The little tips you gave us about letting certain notes ring out or other notes not ring out, help make this song make sense. I think those principles could be applied to other pieces as well, especially the upper and lower voices.
I’m thinking that I should get the standard Mel Bay Modern Guitar Method Book 2. I’m using the Mel Bay Modern Guitar Method Complete Edition Part 1 and it has so many more exercises to go through. Señorita is on page 14 and Wade In The Water is on page 27 with 13 pages of exercises between. I don’t mind going through the extra pieces but it does take more time. Would you consider using the Complete Edition for us over achievers, lol?
I prefer to focus on digging into the small edition and really looking at the value of each item and move through the series more quickly. You will get better faster. If you use the expanded you’ll spend much more time in Level 1 but have more fun doing it. So, whatever your personal learning goals are.
