I know it's been ages since I watched these scenes (btw thank God they decided to bring him back) but I don't remember most of these scenes (spoiler ahead for those who didn't know already) My memory of Aaron before 2014 is pretty much beating people up, accepting he's gay and jackson becomeing paralysed...
I believe it was the other way around. Aaron never had the chance of becoming truely happy with Jackson because it took him some time to accept himself and when they finally got together, Jackson accident happened. They just never had much time to be just happy. After the accident Jackson was just depressed all the time, and when he did smile sometimes it was either forced or short lived. And i never figured out if Aaron actually loved Jackson or felt guilty about what had happened. Maybe both.
I'm not sure what episode but the channel 'Kimbaforevaryanlamb' uploaded all Aaron scenes 2010-2014. Then 'Aaron fan' currently uploads all scenes post 2014 when they're aired

I love Robron's storyline but Aaron has never been tht happy with Rob how he'd been with Jackson!
