Let's kick things off by requesting your data directly from Spotify. Head to spotify.com, log in, and click on the top-right profile menu. Navigate to "Account" and access the "Privacy settings" using the left-side menu. Select "extended streaming history" while unselecting other data options. Scroll down to find the "Download your data" section and click the "Request" button below Step 1.
Confirm your request by clicking on the button in the email you'll receive. Spotify will process your data, and within 30 days, you'll receive an email with a link to download your personal data. Don't worry; even though it's a lot of data, the text format keeps the file size manageable.
Once you receive the email, click the appropriate section to download the JSON file. It's time to dive into Tableau! Import the JSON file directly into Tableau using the available option in the menu.
