the cool stuff we did to bikes as kids, we can now do as adults and with adult money! Thanks for the comment and for watching!! 🤙🏼
Not quite 50 yet (49 next month), but my brother and I had a similar situation. I bought a bike 22” wheel bmx, Fit series 22 during the Covid lockdowns. Rode every day with my son. Built a full custom 22”. Gave the complete to my brother. He’s now built a grip of full customs and we have joy back in our reality for the first time in decades.
That is awesome!! It’s amazing how getting back on a bike just does wonders for the soul. All of these wonderful memories came back and it’s been fun talking and riding as we both end up bringing up something that the other forgot or remembered vividly. Those old school BMX days were the best and it’s been a lot of fun getting back on a bike as an adult. Welcome back and hope you stick around!! Thanks for sharing that comment and for watching! 🤙🏼
The internet has been detrimental to my health in a serious way. After I had that thing in 2021 I been online and living a sedentary lifestyle. I never been heavier than 195 my entire 52 years until recently. I’ve always been able to ride a 20 inch even being 6’6. Easy with skinny legs. I tried the other day…ain’t happening. Yeah something gotta change for me. You guys are pure motivation
We all gotta start somewhere and all it takes is that first step! Do it a little at a time and try not to get too frustrated comparing it to how it used to be. We aren’t spring chickens anymore so slow and steady will do the trick! Keep us posted on your progress!! Thanks for taking the time to share that comment and for watching!! 🤙🏼
Totally agree ! ... im 52 now and i had all kind of bikes but finally get back to a 29 inch GT performer because it's cool , simple & fun ! i also was a bit nostalgic of the 80ies.. i customized it a lot.. :)
Turning 48 this year .. building a 20" flatland/freestyle as we speak. Gotta keep it OG with 20's. If I want a big bike I'll ride my mountain bike. Great vid
Thanks man! If you can still ride the 20, that's awesome! For me they are a little small so I enjoy the bigger 26 or 29. Main thing is we're both back on a bike we love! Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏼
I started riding at the end of covid. so many were out of stock I wound up getting some brand I never heard of, Hiland 26". Cheap, I went through a few spokes and a seat but been on it a minimum 10 miles a day lost 110 pounds and kept it off, 175, my weight in High School. I did a few challenges on FB to raise cash for charities too good stuff, highly recommend. Love the Monza's the colorway the stickers remind me of my 1st "real" BMX an 83 Mongoose expert.
I had a Kuwahara Laser Lite that I raced. I absolutely loved that thing and would still have it if my mom didnʻt sell it when I was in college. I was super bummed at that. Thanks for sharing and for watching! 🤙🏻
60 and loving my punkass RSD Middlechild enduro that is built up with a one speed automatic transmission, 4 pot disc brakes. 27.5+ wheels and 3.0 liteskin tires. I enjoy the gearing at a mild ratio of 2.14:1 through a 30t chainring and 14t cog. This bike is very playful and a hoot to race at the local BMX tracks and even more fun ripping about the neighborhood. Dirtin' is a joy with the plump, soft tires gripping like Velcro! I have kept bikes in the forefront of my life all along. I love this bike's attitude!! Total punkass... Also made a very nice Italian leather frame pad cover for a unique BMX pad!
Bro, that’s awesome! Love seeing guys stay into riding bikes as they got older! The only problem is the mind says you can still do all the same stuff but the body is like, uh uh! Thanks for sharing that and for watching!! 🤙🏼
@@cruisinginthe808 This is what bike life is all about, staying the course and always playing. Who doesn't love rolling a wheelie or flowing through some turns? Mind sez, gitter dun! Cancer treatment slowed me down some but groovin' once again! 2 years cancer free. My bikes helped kick that stuff to the curb.
Thatʻs awesome! Yeah, that is one fork name that we have not heard in a long time! I had one of those on my OG Mongoose! That is awesome that you could race in the Grand Nationals! I would see those races covered in the BMX Action or Plus magazines and dream of racing in one of those big races. Stoked that you were able to do that! Thanks for sharing that and for watching! 🤙🏻
I just turned 45. I was thinking about getting back into biking. While watching videos about the different styles of bikes I ran into this video. I went down and bought a bike a day after watching this. I haven’t had a smile like that “first ride on a new BMX” smile in over 20 years. Thanks for the kick in the rear end boys! Mahalo bros!
Man, that is so good to hear! Glad youʻre back on a BMX bike! What bike did you end up getting? Now is the fun part looking for ways to customize it! Thanks for the kind comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
I ranked them, and added a couple bonuses: Good exercise and easy on the body; It's fun; See new places; Meet new people; Commuting is good; You love BMX; Many old BMX companies make big bikes; Many new companies make cool products; Many big bike sizes; Great complete bikes under $1k; Many options for customizing; And... You might see your state bird!
Back before everything on your smart phone I enjoyed all the magazines bmx plus and so many others. Recall Christmas I wanted subscriptions to them and motocross motorcycle mags. Good stuff.
You and me both brother! We were the same, waiting each month for the magazine to arrive and then going through it cover to cover to see what was new. We’re at DirtyFest this weekend and we’ve met some legends like Stu Thomsen, Bob Haro, Eddie Fiola, and others. It’s been a blast. Thanks for the comment and for watching!! 🤙🏼
Hay guys you should look in to the history of monza bmx it’s originally from Sweden Stockholm and now it’s making a comeback I love the geometry of the frame, the old school style.
Weʻve done some work with Monza and are familiar with their story. Pretty darn impressive when you stop and think about it. They are doing some great stuff in this big bike BMX scene and more good things are coming! Thanks for sharing that comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
Such great content guys! Just love watching the beautiful scenery pass by during the chill conversations. Got back into BMX bikes about a year ago, when i bought a Big Ripper. Love to get out on it everyday, though the weather here on the east coast is making a little tougher. I have even gotten pretty good at wheelies, better than i was as a kid on my Mongoose.
Bro, you are much better than we are if you can wheelie now! Thatʻs awesome! Bernie isnʻt going to be trying to wheelie anytime soon. Me? I try to pop it up every now and then but my bad back has kept me from really trying. It sucks getting old! Thank you so much for the kind words and thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
@@cruisinginthe808 It hasn't been easy... haha, a couple of loop outs where I took some skin off my back (I always wear a helmet), and have had to nurse some injuries, but the journey is a blast. Things come a little slower when you're older. Just turned 56, and I love to have BMX back in my life.
I hear you bro! I got back into mountain biking in my middle forties and I thought I was still a kid and started hitting jumps again. Nope, I canʻt do the same things anymore and when I fell, I jammed my shoulder and had to get physical therapy. Yeah, not doing that anymore!
Thanks man! Yeah, Bernie definitely felt naked without his gear. We were still stoked to be able to still get in a ride and luckily our route is off the main roads for most of it. Bro, love hearing that you are 59 and still jamming on the road and mountain bikes! Thatʻs awesome! Bikes are the way to go in my opinion as you get older. Thanks for sharing that and for watching! 🤙🏻
Turned 50 in April. Was a freestyler from the 80s. Road Dyno and GT. All my friends had the same bikes just different colors. We were quite the crew. Just bought a Gravity dead eye. Already mixed in GT goose neck and bars. Should have just bought a pro performer or Dyno pro comp 29. Thanks bros for the videos ! God bless!
48 years old, currently riding a 2013 DK Sentry 24" I bought used from a guy that won it in a raffle after my chrome DK Legend 26" got swiped. Black Ops "Mullet" seat (no butt-buster seat for this guy), SE beartrap pedals, Schwalbe "Billy Bonkers" tires, DK hubs (freecoaster) , DK stem, Neptune sprocket, lock-on grips, SE chain tensioner. I ride to work on nice days, take it to the store and just pleasure-cruise and sometimes even hop a curb or break the kids off a wheelie. You just cannot beat a big BMX for the simple pleasure of riding. My pics for anyone wanting a high-quality bike on a budget are the Kink Curb and the Cult Devotion. Both are 100% chromoly, double-wall alloy rims, aftermarket parts and cost around $500.00, shipped.
That's awesome man! I love hearing from older guys like us who are out there riding! Glad you like the 24! Those are some great choices for bikes for people to check out if they are just getting started. Always good to ease into it before you start spending some dough to make sure this is what you want to do. It's also good to try and test ride some of these different sized bikes in a local bike shop too if you are lucky enough to have one near you! Thanks for fhe comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
I'm 45 and just grabbed a Monza 26. Best feeling in a long time being out there riding! Last bike I had was a beach cruiser, which just ain't the same as a BMX style. Brings me back to my Mongoose days back in the 80's.
That’s awesome man! Isn’t it great to be back on a big BMX bike again? Welcome back and I hope you stick around to see what we do next with our upcoming builds!! Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏼
ijust ordered the redline SQB 26 cant wait till it gets here. im so excited! im legeally blind and never drove a car before i just turned 50. i cant see good enought to drive but i can ride a bmx bike everywhere i go, all my life. 😀
That is pretty awesome of you! I had some pretty bad eyes myself until I got them corrected with lasik surgery. I probably would not have been allowed to drive either without any glasses or contacts back then. Iʻm stoked you got that Redline coming in soon! Go to my website and send me your mailing address via the contact form on the bottom and Iʻll send you some stickers for your new bike! Keep riding man and thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Thatʻs awesome to hear! Thomas and the gang at Monza have been super supportive of not only myself but of other smaller creators too. They really want to support the bike life scene! What are you doing to your Monza? Keep us posted and thanks for sharing that and watching the video! 🤙🏻
Much Mahalos to Da Broke Mechanics started riding my 1st Bmx at 53 a 24 inch black label Dave mirra and bought a Fit bike 20 inch coustom rode 50mile at Honolulu Century ride in 2019…
Brah, das awesome! We have a century ride here on Kauai too but we havenʻt had the balls to do it! But it would be a fun challenge on a BMX one speed bike! Mahalos for the support! 🤙🏻
That is a great bike! Thanks for that reminder! We built up a 26" version if you want to check it out. ua-cam.com/video/C2lW73-h6FQ/v-deo.html Thanks for the comment and for watching!
I'm trying to get my cousins back into BMX. Last night he just bought a chromed out vintage GT mach one the serial no. M1 0195 so it's a 95. It's cherry bruh. Even my mom was oogling the bling. I have a late 90's 20in Quadangle XL. We want to hit up the pump track. It'll be an old sea dawg kind of day rockin' era rides.
Bro that is awesome! I would love to find me like an ʻ85 24 GT Cruiser but those things are big bucks if you can find one. Man, so stoked that you have your old quadangle still! I wish my mom hadnʻt sold my Kuwahara when I was in college! Thanks for sharing that comment and for watching the vid! 🤙🏻
Im 49 and love your channel. I havent rode BMX since i was around 7. My friends had the blue and yellow raleigh burners but cause i was a girl my parents got me some silver red thing. It was better than nothing. You both encouraged me to get 24inch Monza same as Bernies plus i got me a mike buff fat ripper and a beastmode lol so i have some nice choice. Totally love all your videos and look forward to them. Love when Bernie and yrself build bikes and go through stuff. Helps me to learn how to look after my new bikes 😊 I'm in London UK, wish we had nice places like yrs to ride local!
You got some nice bikes and good choices to choose from! Nice! Glad you’re getting back into riding! And I love that you’re a female! Not too many girls rode BMX back in the day. Thank you so much for the kind words about our channel and I’m stoked it’s helped you in some way! Appreciate you taking the time to share that with us. It keeps us motivated to keep going!! Thanks for watching!! 🤙🏼
As far as BMX goes, I have a Crew Defender, and a recently acquired Haro Hoover. The Defender has all chromoly frame forks, cranks, and now chromoly SE cruiser bars! I have the Defender as a fgfs bike. The Defender has doubled wall rims with 700x32 tires. The Hoover is a 20 inch with 2.4 inch tires. I have been riding my Hoover a lot lately! I want to fully get used to my Hoover, so I can go back to doing some jumps and other tricks in the air. I am 50 right now, but I'm not letting that stop me!
I'm 54 been riding again last 20 years my daughter born 2006 she's been my bike partner since 2009(riding in bike trailer)til she learned to ride bike at 4 years old
Am 45 and I’m picking up a race inc 29er today am 6 feet 250lbs so that should be a good bike for me.. I miss it and I definitely want to ride a bmx again.. couldn’t have a nice one back in the day so am going to spoil myself now..
That’s awesome man! Yeah, it’s nice to have adult money now to get what you couldn’t get as a kid! Be careful though because it’ll be hard to stop at just one bike! Congrats and keep us posted on your progress! 🤙🏼
Hi...I'm turning 60 in 6 weeks...I currently ride an old Murray Cruiser bike on the paved a dirt trails around my city. Really thinking of 26" BMX because I like single speed and want a comfortable ride that is durable.
The 26 and 29 inch BMX bikes are a lot of fun to ride. Getting on one brings back a lot of memories and they are easy to ride! See if you can find a local bike shop near you and ride a few to see which size best fits for you. Good luck and keep us posted!! 🤙🏼
@@cruisinginthe808 I ride daily doing food delivery on an ebike or an electric motorcycle. I am thinking about getting a BMX bike. It would be cool. I will have to swing by the bike factory…
Thank you for this. I recently got a new 24" Bmx bike and I'm getting back into riding after a 30 year hiatus. I am 54, about to be 55. This is inspiring me to get out and ride more. I'd like to know where I could find notices in regards to group rides around town?
That's awesome man! Glad to hear you're back on a BMX bike! Where do you live? A lot of the bigger cities all have regular rides. Best bet is to jump on Instagram and look for other bike riders in your area or go talk to a local bike shop to see if they know of some rides. If you let me know where you live, I can maybe suggest some people in that area if I know any. Thanks for taking the time to share your comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
I have a hardtail MTB and I need riser bars for it and I love it but Im thinking of getting one of these for the memories ...and are the SE seats more comfortable than MTB lol...I need a comfy seat
Im 54. Been ridiing since late 70 early 80,s. I have a 24 dk general lee. I want an old school 20 and another big bike old school as well. I really turned up the heat on riding this year. I workout with weights also so it helps for riding. Im getting back into racing next year. Bmx riding no matter what style rules!!
That is awesome man! Love that you’re still riding and actually want to race again! I wish my back could handle that. Love hearing from guys our age! Keep riding bro!! And thanks for watching and sharing that comment!🤙🏼
Aloha Rory! Bro, itʻs so good to see other older guys like ourselves out there riding again. Itʻs definitely been one of the best things Iʻve done recently because we also get to meet cool people like you from all over the world! Keep riding brother! 🤙🏻
Thanks man! Appreciate you dropping that comment and sharing that with us! Isnʻt it great to be back on a BMX bike again? Welcome aboard and I hope you come back for more! Thanks for watching!🤙🏻
I'm 50 now. But I've been collecting bikes since I was 19. I still ride almost daily I the summer time. Here in Northern Indiana we have some brutal winter's. So from late November till about late March its hard to ride! So watching the videos of the guys riding that live in beautiful states is so cool and helps with my winter depression lol. But. My bikes are in my house and I can be with my collection everyday if I choose! BMX 4 LIFE KEEP RIDING GUYS.
Bro, that is awesome! I’m stoked that our winter time videos can help! I would not enjoy being stuck indoors for those months after being used to riding whenever I want for my entire life. But you make do with what you got right? Send us some pics of your collection! Would love to see some cool bikes! If you ever make it out here hit us up for a ride! We got bikes you can use! Happy Holidays from one old guy to another! 🤙🏼
I still ride an original 20' GT Performer. I have never rode anything bigger. They just look unbalanced to me. My seat gets uncomfortable on long rides and it's not really geared for speed (flatland freestyle) but it still glides
Did we get a chance to meet? We met so many people that weekend and it was hard to remember every person. But I can say we met some amazing people there and loved going out on that Cap Tex Cruisers ride! Thanks for sending the photos! Bernie and I are in that group shot! 🤙🏻
Wait a minute, you dudes live in Hawaii? I gotta start watching more of your videos. I'll be 51 in September and plan on getting back into BMX freestyle and just riding. in freestyle I mean simple fun tricks, nothing too crazy.
Yessir! We live on Kauai actually. Go for it brah! Get back on a bike and you’ll love it. Yeah at our age we gotta keep it simple and easy. Falling down seems way more sore than it used to be back in the day! Thanks for the comment and for watching!! 🤙🏼
I'm 47 close enough couldn't decide to get one or not going to order one soon you got a coupon code that would work I asked monza and they said they coming out with new batch if styles in the second half of 2024 going to order chrome with mags right now new batch comes out going to get the white version 😀 😅 then probably black edition too 😂
51 years old here. I still need to sell my fitbikeco 26 Mike Aiken. I thought that it was what I wanted. But I hate that damn granny gear. Redline chrome 24 is what I want. There's a mid 90's Redline 24 in my area for a reasonable price. A city not to far from me has a new pump track.
@@cruisinginthe808 love it, racing in the 80s seemed like the lucky kids got em, fast fwd to NOW...I got one, P.S. BMX in Japan is thriving...I sort of miss Hawaii, sort of glad I left thanx cuz
Thatʻs called a Road ID. It contains my contact information in case I ever get hit while out on a ride and Iʻm by myself. Just a little piece of mind to let first responders know more about who I am. You can add stuff to it like your blood type or other information you think would be helfpful. Check them out at road.id.com and see if my code still works if you are interested. Iʻm one of their brand ambassadors but they havenʻt done much lately so Iʻm not sure if my code down below still works. Thanks for the comment and for watching! Forgot to mention I did a video on this too awhile back if you want to check that out.
I’m 57 and got back into biking a few years ago on a comfort bike. What do you think about putting bmx handlebars on a 26” mountain bike? Is it similar to a true 26” bmx bike?
Iʻd say go for it! But youʻd also have to check on the cables for your brakes and shifters. Mountain bike cables donʻt usually have a lot of slack so they donʻt get caught on stuff on those rides and so if you put some taller bars on them the cables might not reach. If you are willing to redo all of the cables, then I think youʻd find that putting some BMX bars would suit the mountain bike just fine! SE and GT make some geared BMX bikes and if you look at the GT, itʻs basicallly their MTB frame with BMX parts. Hope that helps and thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Thatʻs awesome! Is that a JTT Mongoose Cruiser? Or did you find an original Kos Kruiser?? Keep us posted on how the build is going! You can also find me on IG. Thanks for sharing that and for watching! 🤙🏻
Thatʻs awesome man! You have a gem on your hands! Keep us posted on the build! Weʻd love to see how that turns out! Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
For me it's not about the old names it's about who is making them SE from what I understand is made in china Bak in the day I had a Black redline series 3 102b, followed that with a redline 700 sl, and that was parted out for an early mid school PK ripper. Now I'm too big for a 20-inch bike they don't have enough rider space for me, so I want a cruiser or perhaps something on the level of the 26" OM Flyer. but IM unsure what's out there since things have changed so much since i last rode pre-2000.
It’s the Insta 360 X3 which is a 360 degree camera that stitches out the stick. I mount it to the bars and connect my mics to it and I have hands free recording. I can swivel the viewing angle to any position later in their app. I really like using it but it adds some time to the editing process. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏼
I’ve never heard of Monza , I’m curious where are they based out of ( Hawaii ) ? I like them ….hey I’m in my 50’s and like you guys said I have grown up money and as a kid I was always enamored with Bullseye but we were poor well now , I’m almost embarrassed to say how much I have into my GT ……lovin’ it
The guys who created Monza are from Sweden but the bikes are sold from the US. We have just been very fortunate to have their support. I hear ya man, I was the same way too! Had no money back then to get my dream bike although I did save my money to buy my Diamond Back and Kuwahara. But yeah, with adult money I am also embarrassed a little with how much Iʻve put into my bikes too. And Iʻm worse I think because itʻs more than one bike! But like you I am absolutely loving it. Thanks for the comments and for watching another one! 🤙🏻
Best advice I can give you is to see if you can get to a local bike shop to check them out in person and to ride them. The sizes do make a difference and you want to get a bike that you feel comfortable with. Hope you have a local bike shop around you! Keep us posted on your progress on finding one and thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
God you confuse me sometimes you go back-and-forth but as always great Contant and you know it’s 50s and 60s I am 62 still racing in riding 😊time to get you back on the track

It could be the way the 360 degree camera is making the bars look. Trust me, they are not bent our out of whack at all. These Monzas are solid bikes! 🤙🏻
Well you can add that to the list because they are everywhere! 😂 For the most part they end up like squirrels…..they are there and you just learn to live with them, but these guys wake you up early in the morning and dig up all of these small holes everywhere looking for bugs to eat. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏼

I miss that. I'm 34 but it was the same what when I was young.
Don’t forget about us 40 something year olds lol.
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Sweet! Keep us posted on your build! Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
Why are you keeping 3 in the boxes?
I'm 53 I bought a haro master lineage in 2020, I still love doing endos and rock walks snd the odd tail-whip!!once a bmxer always a bmxer...forever RAD...🤙🤙🤙
That’s awesome man. Love that we can get back on a bike after all these years and pick up like no time has passed. Keep riding bro and thanks for watching!! 🤙🏼
LOL
48 years old... started racing bmx in 2022. Love it!!!
That’s awesome!! Keep it going bro!! 🤙🏼
58 years old got me a reissued Mongoose from 1981 just like the one my whole world revolved around when I was a kid. I am hooked all over again. That Monza is sweet, Thanks Guys,Awsome.😄
That’s awesome man! Glad you’re back on your bike! Keep it up and thanks for watching! 🤙🏼
I turn 50 next month and you've convinced me to get back on a BMX. Thanks!
That's awesomeI Keep us posted on your progress!
50 year old rider here, Colony eclipse 24"
Keep it rolling guys, great videos!!
Cheers for everything and stay safe!
That’s awesome! Glad to hear it! Thanks for the kind words and for watching!! 🤙🏼
Love the banter back and forth. Pure magic. Stay rad!
It really helps to have someone to ride and work on bikes with! One of these days weʻre gonna visit you up in your new spot in Texas! Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
@@cruisinginthe808 my door is always open
Almost 54 and starting over with a Throne 29" here in San Diego. Been riding bikes forever, just not had a BMX in awhile- I just subb'ed to your channel
Thanks for subbing! Glad to see you’re back on a BMX again! Isn’t it great? All the cool stuff we did to bikes as kids, we can now do as adults and with adult money! Thanks for the comment and for watching!! 🤙🏼
I find the psychology behind the will at a certain age. To re-visit the past via nostalgia, very interesting. 🤟🏼
I'm 56 addicted to bmx bikes just like you guys
It is an addiction, isnʻt it? Itʻs just been a ton of fun getting back on the bike again. Thanks for sharing that comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
You guys and your bikes are so rad
Appreciate that man!
@@cruisinginthe808 absolutely! Ride on bros!

I’m 55. Don’t forget SE Racing! The PK Ripper has been and will always be my dream bmxer!
No doubt SE has to be in the mix! They’ve done a lot for the BMX community!! Appreciate the comment and you watching!!
Omg a kuwahara in that picture.
I had one of those racing in europe in the 80s. First one was a nova.
I had a Kuwahara Laser Lite that I raced. I absolutely loved that thing and would still have it if my mom didnʻt sell it when I was in college. I was super bummed at that. Thanks for sharing and for watching! 🤙🏻
Meeting you guys was the highlight of my trip to Austin! My Hawaiian Homies!
Bro, hanging out with you was a highlight of ours too! Canʻt wait to do it again! Appreciate you brother!
Sounds like a pretty cool bike. I would like to see that set up. Do you pics of it on your ig?
@@cruisinginthe808 This is what bike life is all about, staying the course and always playing. Who doesn't love rolling a wheelie or flowing through some turns? Mind sez, gitter dun! Cancer treatment slowed me down some but groovin' once again! 2 years cancer free. My bikes helped kick that stuff to the curb.
Sold! I just bought a lineage Haro Sport and Haro Master and am going to start riding again! 48 years young! Cheers from Texas, former SoCal boy

Started with an Ashtabula and ended with a Race Inc. Raced at the ABA GrandNationals in OKC IN 1981
Thatʻs awesome!

@@cruisinginthe808 You mentioned all those in some manner!! I just added them to your list :D
Bernie sinned: no helmet!! 😂 Nice ride guys, finally! 59 here and ride both road and mtb. Good for the mind and body. Ride safe both!
He’s a grown man just cruising 😂
Haha, yes he is!

Turned 51 on the 5th. I'm in the middle of a Mongoose cruiser build.
Thatʻs awesome! Is that a JTT Mongoose Cruiser? Or did you find an original Kos Kruiser?? Keep us posted on how the build is going! You can also find me on IG. Thanks for sharing that and for watching! 🤙🏻

I'm A New Subscriber And I Am 60, I Still Ride My Bike, Mountain Bike But I Come From BMX Freestyle.
Welcome to the channel! Check out our new Torker build as we’re building a rare 26” Torker Freestylist! Thanks for the comment and for watching!! 🤙🏼
What did you use to film this? Invisible selfie stick? Camera with stitching feature?
I was a bmx rider growing up but never owned mountain bikes I’m torn Wich to choose from
Best advice I can give you is to see if you can get to a local bike shop to check them out in person and to ride them. The sizes do make a difference and you want to get a bike that you feel comfortable with. Hope you have a local bike shop around you! Keep us posted on your progress on finding one and thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻

The exercise should be number 9.
Absolutely!! 🤙🏼
Never go hungry in Hawaii with all those chickens
Haha! Yep, and we also have a lot of wild pigs too! 🤙🏻
🙌🙌🙌
Appreciate you Thomas! Bernie and I are so grateful for your support! 🤙🏻
Those bar look bent white
It could be the way the 360 degree camera is making the bars look. Trust me, they are not bent our out of whack at all. These Monzas are solid bikes! 🤙🏻
Of all the things I've heard about Hawaii, surfing, hula dancers, Magnum PI, Spam, poi, wild chickens everywhere aren't one of them.
Well you can add that to the list because they are everywhere! 😂 For the most part they end up like squirrels…..they are there and you just learn to live with them, but these guys wake you up early in the morning and dig up all of these small holes everywhere looking for bugs to eat. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏼
Want to buy my 12 yo boy a 24”, assuming he’ll ditch it and then it’ll become mine 😆
Good strategy! Make sure itʻs not a super good bike or it may backfire on you! Good luck with the plan! 🤙🏻
MONZA = BEST QUALITY, FIT AND FINISH!
I really like their stuff! Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏼
