I think homemade solid markers are also good, you don't need to much ingredients, but it's really good for this price
yeah I've never been brave enough to give it an actual go making any of those haha, but they sound fun too and if I could make one that works, I'd be very happy to keep making them for sure
@@ScizGraffiti People in my area use sandpaper on our train and bus windows. Creates a cool effect and I'd imagine pretty discreet
@@ScizGraffiti probably it's not so hard, of course you can't really reach the quality of Sakura, but something similar to Markal is pretty easy i can say. All what you need for easy one are 2 components, paraffin or wax (wax base) and some kind of solid pigment (solid paint). The cheapest way would be to mix chalk and paraffin in proportions of ~50/50. Cheaper than markal in total
The biggest problem with diy wax sticks in my opinion is that they never dry to a hardness where you couldn’t scratch it of extremely easy unless you use real hard wax to begin with (sealing wax) but then they are so hard they are not fun to write with, and wax sticks tend to be transparent… I think you need to make something similar to an oilbar, but you need an additive to the boiled linseed oil to make it dry harder… you could leave a pot of oilbased hardware paint outside with out a lid and stir it every 8 hours or so until it turns into a thick creamy paint since most of the thinner will have evaporated, make it as thick as possible, and then make an oilbar using that paint and as little sealing wax as you can get away with, because the hardstore oil based paints has the hardening additives you need, but unfortunately we’re I am it is hard to find oil based hardware store paint, there replacing it with synthetic alternatives wich are to sticky to use.
@@Trixxx_360-nv2ni I know dude, I told you the easiest way to make something similar to Markal, something like construction chalk. For a normal solid you need, in principle, 4 components: a wax base, an adhesive base, a plasticity modifier and a dye. Let's say the wax base is paraffin (60%), the adhesive base is glue pencil (30%), the plasticity modifier is Vaseline (~5%) and some kind of solid dye, for example, rubbed chalk (~5%). If you mix everything correctly and push it into an empty tube of sakura or pencil glue, you will get a very similar result to an “oily” solid. The main thing is to wait until the paraffin begins to cool so that it can mix with the pencil glue and form a uniform mass. In fact, it’s not that difficult, and if you practice a little, you can start to get good wax markers, which will be much better than wax crayons. (By the way, oil paint is also good as an adhesive base, but then solid paint will stink, but I know this option and he is good). There is one guide on UA-cam from a person from Russia (In a Mask), but it is in Russian and many people do not understand it, but it helped me make my solids.
You need to walk the tracks again. Always cool to see what passes your area. Lots of hubs. Would love a freight benching vid again
Yeah for sure. More of those coming. Just not sure when exactly :)
Used to do scribes on buses with a stone and i still choose that over an actual "scribe tool" today because it dont look like a deadly weapon lol. And there everywhere haha Excellent vids as per dude.
good point! no pun intended lol. Yeah the scribes are sharp enough too that they tend to get sorta stuck on stuff and you can only write really jagged with them on some surfaces. so I can see thew case for a good stone instead haha
Yess!! great video bro
cheers man :)
omg youfo
ive always loved using sharpie chisel tip and they are cheap! like 1.20 euros (1.78) CAD
I do have one somewhere around the house, and I can't say there's ever been anything wrong with it. Definitely not a bad option :)
your vids realy help me❤
glad to hear! cheers :)
solid video! :)
big up Snake :)
try the edding 950 marker in a review
You can melt Markals and Hobos down by removing the skin and putting them over low heat in some kid of metal recipient. Then you can fill up your old solid marker bodies. I've refilled Gankos, Sakuras, glue sticks etc. You can fill at least two Sakuras with one Markal. A little work but more convenient and you can fill all kinds of interesting things with them.
definitely a great point! You can make some cool sizes of solid sticks that way fro sure
1st, i like ur videos thank u for doing such nice content! :)
Glad to hear! Cheers man!
some cheap markers i like are those fatter tip sharpie oil-paint markers that you can find in walmart, though they only come in black and white but ig you can refill it with different paint if you want to (ill probably refill the white with chrome when it runs out)
yeah I've had flow problems with those but anything oil-based is a good find if it's not too expensive. and plus, black and white is all you really need sometimes haha
Those have a better cap than Unis anyway.
Great Video
Thank you man :)
Could you make a video on mixing pigments I've got some colour shift pigments I'd like to try out cheers bro
Can I ask where you got yours from? I have a lot of those but I am looking for some good ones myself. Also what mixing agents do you usually use for them?
@@ScizGraffiti i got them from Temu for my fluid art i mix them with a pouring medium called Liquitex pouring medium it works great with the colour shift pigments the medium is abit thick i just add few drops of water check the consistency so it's abit on the thin side but i haven't tried using it in a mop or marker yet with the pigments but that's what i use to mix the pigments with Liquitex acrylic pouring medium
thank you! I also have been playing with them in the exact same medium. I find the colour shift stuff to be very finicky so thank you for the info.
@@ScizGraffiti No worries bro. What pigments do you have
Hey how do you feel about art primo mops?? Also love the videos🔥🔥🔥
I have never gotten to use them but I only hear good things about them so they must be good haha
Personally I've given up on all whiteout markers, the tips just get stuck or clogged or broken on most surfaces too often. I've also never liked scribes because they tend to dig in and slip and end up looking like a toddler wrote it.
totally fair. I've had pretty good luck with the white out pens but them breaking has been a problem for me even with bigger metal heads like the k66 and the grog metal head. So the tips do definitely have that problem for that whole class of marker
Can i use the spray paint liquid for my diy markers?
Depends. I've had a hard time making some spray paints flow through mop nibs, but some seem to have no problem. You sort just have to try it out unfortunately
yo bro can u write ROVER next time
Just added it to the hit off list! It'll be after the next upload since I already filmed that one though. Hang tight!
love your vids man but please buy a microphone definitely would improve the quality of your vids
if I had the money lol. I use a Rode shotgun mic right now as I found it was better than the lab mic I was using before
Could you please rate our tags once?
Can I be in the next video 😊😊
My tag is safro
Just added Safro to my hit off list for the next one I film. It'll be after the next upload since I already filmed that one though. Hang tight!
