This is so awesome. My users would be totally annoyed by this and that’s great. Lol. Also, has anyone told you that you sound like Micheal J Fox?

All fun aside, what you’re telling me is that we potentially have full control over a complete Salesforce retheme if we wanted to?

Yep, you can completely re-style your org if you wanted to do so! I’ve never gone quite that far but I have used this trick in a variety of ways to help re-style small OOTB things as well as add conditional rendering to tabs in tabsets. It’s very useful from time to time.

Nope, you have to create LWC’s in an IDE. You can easily and for free setup an IDE though. I have a whole playlist that walks you through exactly how to do that for Salesforce Development!

Hi Matt, first of all thank you very much for your great videos, they have helped me a lot in my current job (I am an intern as a salesforce developer). I wanted to ask you something, how do you see the future of salesforce developers in about 10 to 15 years? Do you think Salesforce will continue to dominate the CRM market and there will still be as much demand for developers? Or Salesforce can be another Siebel Systems (before it dominated more than 40% of the market and then fell precipitously).
Excuse me if these questions are difficult to answer, no one has a crystal ball to predict the future, but based on your experience in the field and where you see the industry moving, what would you say about this?
I am a final year computer science student, and the company where I am doing my internship has offered me a complete training program to join their team of salesforce developers. I really like this offer, I have noticed that salesforce developers earn incredibly well, a junior salesforce can earn the same or even more than a senior in C# for example, at least in my country (Ecuador says Hello: v), but this you think will be a bubble?
I love programming, but I'll be honest my priority is money, especially when you live in a country like mine; In my country, salaries for programmers are generally very low, for example: I have engineer friends, web developers, with 2 and up to 3 years of experience earning $600 - $700 salary, when the basic basket can be $500, it is discouraging . On the other hand, as a salesforce intern I earn $1200 and work for a national company. This is the reason why I find in salesforce the perfect union between doing what I like (programming) and earning a decent salary. My only doubt is that I have read so much information on the internet (reddit: v) that mentions that if I become a salesforce developer and then the demand for developers drops or they start to pay badly, changing careers will be much more difficult.
In conclusion, I am afraid of marrying a technology that in the next 10 or 15 years may disappear or its existence in the market become residual, what do you think?
Forgive my English, and if I extended too much: v.
    Thanks Matt!!!

As someone who’s worked on this platform for 8 years now, I’m doubtful the platform is going anywhere. Nearly every major company you can think of uses Salesforce in some capacity and an enormous amount of government entities do as well. I couldn’t imagine it just outright tanking even in 10-15 years.
That said, like you mentioned, I’m not a crystal ball. It’s possible it will follow the same fate as Siebel, but you know what? If it does another CRM will take its place, and if another CRM takes its place it will likely be surprisingly similar to Salesforce but with a few new quirks. The Siebel devs that were out of a job just transferred right on over to Salesforce and continued their pie in the sky pay. I work with many prior siebel devs today.
So you’ll probably be fine either way. Some day Salesforce may not be the hot thing, but the need for a CRM will never cease to exist and with your SF experience you’ll likely be able to easily transition to whatever the next hot thing is.
