He played the character so well. I cried during the scene when he was protecting his mother and realized what his dad had done.
Me too. Because it reminded me of all times I had to do the same for my mom. When I left home at 16, I carried the guilt of not being there to protect her around for years. He finally died when I was 37 and you can only imagine how glad I was (still am) that he was finally gone.

I absolutely adore RJ. He's such a good actor, and the fact alone that Walt Jr. is played by an actual person with cerebral palsy and not someone attempting to mimic the visible features of it, is so great. Plus, RJ is such an icon and I love him
I actually didn’t think about this the first time watching it years ago, but recently rewatching it (after having known several people with cerebral palsy ir), I wondered “is he just acting??? Bc this is uncannily accurate.”
Cool to find out they actually hired someone with the condition to portray it. It doesn’t always work out like that in Hollywood but I’m glad to see that kind of representation when it happens.

Did anyone find it weird that Jesse and Walt JR never met, or even came across each other?
Woh really true
No.
Really though it should be considered weird
Why? This encounter would not be possible in any way. junior is such a minor character compared to Jesse and their lives so different. Many characters have not met each other in the show because their roles are different.
Junior's role in the show is just to give depth to Walt. I couldn't say the same for Jesse. He's a major character.
Jesse has been to walts house multiple times and junior just happens to be gone every time, he would be considered a major character too because he's basically the main reason for walts business.
He not only landed a major part with a disability, but a major part on one of the most acclaimed and well-written TV shows out there. That's quite the achievement.
There was no more sympathetic character on BB then Jr. I almost cried several times seeing how much he loved his Father and much he always manipulated him time and time again and that heartbreak in the final episodes when he finally found out the truth about Walt.

its so great to have a disabled actor play a disabled character, but that not be a large part of the story line, if that makes sence. like most characters who are disabled have their disability as a large part of the story line, and it is so refreshing to just simply have a disabled character and it not be a big deal

@@peter42liter93 yeah definitely agree, it’s just such a sad story overall
Why the fuck is everyone feeling pity for him? He took his speech "handicap", turned it into an asset.
That's to be admired not to pity. It's like Arnold Schwarzenegger, he was told "you're just a pack of muscle, no one needs that - not hiring you". Then he turned that into what made him Hercules. His accent? "No one can understand you" well that turned into "I'll be back".
He took his "issue" and made it his BITCH. (that's what jesse said.)

They also need good actors with disabilities
Walt jr was an incredible character. Saying :" What if you gave up on me" reduced me to tears.
The guy is a fantastic actor with a great career ahead of him and yet half of the comments are about Cerebral Palsy- He doesn't need to be coddled, some of his attributes are different but mentally/socially he isn't different from anyone else.
Great actor!
I definitely enjoyed his work in Breaking Bad, but his career moving forward could end up getting tied to his condition. I guess his main concern would probably be getting typecasted. While being an actor with CP could land him several gigs in that particular niche in the market...roles in which the character has a predetermined disability...I would imagine he doesn't want to be limited to just that. Does that make any sense? I don't know much about the acting biz, but I know I wouldn't want to have to play the same character over and over.
I get it what u saying, but to be honest with u i don't think he will get any role in acting career other than handicap role.
touahmed You do know that he actually has a mild form of CB and he doesn't need crutches to walk. He could get tons of roles, the only downside is his speech pattern, but he is in no way getting "handicap" roles as you so put it.
But he did come out in an episode on switched at birth as a cripple and in the show he explains to one of the girls that he talks like that because of his accident
he doesn't have a great career in front of him, his roles will be extremely limited.
I loved how RJ described being on that set as a “master acting class.” Truly I could only imagine. Must’ve been like being in a set full of wizards.

He's so adorable
I wish he had a bigger part in the show!
they ruined his character in the end
why do you say that
King James why do I say what?
not you, the guy who said they ruined his character
They didn't ruin his character; they simply didn't give him enough colors to play. He was always so out of the loop/befuddled/confused or angry at being out of the loop/befuddled/confused. Would have been so much better had they written it into his character that he isn't so surprised when the truth comes out. I would have given him a few more moments like that throughout the show where just when we think he doesn't know what's going on, he surprises us.
Wait. He wasn’t acting with his voice? My respect went up 1000% for him.
When RJ talks, the way his mouth kind of forms a frown is so endearing, so sweet. He wears this soul on his sleeve, and he is a loving and kind person.
