This is her rendition of the song and I think she crushed it. Finger position, pinch harmonics, hand muting etc. Seriously? The woman is an elite guitarist. Everyone watching this wishes they could play this well. I know I do. I love watching her play and wish she would return with more videos.
Funny how he criticizes the use of her middle finger. Really ! I think she is way ahead and way pas on this detail technic. I mean come on. She's the best ever
I have to admit, this heavy metal stuff gives me a headache, but it's always great to see Tina playing and people reacting to and analysing it. Personally, I prefer her covers that are less metal and more feeling, like "Altitudes", "The Loner" and "Comfortably Numb". I like "Arpeggios from hell", too. Especially since Yngwie Malmsteen was so proud of it how hard they were and Tina looks bored to tears playing it.
It's like they say THOSE WHO CAN DO and THOSE WHO CAN'T CRITICISE This woman is an elite guitar player and deserves to be respected f o r her phenomenal talent she is the greatest hope her hands are insured for millions
SHE'S PLAYING A VIGIER EXCALIBUR CUSTOM GUITAR MADE IN FRANCE. VIGIER (owner of the company) personally inspects tunes and plays every guitar produced. Unless he approves it the guitar never leaves the premises. $5,000 U.S.D. plus tax and shipping.
Excellent, it does sound like there are power chords played in her rhythm, instead of single muted notes connecting the power chords making it seamless.....in that incredible rhythm known as TORNADO OF SOULS....she's awesome, very much a big smile
Try walking and moving in the exact way as another human being. Its impossible. Hence every thing after the original is nothing but a form of interpterion. You cannot avoid that reality. The version we all hear, cant be replicated by the very author of it either. Perfection and replication are impossible efforts and stupid expectations as well.
@@charki40 I'm not expecting it to be the same. It could be different and still be as good or better, but it isn't. But that's just my taste, of course, others may prefer her interepretation, and that's fine.
So I guess the comment I have is that you really dinged on her about her fingering for power chords calling it a liability. I mean I guess I see your point from a standpoint that it isn’t terribly traditional but I would ask you to hear a couple of things in mind - you are throwing stones at a 15/16 year old that is probably more technically proficient than you are and second - you are looking at performances and interpretations - she’s done malmstein, via, Van Halen, Friedman, Li - playing some of their most difficult pieces - essentially flawlessly so I guess I fail to see in a practical sense how her preference for fingering power chords has limited in her in anyway or caused any of her performances to suffer even remotely.
Would love to see your breakdown of The Dooo's omegle series. Lots of people watch but very few talk about his style and techniques. If you could do The Dooo that would be awesome
Hey DJ nice to see you on the UA-cam doing reaction videos. If you want to see something spectacular by Tina I highly recommend her interpretation of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement. That is one of my all time favourite piano pieces and she does it with such eloquence on the guitar. And also she covered Steve Vai's For the Love of God. In that video she puts so much emotion in her playing and still nailed it. Keep up the good work and stay heavy brother.
I can't use my pinky finger for play, it yips... Gotta rely on that middle digit man..Form be damned! Btw; She uses French guitar manufacturer, Vigier Guitars
Please review Hercules muses medley by Michael korte it’s amazing and Any of Jonathan young’s cover ( he takes songs from one genre and sings it in another a lot in metal and rock)
would you tell django reinhardt to not play with two burned and fused fingers? we use what we have. she has very small hands. wouldn't surprise me if early on she found it to be more comfortable than trying to stretch with her pinky and developed this technique for chords. i'd agree with you if it was an issue for her, but we're watching perhaps the greatest guitarist (male or female) of our generation. i have no issues with her technique.
I have found alot of guitar teacher's find some fault in her playing. She has been classically trained from a very young age. Steve Vai basically said her version of one of his songs is better than his.
No offense to this teacher but it’s comical how he critiques her to the umpth degree. Some of his guitar playing videos imo aren’t on her level… lol. There’s only one virtuoso in those videos. It’s clearly Tina lol
Check out a young lady from Sweden, Gabriella Quevedo. She plays fingerstyle on acoustic. She does a fine job with Mason Williams' Classical Gas, and since she's played with him, she also plays Tommy Emmanuel's version. If math is correct, she was 15 and 17 respectively when the videos were released.
Another note on Vigier guitars; I actually went to their website and proposed they use Tina's Beethoven video, or pieces of it as it is 6 minutes long, with the tagline: "This is as good as our guitars can be played. It's really annoying when people don't do their homework. The complete rhythm part, all music except the solo is by Dave Mustaine. This has nothing to do with Marty.
I agree with you completely. The tone is very drenched in effects and the pinch harmonics are way too prominent. I think she uses a very small pick, like a jazz III, so some are probably accidental. But overall she crushes the solo.
Sorry ... you talk about later on advanced technique stuff criticizing her way to play. Do you think that you are anywhere near Tina? She probably passed you by the age of ten.
Would love to see your rendition. its easy to critique. Now your turn. Post a video of your unedited vid playing this. There never be one will there. Words words words. The thing about critics is they are not the ones doing the work are they?
Early on, the comment is made that it's hard to match Marty Friedman's groove. Umm, that is Dave Mustaine's groove. Marty is a great soloist, but make no mistake, this song is 90% Dave Mustaine.
Pretty good but from a stylistic point of view, a couple of critiques. First, and DJ you touched on it, too many pinch harmonics. It's a groovy song and can be hard not to succumb to I admit but too many cheapen a well placed squeal. Second, the lack of palm muting during the verse riff just doesn't cut it for me. It just sounds sloppy imo. It doesn't give the vocals room to breathe and loses that groove. I know it is a cover. nobody wants a carbon copy and again I see these as stylistic choices, not errors. But really, overall a great job.
Just to recap a few of your pearls of wisdom. "Pretty good, too many pinch harmonics, cheapen a well placed squeal, lack of palm muting, just sounds sloppy, doesn't give the vocals room to breathe and loses that groove." She shows more emotion physically here than normally I think. It seems to me that she really enjoys playing this one.
Yeah, I thought the same.
Especially liked the 7:04 part 🎸
I believe it is mandatory to ask about her playing Moonlight Sonata. It is absolutely mind bending!

Only Mustaine wants Friedman note per note for any guitar player that plays for him. Kiko did it awesome.
Always felt she rocked this song more than any of her other covers
Awesome what a Blast
Tina S(o Good) ....
Badass solo
She was doing a 3 note power chord and I am pretty sure there is a reason for her using the first 2 fingers instead of the first and third. IMO
Yes and mustaine doesn’t always play with 3 fingers makes it less heavy with 3 fingers
She‘s doing great, but Marty‘s phrasing is still unmatched, in my opinion. I love his slow bends.
