Lovely vlog! I did the Tateyama-Ogizawa route 3 years ago, in March when it was almost completely covered in snow. Would love to do the same route sometime in future, during the Japanese summer and get on the Kurobe dam!
Thank you so much for watching! We've always wanted to explore Tateyama and the snow corridor -- that must have been quite the spectacle. Keep us posted on your trip if you make it out there in the summertime; truly an amazing destination~
@@ataleoftwobays8554 Sure! Let's hope Japan opens up to International visitors soon. It wouldn't only be Tateyama but also areas in and around Matsumoto, Fukui, Tojinbo cliffs, Ohara in Kyoto, etc.
Hey there! Great video summary - super helpful to know about food too. I’m planning to head to the Tateyama alpine route in a few weeks. How many days did it take for you to finish the route from one end to the other? And what was the intended trail you planned on hiking (but didn’t because of weather)?
That's a great question! We wish we had a "one-size-fits-all-answer" but it definitely depends on a variety of factors. Most likely the nitty-gritty logistics will come down to which country you're coming from and what industry or field of work you'll be specializing in since this really dictates the necessary steps and requirements you'll need for acquiring the proper visa. Especially during these pandemic afflicted times, the travel restrictions and merit are based on variables (but not limited to) country of departure, vaccination and Japan residency status. If you're referring to just in general possibly beyond COVID-19 restrictions, although this one may prove obvious, we can honestly vouch that brushing up on Japanese goes a really long way! Most major cities have English speakers; however if you're planning any trips in suburban or rural areas, it can be tricky to communicate with limited Japanese language skills. Especially if you're looking to work for a Japanese company in a Japanese work environment, some places require foreign workers to pass the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) of at least an N2 (though some are more forgiving nowadays and allow N3 depending on the industry). Hopefully this proves helpful -- thanks for the support and pitching such a valuable topic. We'll try to think of a proper top 10 for a future video!
Thank you for your clip! I will be there in July. Love your VDO❤
I love it. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for your feedback and viewership!! 😁
