Thair should be NOTHING put on Carabiners/ that can attract derbies or dirt. If anything use graphite with alcohol. Longevity is something you dont consider with this life-saving rig. Replace it!

In the ‘Thorough Examination of Arboricultural Equipment’ Qualification Material it states:
      “Lubrication
Apply approved lubricant selectivity to the mechanism and contact areas.
      Remove excess lubricant.
We recommend the use of Duck Oil.
      Do not use graphite powder.”
It’s a nice thought to replace a Carabiner every time they get a sticky gate but unfortunately not cost effective or necessary.

      Or this from DMM website
“Lubricate the hinge, barrel of the gate, and pusher chamber with one or two drops of lubricant (Duck Oil, Super Lube, 3-in-1). Do not use graphite powder. For wire gate carabiners a drop or two of lubricant is simply required at the hinge.”
