Hi, This is my first year teaching 4,5,6 . I've never taught these grades. My head is exploding. Thank you for the reminder of stations . I'm implementing these when we're back this week.
I love the idea of creating stations for multiple subjects! I think it also helps students to be more independent and accountable. As a first year teacher, my biggest struggle is classroom management and I have a wide range of learners. I like that stations give the ability to meet different learning styles but I was wondering what you would recommend for students who are working below grade level (minimum 2 years) and/or students that have learning disabilities?
Students that are working 2 years or below grade level will be on adapted programming, so it will mimic what you already do for the rest of the subjects. You will likely have to provide accommodations of some kind (aka - if they can’t read instructions, maybe pair them with someone who can. If they can’t write, allow them the opportunity to complete their assignment digitally or with a scribe, etc). Same goes with learning disabilities (this is a wide range of course so it depends if you have an EA or TABT to support you).
Stations are definitely the way to go! Thanks for the refresher!!

When in doubt, listen to Maryana!
